What Is Yuji's Awakening?

Yuji Itadori has finally awakened. Now I gotta get this out before we begin but, I know the Yuta fans are not happy after theorizing this was gonna happen to him for the last 100 chapters of the series, but aye he’s gonna have his moment when he returns trust. Anyway, as we can see, Yuji lands his first Black Flash in a while against Sukuna; which seems to be an absolutely devastating blow, and we can see that he’s really locked in, his pupils displaying a strange look to them, similar to Sukuna’s as the chapter closes with it stating that he’s awakened due to hitting another black flash. What can his awakening actually be? Well, we’re gonna get into that with 4 different guesses in this video. I personally think he already has Sukuna technique but it’s not what we think. Sukuna main ability is most likely gaining power through eating people/cures gaining strength and techniques from doing it. His domain is a storage for techniques he has consumed. Think he can modify the techniques instead of being a one to one copy of them. More likely he puts his own spin on it, making stronger. I see Yuji having something similar gaining strength through eating curses/curse objects and instead of eating people his interaction with people soul allows him to take there technique. I see this happening with Megumi maybe he pulls him out the body put doesn’t feel he can fight or just wants to be with sister Yuji helps him pass but keeps left of his technique. I have his domain being similar to Sukuna ,but has a different technique instead of cleave and dismantle. Wouldn’t be crazy if he has invisible punches potentially black flash punches hitting you, but it’s more directed. I also don’t think it’s crazy black flash becomes a kind of technique for him doing it a lot more frequently almost like he had it a technique.

well basically how blackflash works its essentially crit hit with fist/kick infused perfectly with cursed energy with low chance to hit crit deals 120% of regular infused fist which is not reinforced by using cursed energy .The person who hits it gets additional bonuses of being in the zone such as getting better understanding of curse energy,cursed technique or even soul (in cases of yuji or mahito).Divergent fist yuji used in first season is the exact opposite of it ,its delayed hit of cursed energy,shortening the delay of divergent fist helps you get closer to the ability to deal critical hit .

The thing about having access to what I would see as essentially pure and unlimited cursed energy from this other realm is it's not too broken on Yuji as of right now. He may have that uncapped power but he's not really got any techniques to abuse it with, he has blood control and stuff but that's it as of now in terms of ranged attacks he can really use. So while in hand to hand he'd be a beast, he wouldn't be unbeatable by a long shot until he learns more techniques to be able to use that power with.

I'm going with mastery of Blood Manipulation. We've already seen what an afficionado looks like with 10S and Limitless. Would be nice to see one from the other big clan. This will probably augment his offensive and defensive baseline stats. Increased blood flow to organs for higher speed and strength# better CE control, and perception. Higher proficiency with RCT healing that rivals the strongest, perhaps even Hakari. Proficiency with all the techniques we've seen Choso use in offensive and defensive ways. Domain Expansion: *Catch These Hands*. No CTs allowed, just boxing. I don't see it being a Dismantle/Cleave. We already seen Yuta do it and while it was cool, was ultimately a blip in the fight.

I think him having a more monstrous form could actually still work as it could still play into how far he would go for his humanity, to the point where he’s discarded his human appearance. Though, I do agree, I would like it better if he stays mostly human in appearance. My theory is, Yuji will go through more than one awakening similar to how Maki did. I think one will be an enlightenment like Gojo and the other maybe a more physical evolution. Also his enlightenment doesn’t have to be cracked out or represent Buddha, he can represent literally any other deity or ideology and the way he expresses this enlightenment can stay chill like in the same energy as the “I’m you.” moment.

My idea of a monstrous form is he locks in his blood manipulation skills so well he starts being able to extend it to his body. Then as sukuna manages to get away and use world slash we see a panel of yuji getting cut in half and sukuna smiling to himself then suddenly yuji puting himself back together, and as he gets sliced to bits by sukuna he just walks through it and his body becomes covered in blood and he just heals through it all, looking like a human shaped cloud of blood running towards sukuna. Yuji puts his heart, his soul, his mind and body into killing sukuna, turning himself into a monster that transcends humanity- and he achieves true immortality, without relying on anyone else.

One thing Gege is good at is character development, he is not unlocking a powerful transformation, he just accepted himself as a freak who kills curses, basically the black flash unlocked his full potential, logically speaking if he unlocks new techniques it won't be in this fight cuz it is impossible utilize them with no training, so i believe he did learn them during the training Gege skipped and thats a reason for why he did.

