Thank you so much for the video, this is my dream job to start in a plastic surgery OR, I want to do eventually do injectables and get my NP to open a med spa (wishful thinking) Could you please do a video on tips to get a job in a plastic surgery clinic, specifically as a new nurse? Thank you!

Injectables eventually is where i want to go but no one is willing to train to help get you in the field. Extremely frustrating

Super grateful to watch this video! I am a new grad RN and start as an OR nurse in a plastic surgery office. What's your biggest struggle when you first started in the OR? What was the most challenging and most easy thing for you?

Congrats !!! I would say I was just a little intimated and overwhelmed in the beginning because things are very fast paced ( time is of the essence of course) and knowing which instrument is what while scrubbed in & in the middle of a procedure. & then also circulating in the beginning ( you’re literally the 3rd eye & runner). But I became really good at juggling it all & would be scrubbed in for 95% of our procedures. But there were also times I had to play both roles & it’s just knowing what every surgeon’s technique is, what they prefer, & just having great time management skills overall. I got to the point I could prep, scrub in then out & circulate, do recovery & flip a room by myself. (Not ideal for everyone & certainly a huge liability ) but there were moments when we were short staffed at the last minute prior to a procedure. You’ll do well as long as you are high concentrated on sterility , management & can take criticism. I got yelled at once and it was embarrassing. But that same surgeon took me aside & literally walked me through the OR after his surgery & gave me the most thorough training & I’ve been forever grateful for it Bc he became my mentor & taught me how to suture & a lot more. 💕💕 the OR has it’s days but just be patient with yourself & don’t take anything personal -& you’ll do fine.

I have been watching your journey and I must say, YOU ARE AMAZING! I appreciate you sharing your life, it helps so much for me to take a leap of faith and start the LVN program. Im starting in December :) cant wait... do you have any advice on how I should prepare? or do I just jump in and ride the wave? lol
@carynjoi4 жыл бұрын
( sorry I’m SUPERRR late seeing my notifications ) but thank you so much ! That means a lot 💕💕. I say don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith. Get yourself an nclex prep book before you even start. You may not know everything but you can start going through questions and it’ll help you with med surg. It’s something I wish I thought of ahead of time. Don’t go crazy but make it something fun to practice. You’ll do fine. Wishing you the best & success on your journey !

This is a great video thank you. You do 3 jobs in one. I only want to work as a rn in a out patient setting. If I can found a place that take lpn that would be great eye opener.

( sorry I’m all late seeing my notifications ) but thank you ! 💕💕 there are definitely places out there !!! You can search facilities and ask them straight up if they’re hiring. Sometimes it’s hard to find opportunities advertised on those hiring sites.

You just have to research mama 💕 I saw it on along my job search when I really wasn’t anticipating finding anything plastic surgery or even OR related. I’m definitely going to post my video talking about how I found my jobs & how I got through the app process. I have to refilm it 🤦🏻♀️ lol. But there’s definitely opportunities out there. 💖💖
