@@prestonsarlo one thing you can do to give it a blacked out look without the Mach 1 grill delete is check out the 2001 Bullit. I originally thought it had a grill delete on it but up close you see alls ford did was remove the chrome trim ring around the pony, thus having a blacked out grill that keeps the honeycomb. Nice car, I have a 2004 GT which I noticed you had the 40th badges on it, I bought it new from the dealer. It's got only 62,000 on it.

You are right, I dont like the rear louvers, side scoops nor the rear diffuser. Just not my style. I feel you missed out talking about the tint, pin stripes and red mustang lettering. The 10 cheap mods Ive done to my car if you care to know 1. Smoked sequential tail lights 2. Exhaust, mine is headers back so little more pricey 3. Steeda short throw shifter 4. Lowering Springs 5. Wheels/tires I went 17x9 275 all around and 1/4" rear spacer to get rid of that tuck 6. Cobra R front bumper, but really wish it was a 99/01 Cobra with the Mach 1 chin spoiler 7. I did silver mustang lettering for my Black Bullitt 8. 2.5 cowl but kept original hood scoop, I think a shaker set up would be awesome but I am also Procharged so that wouldnt be functional in my case 9. Had a cold air intake but that went away with the procharger 10. Gears and a tune i was 4.10 NA now 3.73 But thats my list. Best thing about these cars is the ability to customize them to ones own personality

How is the ride in the 4.10 vs. 3.73 and why did you decide to switch

@@SCxItachi when I was NA the 4.10's were great, really helped that 265hp get up to speed. I had them for about 10 yrs and had no issue in town or on NY-NC-NY highway trips getting 24mpg highway. I went to 3.73 (3.55 probably could have been better) only after adding a procharger. With the extra 125 whp (dynod 265 before 390 after) I found I wasnt really needing 1st gear anymore so made the change.

@sammiches68599 ай бұрын
1996 was a terrible looking model year, but if you like it, don't let them discourage you. With age there's more likely things that will fail, since corrosion and parts breakdown are an issue. If it was used in the summers only, kept in a garage, and well maintained, I doubt you'll have that much trouble. I just bought a y2k V6 that was sitting for 4 years for $400, and it only took $230 to get it driving. It's my tinker car now, and there's heaps to fix that isn't critical to operation, but a perfect way for me to learn car repairs.

I like your chin spoiler and side skirts. Back in the late 70s we took old conveyor belts and fashioned a downward-sloping front "chin spoiler" and outward-angled side skirts from the belt material. We designed and fitted the chin spoiler using cardboard until we got the desired effect and then traced it on the rubber and cut it out. The brackets to attach the belt material to our cars were homemade, super sturdy, and simple in design. The front was custom-made to follow the curved contour of the lower valance and the side was 1/8th inch angle iron The length of the front and rear tire openings, hammered to the right angle for the skirt to project downward & outward at our desired angle, (about 45-degree), then bolted to the existing body flange and the belt was then screwed to that. Some guys even added more conveyor belt material behind the rear tire but I never really noticed any performance improvement with doing that so I usually stopped at the front of the rear tire with my skirting. The real difference in our design was that the skirts were absolutely functional in that at around 100mph, (on my 68 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT anyway), you felt, (and heard the skirt start to scrap on occasion), the car literally drops down and hugs the road just like in Nascar. In some cases, at first, the spoiler & skirts would rub, (depending on how poorly you measured and cut them), until the excess had worn off enough to no longer rub but after that, the performance and grip at high speeds were outstanding on our cars, and it also looked "Bad Ass". On the plus side, if you made the mounting plated for the belt material sturdy, there was zero concern about hitting anything like a curb or speed bump with the spoiler or skirts because the rubber just flexed over things and went back to its previous shape/position. In conclusion, our mods were super cheap as well as actually functional. I still have a huge roll of old conveyor belt material in my garage along with a 65 Mustang hatchback that I plan to Restomod in the future. I am sure that old conveyors with belts still on them can be found at salvage yards all over the country and in my opinion, it's worth getting that material from them. I have also used my belt material for other mods and things over the years.

@@prestonsarlo so the car is pretty clean low miles about 40000 miles guy wants around 8k.I offered him 6500 he seemed like he wanted budge and ima get a paycheck soon so maybe, I hope we can meet in the middle. I live in cali and you can only do so much to make your car sounds as great as yours does. Can you help me find a legal setup in my state? I have to pass emissions
@prestonsarlo3 жыл бұрын
@@ivanfuentes1927 I also have to pass inspections because I live in NJ. Everything I have on my car is 100% legal and I have never had a problem. I have a slp loudmouth cat back on the car with a bbk catted h pipe. To keep it legal you have to keep the cats on the car so just do that!

@@prestonsarlo have you ever tested your dpa or had a dpa test by a police officer? Btw in Ca max is 95 dpa.

Damm, I'm old school because the only list is the catback, springs and tire size. The flatt matte stripes would be in the top #4

Sweet ride I'm going to get a new edge Mustang like this one in 2026 does the to let you have I'm not going to do those till lights I'm going to do tinted cuz I saw some nice ones I like the headlights like the gray where the turn signal is I'm going to do that headlight you should put a red tape on your diffuser so it can match the stripes and then I'm going to do like a black trunk deck lid thank you for like showing me all the mods I have something to say I'm about to go to 8th grade this year in Australia but since I've been in 7th I think like April I watched your mod video so thank you for showing me I really appreciate your work I'm going to subscribe to you and that windshield banner that you got when I get my new Edge Mustang I'm going to do something like that but it's going to say Ford performance with like the purple performance uhmm word cuz I feel like I was going to match cuz I'm going to do a purple and black color look so I feel like it's going to match with the trunk deck lid Indian mattress the little black thing that you can put on the bumper before the diffuser so thx you should Ford badge as well if you want to do that I'm just trying to make a match like the stripes you got