Regarding the arms he’s got. I have a funny feeling that is what choso meant regarding giving yuji something to help use convergence. If it’s a cursed tool that is likely the case that its innate technique allows the user to manipulate blood. Which explains why yuji bites down on it when we first see him with the new hands. I still think his technique is both blood and soul manipulation. People seem to have completely forgotten the soul swapping thing going on with yuji ever since blood manipulation was all but confirmed. So I don’t think his curse tool was meant for shaking sukuna’s connection with his vessel. I’m just hoping this awakening results in him pulling off those insane feats he did when he lost it at sukuna, I wanna see the fight progress from building to building for shits and giggled

I think that the cursed realm idea is interesting but I’ll build off of that We saw in the anime (not definitive but a good way to put it into context) when yuji lands his first black flash, it appears to have distorted space to a sort of white abyss and the whole water droplet effect. I think that’s the cursed realm. It would also make sense when jogo died, he was appearing in the cursed realm momentarily before getting sent to the human realm and dying like he did. Sukuna sent jogo there to comfort his soul to make sure he can’t come back. My theory is that yuji cannot only access innate domains like sukuna, but will also awaken to the cursed realm. Every punch that lands slowly separating megumi and sukuna until yuji and sukuna go one on one in the cursed realm. But most shonen manga would have the hero win, but gege doesn’t exactly care about killing off his characters. I think that yuji will sacrifice himself in the cursed realm to trap sukuna and lock him away forever, with no bodies left to possess or fingers left to eat, yuji will die the way he always wanted. Surrounded by the ones he loves.

Yuji, however, was on the ground for a few seconds every time he got hit with Cleave, and he had to heal what he himself described as lethal damage (and he didn't even heal fully because he was pushing himself past his limit and rushing the healing process so he wouldn't stay down for too long). Like, not to downplay Yuji, he's amazing and spectacular, but he ain't throwing Sukuna across the streets simply by lifting and spinning a sword like Maki was, she totally dominates on physical power even if you include Yuji's CE reinforcements.

I think it’s actually more hype than anything that Yuji not gain any new techniques other than simply landing more and more black flashes and becoming better, stronger, and faster every time he does so. Sukuna gradually feels his ideals being eroded with every black flash Yuji lands and is finally forced to acknowledge Yuji as his greatest opponent. Maybe Yuji reminds him of someone from his past and disillusions Sukuna about his own mentality, causing Sukuna to die definitionless and lost (much in the same way Mahito did) It’s so poetic. We’ve known about Black Flash for so long. Everyone knows about it. In the end, it’s not some crazy technique or world ending force that takes Sukuna down. It’s the simple concept of a CE punch that will lead to Sukuna’s undoing. Yuji’s cursed technique will be called Jujutsu Kaisen, or “An Endless Battle of Curses”. Kaisen I’ve also seen can be interpreted as “Continuous Self-Improvement”, which is represented both through Black Flash and Yuji.

I don’t know if this would make sense or not. But to expand on ur cursed realm theory, when he hits a certain number of black flashes in a certain period of time, he slowly starts to gain more access to the cursed realm with the number of black flashes he hits. For instance, let’s say over the course of 2 minutes, yuji hits 4 black flashes, he then gains a bit of access to the cursed realm which would only allow him to give himself a small boost in cursed energy. Then, in the next 5 minutes, he would continue to hit multiple black flashes and would gain more access to boost himself more. Now I’m gonna apply this to this fight. Yuji gains the bit of access to the realm after hitting a few black flashes on sukuna. Then, over the course of the entire fight from there on, he hits more and more black flashes which would eventually boost him to match sukuna or surpass sukuna, which would end the fight. This is just a concept but let me know what y’all think. Edit: adding more to the concept of the fight. Sukuna eventually regains of cursed energy output to unleash his domain. Yuji gains enough access to the cursed realm to realize his domain. Now this might be how the battle will end. They both unleash they’re domains. Sukuna thinks he can break yuji’s domain but yuji’s domain sure hit effect will be black flashes, which would also apply the reduction of the target’s cursed energy output that yuji does when he punches sukuna. The fight would somehow end from there. (I may have screwed this up a bit I’m sorry)

Gege’s one-shot series called “No.9” has a character who has this ability. JJK’s characters are based off of this one-shot so it’s not far fetched to think that some of the abilities aren’t. He CT might actually be called Storage
