I love it. I was the laboring woman on a helicopter. Their personal rule was that if the baby was born in the air, it had to be named after them. Haha. I had them write down their names so I would never forget - I still have it in my wallet. Now I am an aspiring flight nurse myself. ❤️

I didn’t make weight but it’s okay. I ended up grossing $170,000 last year in my staff gig. Wouldn’t have made half that money flying.

Current nursing student, got to see the second hand reaction of a colleague who saw the flight nurse at tbe trauma center where we do our clinicaks and even im in awe. Im definitely not creme of the crop for my conort, but this interview has inspired me to definitely apply/push my limits further to see if when I find my bearings as a licensed nurse i can grow and be capable of a position like this

Love to hear that. You have everything you need in yourself to be successful at this job. If you want something bad enough, you can absolutely get it if you put the work in!

I just came across your channel. I was just a LPN ( 23 years). I love the honesty and humility between the both of you. It is refreshing. And the questions were really good. I subscribed.

Hannah, Im loving the flightsuit and most importantly congratulations on 1 year and 9 days. I’m currently on a ED travel assignment in Orlando and just applied to challenge the FL PMD exam. I’m an RN EMT-B and it’s my dream to fly. That’s the Ideal location! I’d love to be somewhere where I can provide that admirable type of care to people down the street, if you know what I mean.

Is it easy for an RN to get paramedic qualifications in the US? In Australia we have registered nurses and registered paramedics. Both require a Bachelor, and many who graduate with a Bachelor of Paramedicine also have a Bachelor of Nursing for greater flexibility in the industry. EMT level is technically illegal here.

What a great interview. For a working holiday have you considered working as a Flight Nurse with RFDS in outback Australia? Apart from IFTs they also do emergency medical responses in remote locations beyond the reach of road or helicopter ambulances.
