Well reading these comments has calmed me down a bit lol....I've really gone hard cutting sugar out of my life recently. Gone from probably 250g of sugar a day to about 35gs the past 2 weeks and now I'm down to about 8gs a day maybe even less. This is just crazy how I feel almost like a diabetic...but reading other people's experiences has called me down, anyone reading this, were you worried you had type 2 diabetes when cutting sugar out of your life? I've watched videos of symptoms and it just doesn't seem like I have it. I have felt absolutely amazing the past 2 weeks, but cutting my sugar intake down to 8gs is without question the craziest, worst feeling experience of my life. But I want to get threw this sugar addiction more then I want my next breath

How u doing ? I have a lot of exposition fasting over the years , so I can relate I think it’s easy to maybe make changes faster than our body likes when we are pumped up to make positive change A lot of people feel horrible even fasting , but if they stepped down into a bit more gradually a lot of the negative symptoms would be reduced or even eliminated

It is so hard. For many of us there is a much larger psychological/emotional disorder underneath. I feel like for some of us the sugar dependence is just one aspect of an eating disorder. Trying to “just quit” when no one takes sugar dependence seriously is so overwhelming. I am only 2 days in (and am still eating fruit and bread in moderation) and I could just sob all day if I wasn’t so exhausted. It has exacerbated my depression 10 fold. Thank you for discussing this reality openly.

I’ve quit both before. Heroin withdrawal is the kind of pain that will cause you to steal from your own mother and sell your body for drugs, it’s crawl out of your skin bad. Sugar withdrawals is not even close, to me it’s similar to quitting smoking. Sugar withdrawal you have more nagging cravings and hunger pangs you have to resist, anxiety, fatigue and irritability and just feeling down and restless.

Man, going through it right now- again. I'm textbook junkie, always have to have SOMETHING. I got off benzos, I got off booze, been sober for a year now, but sugar? It's aaaalmost as hard as combined sedative-hypnotic withdrawal in its own way, if you can imagine that. Oh sure it won't give you a seizure like getting off benzos and booze will, but holy crap its still miserable. With benzos at least you can do it slowly, if you got the determination. But I find with booze and sugar, man. It's cold turkey, or I just go on a 2 week bender. Anyway, thanks' for sharing this, its good to know I'm not alone, as horrible as that sounds

I’ve been eating plant based for a few years now and I decided yesterday that I would give up dark chocolates that I usually have every now and then and of course anything that has added sugar. It’s day 2 and so far the only thing that I’ve been experiencing is tiredness and being cold from time to time. Cravings have been mild. Not sure if it’s because its day 2 or if it’s because the only sugar that I mostly consume is from fruits. I’ll keep you posted and let you know how it goes in a few weeks.

@@Plethorality That person doesn't know what they're talking about. I can attest to lingering withdrawal symptoms, sometimes referred to as PAWS. You're definitely not alone. Whether it's from sugar, drugs, caffeine, etc. it's all difficult to stop. Obviously we watched this video for a reason. To get off sugar. I'm just not so sure going cold turkey is the way to do it. Not for me personally, I'm trying to wean off. Good luck to you! Edit: Anxiety meds DO help. Yes, Benzos. When taken responsibly. If you have an addictive personality you may want to steer clear. I do, but have not had an issue with those meds. And some antidepressants can help with anxiety. I've been on both now for several years. My combination, after some trial and error, is Klonopin and Wellbutrin. If you have it in you to work out, that helps a lot with anxiety. Running also. Or just plain walking fast. Walking my dog (quickly, couldn't help it) was my go-to for anxiety/panic attacks. Before I was put on meds
