Stevie Wynne Levine started working with @rhettandlink way back in 2013, and the company has grown to over 100 employees since. Now she's the Chief Creative Officer for all of Mythical Entertainment. In this episode, Jack and Stevie sit down to discuss how she finds and develops talent, her advice for beginning creators, and what it's like running @GoodMythicalMorning.

I hope Stevie goes down as one of the legends of the internet. I think Rhett + Link would agree that Stevie is responsible for shaping GMM/Mythical into the behemoth of digital content its been and continues to be. Thanks Jack for having her on and thanks Stevie for being willing to let us peak behind the curtain!

@@CaptainNamikaze People watch for Rhett and Link more than anything. It is their chemistry and personalities that make them successful. As far as GMM writing goes, it's a constant up and down between being good and mediocre. Only reason their large amounts of mediocre episodes do well is because of Rhett and Link. They do all the heavy lifting.

I’m really glad this video was suggested to me because it’s so interesting and amazing to learn that gmm runs so smoothly and is so timeless really because of her mostly. She’s so talented and her mind really is something. Also, knowing she encourages people moving up through the ranks is just so great. I already really liked her, but I have so much more respect for Stevie after this.

It's really easy to forget how important she is to running the operation when the viewers just see her as the background voice in the videos. The audience really got to see her strengths and her personality when she was hosting LTAT (a weekly casual show called "Let's Talk About That" where Rhett and Link did no prep or had any knowledge of topics). I really wish that kept going, but totally understand it took a lot of her time. We all saw R&L grow over the years, but also with Stevie as well. It's great to see

I'm not in the industry so I've never really understood the role of a producer but I've been a fan of GMM for the last ~8 years and at this point Stevie's voice represents the show just as much as Rhett and Link's do, for me. It's so cool to hear from her about all the work she does behind the scenes and I'm very glad she took the chance on Rhett and Link in 2013!! Mythical absolutely wouldn't be what it is now, and something that I love so much, if it wasn't for Stevie.

The thing I love about GMM is that, once you understand what the show is, obviously Rhett and Link are the faces, but you learn to appreciate every member of the crew and just how they make it all happen. But Stevie is like the third part of R&L. I mean she's the god voice and in a lot of ways plays a mom role. But again, the whole crew is awesome, and I look forward to 6AM every day.

Stevie seems like a great boss. you trust her to be empathetic, but she's still clearly a strong, confident person that isn't going to be a big pushover. she seems like one of those bosses that you love but you're still rightfully intimidated by. like she'll immediately approve your vacation days, but she'll give you a stern, yet respectful talking to if you fuck up.

I'm so glad to finally have some sort of piece ABOUT Stevie and just her, because we of course know how important she is, but since she's not the big face, every time she's in an interview she's there with both R&L. So she answers some stuff or she's behind the camera laughing, but we don't get to hear just in her words how much work has been going on behind scenes. Like, I've heard them tell the story about YT "cancelling" the Mythical show and they asking her to stay even without that even though what she originally joined them for was a completely different concept and she would've been so much in her right to say "No, sorry. This is not what I wanted to do with my time and I'll go into some other project". But now we get to hear in her own words how that transition felt from "scripted content on a big budget show" to "Daily videos on the Internet" and it makes so much sense now that she didn't just say yes, she said "Yes, but this is what I want from the content so that it fits better with my creative choices" and they reached the format that we see now. From "random topic we saw just the headline for and now we'll read the rest of the article as content" to "We select a topic, and we do something with that (call it a game, a will it, we attempt to recreate it in an entertaining way)"

There is a legitimate authenticity to the GMM team and I really think the secret is that. So much in entertainment is built on a facade, has zero actual trust - both interpersonally and creatively, and ends up being ruled by the algo. Its inspiring to see a team that trusts each other and allows themselves to see a creative vision through. The payoff is evident here. Im a musician and there are a lot of parallels and lessons to be applied in that world from Stevie

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Stevie. Sooooo much! I've been a religious Good Mythical Morning fan since i got a blood infection and spent my recovery watching them from start to finish. Even tho it's cliche to hear and for people to say, they really did help me thru a tough time in my life, and even tho it's one of those parasocial things, the way they present their show.. its like hanging out with 2 friends at first.. n now as the show has grown, i've fallen in love with all the cast members. And it hurts to see when ones leave. (like Jen and a few of the guys earlier on). One thing that Stevie adds to the shows... is her infectious laugh. While most corny TV shows have laugh tracks, Good Mythical Morning has a Stevie laugh track. Only... it's a true organic one, not a forced laugh track. Because she's laughing at the stuff I do. She's such an integral part of the show (despite how much she oversees n manages).

Awesome Mythical suggestions lately. Loved this! Very inspirational and want to add that I always felt the organic and genuine nature of their business model was exactly what we all needed in entertainment
