I spent 30+ years in the U.K. and 25+ years in Australia, but New Zealand still feels like ‘home’. Great videos!

I used to live in waiuku probably not to far from where you live. I'm just starting out really only got 20hrs total over the years. But seriously focusing on finishing my license hopefully by next year 😊

Always nice to see a new JP video regardless of what channel it’s posted on. Though the beautiful summer comment had me cursing a little as the temperature here is far below freezing with a snowstorm bearing down...!

We had a similar, spectacular experience on South Island with the great people of FlyInn New Zealand. Can't wait for this miserable pandemic to be over to do it again!!! If you're a US pilot, it's well worth the 16 hour airline flight to get there!!!

Nice video, remember to keep your eyes outside as much as possible, you flew long periods with your eyes on your IPad, Aviate - navigate - communicate. Fly safe.

I thought you had to use an AIP published aerodrome, unless you have permission to operator at a non-published aerodrome by the land owner. I also thought you are not allowed to fly lower than 500’ over a non-built up area (excluding certain CTO conditions). I couldn’t find anywhere where it states that landing on a beach or public road is acceptable (in an non-emergency situation). Can you please advise where this exists in the law.

Most beaches are covered by District Resource Consents and vehicles of *any* type are banned from the majority of them. You can't just land on a beach at random.

Beaches in NZ are public roads. That's a real problem for the conservation of some birds species, as it happens.

What aircraft is that? A Tecnam? It looks like a 3/4 scale Cessna 182...
@ptpost164 жыл бұрын
Not a Tecnam P2008... but I'd like to know what it is!?

Looks like Jabiru J-230

@@ptpost16 Thanks. Good eye. We don't have too many Jabirus in the states, it wasn't even on my guess list. Nice looking, capable aircraft.

Where would you suggest a YANKEE from the USA could obtain enough knowledge to safely fly both VFR & IFR in NZ. Where else in the world are you Licensed? Great Vid Bro.
