JB preaches an ethics from 40 years ago. Sacrifice and discipline will help you overcome life's challenges. Pretty much common sense back then. It is amazing how many people comment about JP and don't know this. I discovered him before C-16 fame by listening to his classroom lectures he posted on KZbin when I was studying for my MA in psychology. He is a solid teacher and I would imagine a helpful clinician. Now in practice on my own JP has helped me articulate many thoughts and hunches I had but did not know how to express. Most of what he is saying is actually common sense. That is by no means a put down it is a compliment he can help people get in touch with their conscience and begin to forge their path that is what a truly good therapist/friend/parent does
@kec711610 күн бұрын
When my kid said JP was a right-wing wacko based on the 'lobster' theory, I looked him up. He leaned in after, looked at me, and said,” you want me to let you in on a little secret?” I turned to my wife and saw the dastardly grin on her face and that is when I realized. I was trolled by Dr. Peterson. An experience I’ll never forget. 💀

I think Joe, and where he’s at now, is helpful to Christians. There are many people leaning towards being agnostic that are finding the good in Christianity - mostly as they’re seeing society shift with individualisation at the wheel. Jordan Peterson is a great man with an enormously powerful positive influence in the world. He seems to encapsulate many of the same traits of Soren Kierkegaard including individual responsibility, passion and commitment all connected to the existential authenticity…the true self as defined by God. Thing thing about Jordan Peterson is that he is authentic with everything he does. "Be a good person", means many things, some of them are to be honest, or to do the best you can in any given moment etc. The reason why so many people like Jordan Peterson is because for the majority of people seeking truth is what we do and that is why we are so inspired by people who are genuine authentic people to their core. Which is what Jordan Peterson is. It's so obvious to anyone that really pay attention to how desperately he just want to be of help to people and help those who struggle. Because the weight on the shoulders of Jordan Peterson after stepping into the public light is a weight not many people would or could manage to bear and survive it. That is why the story of Atlas and how he holds they sky on his shoulders are an Archaic Hero story. It's that exact same weight one has to bear to do what Mr. Jordan Peterson is doing. I'm not a believer any god or in any religion, because I believe we can conduct ourselves and be good human beings in this world without it. But i also realize not all people have the strength and / or discipline to keep our house in order when the world crumble under our feet. So for those people i can see how Religion serve as the light which brings them back from Darkness.

In order to understand Dr. Peterson, you need to watch a video of him teaching a class. Or read his book 12 Rules. Or watch his videos about relationship issues. He's passionate about what he believes. And he believes that we can improve our lives as long as we don't compare ourselves to others and do what we know is in our best interest. He has always been about helping people improve their lives. He's never been afraid to tell the truth. Why some people intentionally misrepresent him is beyond comprehension.
