I applaud you for being able to work on a cruise ship and maintain a Vlog. We've been on many cruises over the years and really respect the work that goes on by the crew all day long. I'm surprised you guys can find any time off. Glad you are able show people some behind the scenes work that takes place. Really have enjoyed all your videos.

Staring up at the false ceiling and just take it all in, dimly lit cabin, artificially ventilated & freshly fogged, bed covers crisp,. Away from all the company expectations you meet in the workspace, I95, and anti-slip staircases, these moments are something to look forward to when you work every single day.. shiplife is special in many ways

Everybody thinks life on a cruise ship is what was shown on the Love Boat. But, as with any job, lots of hard work goes on to make passenger life as luxurious as possible. I admire the fact that you work a full time job as a dance captain and full time vlogger! Your work is superb! Thanks for all your hard work because your dedication and effort are apparent and your personality just radiates and sparkles over the internet!! 💗💗💗💗💗

I just came across your vids- interesting. My mom was a dancer back in the day (Broadway/ NY Ballet), then she decided to have kids. She used to tell me about the gigs, rehearsals, etc. This kind of gives me an idea of what she had to go through, except without Wi-Fi.

I’m new and catching up on old videos. In terms of what we want to see, I am happy a day in the life … learn about your day, what food is offered. Packing. Sign on and sign off. Any behind the scenes. How do costumes work - - fittings, washing, alterations as not everyone is the same body structure. What do you do with some personal belongs you aren’t taking off the boat. Do you offer to friends? Is there a place to drop off so others can enjoy? Holiday decorations?

Your quarters seem really nice--you have a porthole to enjoy the views and the sunsets when you are not performing. Dancers amaze me--born athletes, and on cruise ships, you have to dance with sea legs which is even more amazing, something I have never seen. I saw the dancers at the Moulin Rouge twice, in '84 and '17, and they did things so magical and graceful, reminding me of the last scene of the movie 'Billy Elliot' where is father is amazed by his son's athleticism and grace. In the summer Olympics, men's and women's gymnastics I always favored watching, second to that diving. In the Winter Olympics, Ice Skating and Ice dancing. First skater of my generation I saw was Peggy Fleming, but I also remember the grace of Brian Boitano. What you do entertains us 'non immortals', lol because of your magic and the way you smile at your audience and the way the audience smiles back at you. It is just as important as being a doctor, because lifting the human spirit thru entertainment also heals us, and keeps us from feeling lonely.

That's actually a pretty nice spacious cabin and large comfy bed for a performer. Not a gloried jail cell with a door lol The mirror helps it look larger. The porthole window's dirty though ; I've known a few performers who've gone cruising incl. one whose been doing it off & on since 2009. She's been on TV a few times. It seems you can tell which cruise line they'll end up on. Girls who have a bubbly personalty end up on Carnival or Disney. Sophisticated dancers Norwegian etc. I've only known one who didn't care for living on a boat but he was a little older. A talent scout came up to him after his final show at an amusement park. It's nothing he considered doing. One dancer didn't pass a medical exam (not sure why) she's a really good dancer. A singer had a really nice cruise vlog but for whatever reason didn't catch on. He performs in Vegas. I know a few who do that including the dancer he met onboard then they moved to Vegas and broke up lol Another dancer married an enigineer on Hollhand. She's a cruise director. They're all musical theatre majors who started in amusement parks.

I'm still 15 years old. My brother will be working on a cruise ship in like 3 months. I am having interests to also work in a cruise ship. I would say my english is decent and it would be good enough to do daily conversations (English is not my first language). But i do have my concerns so if any crews or former crews are here, your help would mean a lot. So first, what are the medical checkups to work in a cruise ship? I personally have some concerns. I have some crooked teeth and also have keratosis Pilaris (Both of which are fixable but won't be easy haha). Second, I am worried about one major thing, and that is my social life. As a teen who spent a huge portion of my life in my home with very little social life because of Covid. I stutter quite a lot when saying repetitive words. I always say those words too fast so it almost becomes hard to know what I'm saying Third, i am an introvert. Even though I'm not badly introverted, sometimes during a conversation i don't know what to say or what to choose the topics of the talks are Fourth, How is the daily expenses on cruise ships? I know the food and cabins are free, but how is the other stuffs like Wifi, and etc? Especially that I'm looking to work as a food service which have a low pay compared to others Lastly, what is the work time? What is the time you spend at work daily? I've heard that sometimes it's around 8-16 hours a day and 7 days a week which is quite a lot but still manageable So yeah, that's about it, if anyone's reading this please give some advice haha

One of the comments we heard from staff on Virgin was how much they appreciated that they had wifi all the time and could be in contact with their family through their whole contract. Sad to see the trade off here in order to have wifi as a crew member. Sorry RCL - and RCL employees. We won't be on your ships anymore after seeing the light...
@brassholio Жыл бұрын
RCCL sucks for entertainment staff. I did one contract with them and vowed never to go back. The sad thing is, with most musicians, you get put on whichever ship comes up to suit your availability through your agent, and most people just stick with that cruiseline. So people don't know how good it can be with other companies.
