What is the best definition of Jinn as mentioned in the Quran? Is there one definition, or can there be many meanings? What do they look like--are they human like and made of fire, or can they look like anything?

Yet again a beautiful and straightforward explanation about trying to understand about “jinn” I myself was told I was “jinn possessed “ due to being epileptic At the time that impact was truly horrible Thank you Mufti for always being extremely rational with this topic The same Muslims who told me this about myself had a brother distraught and he stopped taking his medication He was in Pakistan,I connected with him and I’m glad I found him ,kept on at him told him he can believe what he wants yet he had no siezures whilst taking his medication given after a diagnosis by a neurologist I myself truly gave myself a telling off I worry for people who experience such things as I could of actually believed this and if I had stopped my medication could now be in a very bad position or possibly not even here !!

It's so frustrating some Muslims r helpless with things that can be helped with simple medications (science) when it comes to certain medical issues, instead blaming on jin possessions or black magic(superstitious beliefs). just the other day, an old friend informed that our madrassa teacher passed away due to black magic/evil eye. I was dumbfounded to hear. We need more scholars like Mufti saab who are clear thinkers and straightforward. in surah al hajr 15, ayat 26.27----15:26 And We created man from sounding clay, out of dark inorganic matter. [37:11]15:27 Before humanity became civilized, We had placed in them a fiery disposition.-----and in sura al rehman ayats 14,15----55:14 He created the human (initially) out of sounding inorganic matter, like pottery.55:15 And the Jinns: He has created out of smokeless fire (with an unstable fiery disposition).------Jinn pertains to something hidden, rarely seen, therefore, after using Tasreef, Al-Jinn = The nomads. Jannah from the same root word means a garden hidden in foliage. When the Jinns or the nomads move to dwell in towns and become civilized, they are referred to as Ins = Urbanites. Among the verses referred to above, Jinn, at times, denotes the hidden evil prompting that goes on in the human mind. In the sense of flashes of evil prompting, Jinncan be understood as Satan in minor forms. Satan = Selfish or rebellious desires works in concert with destructive emotions which have been described as being fiery in the Jahiliyah poetry. 'Emotions being fiery' stands up to reason. Verse 21:37 convincingly shows what the ‘creation of Jinn out of fire’ actually means. Using exactly the same terms khuliq and min it states Khuliq-al-insaanu min ‘ajal. Literally that would translate as: He created man out of haste. Whereas the clear understanding is: Man has been created with a tendency to be hasty and looking for instant gains or results. Such is the case in 21:37 with Khulaq-al-jaanna mim-maarij-im-min naar - Breaking the sentence for clarity: Khulaq-al-jaanna min marijin min naar. He has given a fiery, emotional disposition to uncivilized human beings. 55:15

j-n-n describes anything very far away, distant, out of senses, out of perception, unknown, unfamiliar, darkened to a person, etc. Qur'an is very clear, but we should follow a context in which any word is used. As for jinn, its meaning is "a stranger, an unknown person", and as for jinnet, meaning is "strange, unknown", and also as a collective noun for jinn (ie. a group of jinn); if words are used as el-jinn and el-jinnet, meanings are "particular group of jinn" and "all of jinnet (all unknown or all of the strangers)". For example, in surah Jinn el-jinn are strangers (Coptic Christians from Egypt) came to hear what the Qur'an is saying about them (verb used is isteme'a not semi'a); in the last verse of last surah Nas el-jinnet is all unknown, all which we do not know, of which we're seeking a protection of its evil (en-nas in the same verse is all which can be forgotten). As a passive mejnoon, it's a person who acts strange (ie. as a madman or somebody who talks strange things, unknown to him or listeners). As a potential jaann, it describes anything which can be (or not be) of jinn, people or things; it's used for a snake 'cause it can hide itself, or soul which can be hidden so others can't see what is deep in us. A word junnet is used twice as "a cover", for the people who make oaths to cover themselves; only one verb is used jenne in same meaning "to cover". Noun ejinnet is used once also, meaning "fetuses" (we're covered inside our mothers). Meaning in a particular verse should be understood only from the context the word is used. We should accept Allah as our Rabb, to teach us what we do not know, and leave the Jews, Persians and others with their fairy-tales and ethos. Jennet is from a similar root j-n-y, which means "to ripe", and it can be about plants or humans also (ie. maturity).

