I am dating a visually impaired girl. I feel quite proud to stand by her hands down. She is a gorgeous person inside and out regardless if she can partially see and requires a cane. I agree dating her has also opened my eyes to the community more. I feel as though there is a purpose for this... which I may never know... but I am glad to be able to date this girl.... we'll see where things end up for us. Thank you for your advice and view points!!!

Just found your channel today! Thank you so much. I am legally blind but I have a lot of sight and perfect color vision. I am married (47 years) and I am an artist, mom to four and Grandma to 7. My eyes don't look normal - they move and cross and I look very close at my work. I've been blessed to be surrounded by a wonderful husband and family. After 67 years, rude people still bother me. I am just buying my first cane to help with stability-a short wood red and white cane. That is how I found you.

You and Ethan reminded me so much of me and my boyfriend (we're both sighted), he's very shy and I'm very talkative and also expect more and more words from anything he says, so I truly appreciate Ethan making an effort for your viewers. I don't think he's an angel for marrying you or vice versa, I think you're perfect for each other. Love is about patience and understanding, I think you guys got both!!

I did a KZbin search and found your video among many and THANK YOU (all caps)! I just started a relationship with a sight-impaired woman I haven't seen in 15 years. She was interested in me, back then, but I was reluctant to start a relationship because I'd just finished raising two sons with sickle cell disease and I didn't think I was up to the task to transition to an intimate relationship with someone with a disability. Almost a month ago, now, we found each other again through a phone personal ad! We didn't recognize each other until I gave my real name with my number on a second message to connect. This time, she stated, "I'm not going to lose you again", and she wanted to pick up where we left off, 15 years ago. Unfortunately, my sons both passed away 10 and 11 years ago, respectively, and a lot has happened in the 15 years since she and I last encountered. I'm "rested" from raising my sons and have have experienced things to better equip me than 15 years ago like finish college and grad school for better employment in my soon-to-be sixties. We were able to quickly become partners because of our age and history of knowing each other We both are very communicative and candid, wasting no time getting through the relationship "preliminaries!" I have the spiritual gift of discernment and ask tons of questions, while her sight impairment has enhanced her listening skills, tremendously, allowing her to "read" people precisely. She lost her sight completely by her 30s, so she is not as independent as Cayla, which is why I'm looking at KZbin videos We both are people of faith and believe that it was not a mere coincidence that the Lord brought us back together. Sorry, this is so long, but your video was very helpful and I just had to share my two cents that's turned into five cents! LOL I'll be watching more of your channel, along with others! Thanks, again!

Loved watching this video and you guys are so cute together! I've been visually impaired it since 2011 and while I haven't learned how to use a cane, it's very true that when you're familiar with your surroundings you can get really good for memorization. When I was going to college, I memorized where the pathways were versus the grass or I follow the groups of people because I knew that was the walkway until I got it right. I got so good at it that I remember classmates telling me I was lying about being blind since I also didn't have a cane with me. But it's just what you are familiar with really, when you don't know a surrounding and you can't tell what's under your feet or what's in front of you or you have it memorized then it's going to be more obvious that you have a vision impairment. Thank you for all the wonderful videos that you are doing!

Hi! Congratulations on two years of marriage! those are great ideas. Unfortunately we don’t really have any kind of public transportation where we live. For me, the worst thing about dating a blind person. I have strong attachments to places rather than people and my way of showing love is to share the places that are special to me with my person. It is heartbreaking that we cant have that shared experience and while I adore my person it still makes me really sad that I cannot share that deep connection and love.

Joshua Brande that’s a good question. I think we are both very good at verbal communication, and Ethan knows that I can’t pick up on visual cues so he has gotten used to being verbal. I also think we are very in tune with each other, so a lot of times I can just feel his emotions. Like I know if he is sad or angry by just sensing it in the way he is acting or the tone of his voice

I wish I could convince my wife to do something like this. Blind husband and whatnot. Edit: Biggest misconception question. My thinking "Oh god, he's going to do the whole "I have to take care of her" thing. Please no." Busts out the savior trope. I like your husband! He's as sharp as you are, Cayla! That trope never gets mentioned and it really should. My wife gets the "settled on" trope sometimes too. Edit2: And then you loop around to the caretaker trope anyway, lmao. Edit3: Just because he's not disabled doesn't mean he's not as damaged and bugshit crazy as you are :P The way I put it to the wife and to people who ask: Everyone is crazy. The trick is to find someone with whom your crazies match. Edit4: Best thing about having a blind wife? I SAW THAT GRIN, ETHAN!

And people get confused that are you independent or do you need assistance all the time because they're percent with Kayla and I don't think you're useless I don't think you can't function on your own you seem like a very careful person like a function on your own and that needs to be noted

You guys are a cute couple. Have you heard of Aira? If you haven’t or have not signed up for a plan and want some free minutes let me know. I can give you my code for that. Anyways, it might help you to be even more independent. They can help with online shopping, telling you if your Lyft or Uber is around or even if you are trying to match things clothing wise.

Cayla my situation is a little similar but my wife gets annoyed sometimes bc I can't drive eitger... by the way what is your email address? I have a story for you
@jordanmahonytheblindworld84835 жыл бұрын
CPR Computer well in my opinion your wife shouldn't hold that against you because you can't drive however there are Mojo transportation but depends where you live in America so maybe that's something you should think about
