I sat in a friend's Bristell, and it's really luxurious. Beautiful aircraft!

The Cirrus is a plane that sells for $600K used. $1.2 Million new. To get much of the same capability for 1/3 rd the cost isn't bad. It's actually great. The los cost flyer can buy a ACA Chief used for $35K and fly around inexpensively (relatively). If you want new and all the bell and whistles this is a good bet.

Cirrus owner here… do these have AC option?

+1 If they put air conditioning in this I'd be a buyer- opex has to be way lower than SR22....I never have back seat passengers. Tint that canopy too!

I wish. That's the only thing I like better about the Cirrus. With the weight increases coming up for LSA's hopefully someone develops a unit that will work. I'll get one!!

GA is such a joke, if someone can eventually make an affordable plane again under the new rules it would be a boon for getting people into aviation. Cessna 172 was $12,500 in 1970 and the average salary in the United States was $6,186. Think about that.

In 1970 you could get a hamburger for 50 cents.... Did you just come to Earth? Aviation isn't for you. Stick with Matchbox Cars.

@@dh-fliesso what’s changed and why that the ratio between salary and new plane cost couldn’t be the same as in 1970?
@ikkinwithattitude5 күн бұрын
@@swiftadventurer Increased regulatory load increased the price and reduced the benefits of buying new, which reduced the number of new airplanes being purchased, which reduced economies of scale, which raised prices even higher. MOSAIC could help with the regulatory load part, but it probably wouldn't be sufficient to bring back aircraft prices of 2x average salary on its own -- you'd need an increase in purchases sufficient to restore economies of scale for that. (If I had to come up with a way to accomplish that, the best I can figure would be to make a MOSAIC-compliant 2-seat aircraft with a drone variant that can be sold to the military as a drone fighter in WWII quantities.)

The price of aircraft is not unique to the Bristell.

Watching Barnstormers for years...buying , building and selling,flying...I see the asking price has doubled....for many ... Reminded of the two roommates of low character...One went into the city and returned a couple of days wearing a mink coat....all smiles...turns out she had met a rich guy who bough her the 10k coat...the other lady , not to be out done, left and returned a month later....all in tatters and bruises....but wearing the mink coat...she had met 100 guys....:-)

Would you please edit the stall beeps out of your videos (or lower the audio level on it)? Otherwise, nice video.

Control your own volume Jethro....

The stall beeps transmit through the headset audio, so if they lower the volume of the beeps, then you also lose the volume on the pilots' voices.

It's a pretty good 50k$ plane. Only problem is that Bristell wants 350-400k for it. And Rotax's greed only accounts for a fraction that. Garmin's greed even less so Edit: it's somewhat poorly engineered as it's 465kg empty which is about 200kg more than other LSAs. Which is a cast iron piano or about 3 people.