Even the bozons, photons, and other particles and forces like the gravity, electromagnetism, weak nuclear forces, strong nuclear forces are comprehendable and observable, even if its theoretical. There are different ranks of angels like the malaikatu al-muqarrabun in verse 4:172 that would never even think of disobeying God, but angels have free will and some of the lower angels disobey. At several places in the Quran, the words جِنٌّ (jinn) and اَنْسٌ (ins) have come together in the same sentence. In the heading (A-N-S) we have already said اَنْسٌ (ins) among the Arabs meant the tribes that settled permanently at one place, and جِنٌّ (jinn) were the tribes which roamed from place to place and were thus not seen by many. They are also called Nomadic tribes. Even today, such tribes move about jungles and deserts away from the usual population, but due to the information explosion many things have become common between them and the general population. Therefore there is no basic enmity between them, but in the times when the information explosion had not taken place, the lives of these Nomadic tribes and the usual population differed so much in their culture and ways of living that they seemed to be from two different worlds. There were many such tribes among the Arabs. They were called baddu or airaab. Since Quranic message was for both, therefore jinn and ins both are addressed. Upon deliberation on this, it becomes clear that by جِنٌّ (jinn), it was also meant the humans or اَنْسٌ (ins), or those wild tribes who lived in the jungles or the deserts.

But this ’self’ is vulnerable to the evil prompting of its own intrinsic selfish desire or that of extrinsic sources. In that situation the ’self’ rebels against the higher controls of human judgment, and more importantly, against the revealed Moral Values. This rebellious state of the ’self’ has the ability to rationalize its desire and emotions through the intellect. And this rebellious state of the ‘Ego’ is Satan or Iblees. It was this Iblees that refused to humble itself to the higher human controls of judgment and Divine Commands. Incidentally, the Qur’an nowhere mentions a human ’soul’, ’spirit’ or ’spirituality’. Iblees = Deprivation = Hopelessness = Frustration = Desperation and regret = Rebellious state of the human ’self’ that drifts away from the Divine Commands, but wishes to escape personal responsibility by blaming God for its own misdeeds. 00:00 🤔 The term "jinn" in the Quran is not clearly defined and can have various meanings, often beyond human understanding. 01:27 😇 Some scholars believe that Iblis, mentioned in the Quran, is not a jinn but a fallen angel, challenging the common perception of jinn. 03:05 🌌 The concept of jinn could be related to entities existing within different dimensions or fields, similar to how physics explores various forces and particles. 05:40 🧒 It's like explaining complex concepts to a child; simplifications are made to grasp the idea, but they may not reflect reality accurately. 08:45 🌌 Understanding physics, especially astrophysics, can bring us closer to comprehending the broader reality, including concepts like jinn, as science and religion are interconnected.

I think you struggled with this one. I just wonder why Allah mentioned the word jinn multiple times in the Quran if they were as abstract as photons, gravity .then one questions the logic behind this communication like that in surah rahman challenging mankind and jinns.how can allah be talking to elements that cannot hear not to talk of reasoning. I find it difficult to believe that the people who lived with the prophet would comprehend this. Did they ask questions?. Were they confused ?. Did the prophet understand it the way you tried to explain it. While the conventional reason may be flawed, your explanation has a lot holes in it . And I noticed you have been trying to solve this puzzle for over 6 yrs telling from your previous videos. Allahu aalam.

Quantum mechanics speaks also of parallel creation that mimics are own that in fact that is a possibility I repeat a creation like ours that in fact could possibly have another’s exact copy of yourself Allah did say that he has created ALL things in pairs that which you can see and that which you can not see that’s with the gin as e we’d otherwise the Chapter the gin I see it as a metaphor for movement of celestial structures in outer space such as as comets . Meteorites and all large objects moving at high speed in space as they do by the virtue of there existence pose a threat to this earth . I mean do you really believe Allah was going to explain these things in a manor that illucidate all the particulars of physics using terminology in words not part of linguistic communication I think not

So likewise Iblees isn't Malaa'ka. Also with the case above, ilm is in kasra and ittibaa' is fatha.
