I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram. No CEL, no oil leaks. I'm never selling it. BTW, I do all my own maintenance.

Do a video on your warehouse. I'm up to 6 vehicles now and need to start thinking of secure off-site storage away from my house. It would be nice to see how you store the cars, keeping the tires from getting flat spots, charging the batteries, etc.

Good idea, I will work on that

Be glad you dont have half the vehicles under an oak tree. I dont want to pull a permit and put up a whitetrash looking carport but I dont want to shell out the cash for something nice when it will be unlevel, unconditioned, and skinny, meaning I still have to move a car out to get to another, and so on. I got a storage container for 1 and park the bike at office. Leaves me with three and no garage and too much nature. Seeing debris in my cowls makes me want to jump off a building. Tree sap gives me nightmares. Oh well.

Another great video, Glenn. You're lucky you bought that car before prices went up. Good find.

You have one of my favourite cars of all time , the 993 turbo is amazing. The colour is what I would get too if not black.i subbed for this car .

I bought a cheap 993 1995 for 25k cash in 2009. Fast foward 7 months...7500 bucks in maint. Rear breaks, rear tires, two cats, and plugs and wires, and fluids changed. I went ahead and talked them into two more tire for free, a 500 dollars value with install. It had 70k miles on it. It still needed work but was drivable. One rainy day going to see a friend I made a decision to get T boned or steer towards a pole. I chose the pole...

Sorry to hear. My car had $7,500 in maintenance just before I bought it from the previous seller. New brakes, tires, clutch, rebuild turbos. Been great and reliable since I have had it.

I have unfortunately been having some stinky luck. I know what you mean about rotating cars but on a smaller level. Maintaining is all I do. The more money you have the easier it is to save money and or make better buys. 2014 Focus St 2014 Is 350 1987 944 Turbo 2004 Rx 330 2006 R6

I had one for 2 years. It was a well maintained car with 40K miles on it. If something breaks it can be pretty expensive to repair. I had to replace the steering rack and work on the A/C. I really liked it, but I think the title of this video is misleading.

As an engineer with nearly 40 years of experience, I don't believe that 3 years and 4,000 miles (on one car) is enough a sample size of data (your experience with this car) for an accurate indication of cost (reliability) for all similar cars. The sample size is just too small. This one car hasn't been driven and/or used enough to make an accurate prediction of overall cost of ownership. You can analyze short term data, for short term reliability and cost results on multiple cars, ut you simply can't draw a long term conclusion for a particular model from a short term data sample size of one car. Good Luck!

You are correct, it is not enough of a sample size, just my ownership cost so far. We will see what the future brings. Thank you for subscribing.

mariodesmo I have a 911 and do 5,000 miles a year. And it is costing between £800 and £2,000 a year in maintenance mainly on wear and rear items as it's an d car and things wear out if you use them.
@noobymcnoobs7 жыл бұрын
mariodesmo it's probably also worth pointing out the value has gone up by about the same as the costs so if I ever sell it the car will have been free except for fuel and insurance.

My feelings exactly, so this observation (of video) does not represent real world cost advice... Maybe good for people who do similar type mileage in same number of years, but for some one doing 2-3k miles a year then that would be useful info.

Hi Glenn, thanks for sharing your great car. Maybe I've miss it, but how much did you pay for this car?
@seang28227 жыл бұрын
Glenn, thanks for sharing. I am not sure you have the numbers right. 993 turbo was made from 95-98. So more than twice the numbers you state were made and still on roads worldwide. They are super reliable and am not sure why you say window switches go easily. Also pretty sure the original 993 turbo wheels are hollow spoke too. I mean all of this in the nicest way.. and not aiming to be offensive. I love these cars and have had one since 2009..so agree these cars are cheap to maintain if you get a good one.. I am not sure about $300 a year though. I think it's more like $1,000 a year on average if you want to allow for routine maintenance and replacement of wear and tear items.. tires, belts, wipers, rubber hoses, clutch, ac service etc...plus the odd repair and get them done at a specialist or dealer with oem parts. Anyways good luck.

The 993 is the best body style from Porsche 911. Unfortunately Porsche only made a few and the generations that followed were overly bubbly and bulky looking, hideously ugly. I’d love a 993 but I’m not gonna pay the price they’re asking lmao fuck that, are you kidding...180K for the turbo model, no thanks. I’ll get a Ferrari
