While everyone else including Top Gear, MotorTrend and pretty much every car enthusiast say the BMW infotainment system is the best and the Mercedes' is the worst, this guy seems to think otherwise.

The exact opposite is true about the paddles mounted on the steering wheel. If they're on the steering column, they're always in the same place... they never move, which means you never lose track of where they are. If they're on the steering wheel, they move as you steer, making them way easier to lose track of when you're cornering at high speeds. Usually agree with your reasoning, Parker, but that I cannot agree with.

zippodk Seriously. I’ve used Mercedes Command system many times and there’s no question idrive is superior. Most journalists seem to agree modern idrive system is best in industry.

Julian Boffa having paddles on the steering column was from racing. But because this is a GT car made for the street, it's easier when when it's attached to the wheel.

the problem is through turns yes you can find the paddle but u may upshift when you meant to downshift and vice versa. When they're on the column you always know.

Shift setting causes the computer to hold the gear to a higher rev before shifting in auto mode, it doesn’t actually make the shifts crisper. Also driving around in sport+ on the regular is madness. I always leave mine in comfort & efficient mode, if I want to at the push of a button I can wake my car up by using the preset “M” button on the steering wheel.

I have the non competition version and even that is ridiculously fast. Can’t wait for the next gen M6 in 2019. Supposedly smaller, lighter, switchable 4 wheel drive and around 600bhp like the new M5.

Thank you for another fun review!! Always great to watch. I disagree on 2 things: 1)iDrive system is much easier to use. The problem is Benz drivers have difficulty, just like bmw drivers have dislikes about Benz system. No system is perfect, but latest iDrive is easier in my mind. 2) Shift pedals on column are better - that is when you DO know where they are. When you spinning the wheel left and right it is much easier to loose wheel-mounted pedals

I am pretty sure the seats wear a lot better than that. If it isn't cleaned and conditioned well, then yeah of course they don't age well... Judging by the crud under the idrive, the seats weren't taken care of. V10 M6 is best M6

The I-Drive system is actually very intuitive and easy to use once you get to know it, you're probably just used to the system in your S-Class hence preferring the Mercedes system. Same thing as comparing Apple and Android, people always favour what they are used to. Nice review anyway.

Parker, you have to understand something about ceramic brakes: they are not ONLY for sports-/supercars! When a car weighs too much, CCB are actually a better option than regular brakes because they will need more time to fade and on cars that weighs 4000+ lbs, that's what you need: good, efficient brakes. You questioned it on the Audi S8 Plus too: almost 5000+ lbs, how do you want to stop it, when driven fast (more than the 600 ps advertised)?

So I used to have this car and I was quite happy when I got rid of it. At fast speeds this car doesn't feel stable at all, but the engine is great. Also, the car should have all wheel drive, it simply doesn't put the power on the street. I love my current Panamera Turbo S 2018, best car so far.
