@@Itsmarylynnnn If you only want to be with people who are like you, and only want the culture you come from, why come to Denmark? Everything that people get from Danish society comes from somewhere, and if people don't like the population that has worked hard to pay the taxes that pay for all the benefits of being in this country, then I think they should be ashamed and stay where they are.

You also get money from the government for each of your children from they are born, every 3 month you get something like 700 dollars every quarter. It goes down as they age, ending with 100 dollars every quarter when they are 15-17, ending when they are 18. That's not depending on income. Everybody gets it. You get extra if you are a single parent. Also you are required to learn English and German in school. It's not voluntary. French is voluntary. But yes; moneywise Denmark is fine in many ways, even though welfare has gone down the last 30 years, because of neoliberalism. Here comes what you didn't say you experienced that much - but which I have, due to having black children. And maybe it's worse in the capital, where I live, but I doubt that it's that much better in the rest of the country. Denmark is very racist, atm mostly against Muslims (because yes; we are not 'open to assimilation' (a little strange to put it that way) - they want people to assimilate ('forced' more or less, because if you don't, you will feel it)), and even though my children are Danish, as in born here, they are black and have all experienced racism. I have also experienced racism in the sense of being white, and when you are amongst only white people, they will 'feel free' to make racist comments and jokes, that they might hold back if a black or brown person is present. But being that they see me as 'one of them' (and I am as in skincolor) they will just expect me to go along, which I don't, and which has caused me many unpleasant experiences.

"Denmark is very racist, atm mostly against Muslims..." Sorry, but that's not based on racism but history with Islam through many years. Danes have fought hard to get rid of or at least push religion out of the public space and it was working up until the point when Muslims from MENAPT-countries came to the country and started to demand changes aligned with their religion. Muslims taught Danes to be suspicious and on guard for cultural attacks. All around the country you see constructions to protect from Muslim terror attacks and yes, they are specifically placed there to guard against Muslim terrorism. Almost every terror attack in resent years have been due to Islam. "...even though welfare has gone down the last 30 years, because of neoliberalism." That's a blatant lie. Denmark barely have any liberals in international meaning of the word. Overly generous welfare have been streamlined and Danes have been given some freedoms back, nothing more. The funny part is that it's mostly done to align with EU and the maastricht-treaty. Denmark simply can't afford to pay every EU-citizen like they live and pay tax in Denmark, so some welfare deals had to change. People traveling from around the world to seek asylum, just to have a vacation payed by the Danish state were another issue that needed to be fixed. Negative social control from Muslims in poorer social housing projects were a third one, that is mostly solved now, that demanded changes to how the welfare state gave out welfare. In the coming years, Danish society will face increasing costs to welfare even with the streamlining that has taken place. There simply have been a political realization within most Danish political parties that something needed to be done to save Denmark from a new economic crisis like the one in the late 1960s throughout the 1980s. A time when Denmark almost went bankrupt due to overspending.

If you want diversity why is the theme of this video: "What it's like to live in Denmark as a black person"? Why is it not: "What it's like to live in Denmark as a foreigner"? I find it weird that so many countries and people focuse on peoples color. That includes you. Just respect people for what they represent beyond color.

@KurtFrederiksen
@KurtFrederiksen 4 күн бұрын
Depending on where you move from it might be difficult bordering to impossible. Sorry, but that is the truth and there's no point in trying to hid it. The 'easy' way in is through student visa or work visa, but both require skills and money and moving to Denmark is EXPENSIVE! Wages and living expenses are high in Denmark and if you come from a country with low wages and low living expenses the leveling up to even basic Danish living expenses is a beast. So many people underestimate the challenges in that seemingly simple task of moving from one country to another. You might start out searching for 'New in denmark'. That will give you some links to official danish sites dealing with immigration to Denmark. Some of them will have templates for visa applications and such needed to start the process and they will be updated with the newest information on the process. Most of them will be in English and a few in other languages as well. They will also include links to NGO's dealing with immigration to Denmark, help to find jobs and housing and such. As a Dane I can't go through the process myself, but it is my understanding that you can do most if not all of the process over the internet in English.
