Dude my brother has a 2002 gt mustang but it’s like a dark reddish (the official color is laser red) he put new gears in the back and a cold air intake so it makes roughly 270 horsepower. That thing is a blast to ride in. Honestly my favorite generation of mustang!

I have an 04 mach1 that does almost 700 to the rear wheels. My wife just got a 2000 gt. So far the plans are full suspension. Just like on the mach1. Forged bottom end. Tfs twisged wedge heads, cams. A procharger or on3 turbo. Havent decided yet. If we do a procharger. Then it will be long tube headers. I have a set of off h pipes here and an extra magnaflow catback. Of course all the needed fuel parts. To finish it off. Upgraded axles in the back as well. I have 31 spline axles now. They have held up to the power quite well. She will need a converter since its an auto car.

Smart move w the h pipe everyone always goes x but h sounds better imo. I have an 07 gt500 it did 740/733 to the tire with a gen3r I have arh long tubes and offroad hpipe w borla stingers it sounds ungodly. Video on my channel.

I’ve almost got my mustang done. It’s a 2000. It’s not going to be anything special tho. Just Modular head shop stage 2 cams and valve springs then the spintech side exit exhaust and a tubular k member. Just waiting for it to be less than 110 degrees all day everyday.

Make sure you throw some subframe connectors and at least some tubular/boxed rear lower control arms

Maximum Motorsport full length subframe connectors, are a great choice, but any full length weld in will do, and Maximum Motorsport rear lower control arms weight jackers are really nice, they have an adjustable spring perch so you can adjust your ride height on springs… These 2 mods will stabilize your launch and help prevent snap oversteer, the subframe connectors are a must to prevent floor pan sag, door alignment issues and twisting, which all happen over time with these unibody cars, once you put those connectors on, your frame is complete and all those terrible things that can considerably lower the value, looks, feel and performance of your car are no longer a worry/problem..

Also do a lot of research on the old mustang forums before any modification purchase, I have heard of some problems with shifting of the engine to one side and certain control arm fitment issues with certain K members.. Although k members are a great modification for auto cross, they truly aren’t something that desirable for a street car, they are a decent amount of labor to put in they aren’t as strong as the factory K members and they change the ride of the car… I’m not telling you to go either way with it, just do a good week worth of research during your free time at least with every mod you do, and you won’t be disappointed, your car will be out handling vettes in no time.. a full maximum Motorsport vette killer handling kit will make you SN95 out perform many Porsche’s and Ferrari’s, there is a motortrend article online that tested and discusses this in detail online..

The Subfram Connectors are worth it. My White 2V didn’t have them but this car does and it’s very noticeable driving at high speeds. Car is straight and stable asf

I own an 07 gt500 and I do not endorse this behavior AT ALL. Mine isn't my daily but I still do 6-7k a year or close to it I put as many miles on it as I do my "daily" which is a 2016 fiesta st fbo x37 hybrid tuned on e30. It did 740/733 to the tire with a gen3r and it's got 128k on it. I think the mileage is like a badge of honor. Alot of Shelby guys do waste their cars away and it annoys the shit out of me lol. *edit* Owned it for 39 months (may 2020) and I've put 19k on it so that is 487 miles per month or 5800 miles per year on a car that isn't even my daily lol. She gets used alot. I hate how Shelby owners waste their cars away
