87’s. I have a love hate relationship with it. It’s awesome overall though!

Can you make a video with someone who is a cs in the coastguard giving a detailed description of what a normal day is like being a cs & the pros and cons of it since that position doesn’t get much praise

Hey shipmate, was wondering if one of these episodes you would be able to talk a bit about the OS rate, or maybe get someone that works at a sector command center. teach people a bit about what happens with the whole SAR process.

Looks like he was Echo company. I just graduated E-198. On an 87’ as well lol. Wanted to ask you if the wait for AMT is worth it? I know you’re IT but I’m sure you’ve talked with guys in Aviation. Just wanted your advice on it.

Michael Hellmann FRC’s aren’t bad man! You not going AST anymore? I’m thinking AET now because it’s a shorter wait and the carryover to civilian life is a bit better. Have sorvillo give you my number and hit me up lol

Jasper Pannell yeah i changed from ast to amt. I think you’re right too. I feel like aet might carry over a little better. Idk if i wanna make a career out of it but i hear airstation life is awesome.

When conducting a boarding it's mentioned that your armed so would it be a pistol or rifle maybe both? Also may I please ask which pistol is currently being used hopefully not the old M9 Beretta but I'm not sure if the Coast Guard got the new Sig Sauer M17/M18 Maybe even something else Thank you in advance for taking the time out to reply and respond to my questions! Great Channel huge fan

How does boarding other vessels work? Is this something you do with the small boat or the cutter itself? And how would you be assigned to this job?

All cutters have small boats. I think every boot needs to go to sea early out of boot camp.

District 5 was on my list so they gave me a unit in district 5. You really don’t have much say on where you go after boot camp. But depending on what rate you decide to go, you might not be at your first unit very long

The coast guard uses districts. Wisconsin and Alabama are in the same district IIRC so you can end up with some interesting assignments

Since his cutter has a CS on board are non-rates not cooking/cleaning? I hear most don't want to be stationed on a cutter because of the amount of cooking/cleaning that's involved especially in the first few months.
@hadiyaagoubi2313
@hadiyaagoubi2313 6 жыл бұрын
Since the 87’ is such a small cutter everyone has a hand in cleaning. Literally everyone regardless of rank. The only extra cleaning non rates have to do is dishes. CS is in charge of all cooking. But if you get hungry you can cook whenever you want
@Marina-zs2vr

@@hadiyaagoubi2313 How about larger cutters? Do non-rates have more cleaning obligations?
@Marina-zs2vr
@Marina-zs2vr 6 жыл бұрын
I think I want to go BM, and being on a cutter out of boot camp would be cool but I also don't want to forsake opportunities to "job shadow". I've just heard so many people say that for the first month or two on larger cutters non-rates spend like 12 hours a day cleaning and basically don't see the light of day.
