I played this game way back when i was a kid. I did it almost ritually as a 12 year old with grades slipping faster than the relationships I knew I had only one reason for life...to get to inheritor. after making it through countless days of my parents telling me to stop playing so much. I only made it to legend before i actually had to care about my life. So if i have one speech that lives on past me it would be to pick one. Become an inheritor or be a proper functioning adult because if you do what i did and only be a half ass inheritor than you will in turn be a half ass adult.

As an Inheritor I need to point out that credit farming in griffball only takes about 20 minutes and can get you around 20,000 credits per game

I recall getting to Mythic, ah good times. I miss the Halo 3 - Reach days of multiplayer. So much time invested. Days, weeks, hell even months worth of fun with friends that no games since have quite reached for me yet. So. Much. Nostalgia! I'd love customisation and ranking to come back similar to Reach, others may not but it felt so cool when you finally got to that rank, and had saved up those credits for a bad ass armour piece. If 343i just combined that with certain armour pieces locked behind specific commendations and achievements that would be perfect.

i reached inheritor naturally because i loved the multiplayer. why would you spend so much time perfoming miserable farming tasks for an entirely cosmetic rank? being an inheritor doesn't mean you're good at the game, it just means that you play it a lot

Someone gets it. In Halo 5 and to an extend H4 you at least get actual in-game advantages in the form of weapons and perks by XP/REQ farming or in H5's case you can just pay to win lol. But in H2, 3 and Reach this boosting/farming is absolutely pointless. Just play the game and enjoy it for what it is, don't become a slave to progression systems and challenges. So many games nowadays use this skinner box approach to get people hooked, what happened to making a game fun to play.

yeah. at least in halo 2 and 3 though, higher ranks are more meaningful because of the skill requirement. you don't need any skill to reach inheritor. and if you follow the most efficient grinding methods by playing grifball and gruntpocalypse, you're not even really playing the game anymore. you're just abusing joke gametypes. i can't imagine doing this for 20 minutes, let alone 100 days

Honestly I cant remember exactly this was quite a long time ago. So I said to myself “huh sounds like a good deal to me” 2 years later realized how much of a bad deal it was and how I could be inheritor already. Whatever I sucked anyway I only got good at the game around the age 12-13 then became an autist and became godlike around 14

Hey Luke! Been inheritor for about 4 years. Living dead is definately not the most efficient way to get credits. I earn 22000 minimum playing one decent game of griffball. Yes yes, being inheritor makes you earn more credits than lower ranks blah blah blah. Griffball is the MOST efficient way to earn credits and level up.

Came here to say this. 343 added a massive bonus for finishing games of grifball, if you managed to stall a game out for 15+ minutes you could get 25k+ easy. Even just running quick games with a good team can get you 4-5k credits in a 3 minute game

I dont know if this applies to MCC, but a faster way to grind is to go into grifball. If you are a Colonel, you can get around the ball park of 8k credits per game. If you are Mythic, somewhere around 15. It just keeps going higher with each progressing rank. This is a little political, however. Some people view it as cheating because they see it as exploting the credit system, some say its legit because they argue that its in the game, so its fair. I'm not here to say who is right or wrong, I am just a reporter. Here are your options. If you like the grind, and have the time, follow the videos instruction. If you are wishing to get cosmetics as soon as possible, and want the haunted helmet yesterday, grifball. What do you choose?

I have a really crappy story about this... Halo Reach came out when I was 11 years old and it was my first multiplayer game. I loved Halo Reach, it was amazing. I played it until I was probably 14 on and off. I was 2 levels off of Inheritor and.... my account got hacked. I was devastated. I remember that day coming online and over the course of 3 hours slowly realizing that I was never gonna get it back. I haven't played Halo Reach since and I'm 18 now.

Yeah I hate the new system, so linear and there's very few good unlocks for the first tour/30 levels...not even the base helmets. At least the grind is a lot less but it takes a lot more willpower lol

I loved the credit system as well however with the token system is how I got my haunted helmet. I used to play the og reach ritualistically every day and I never got a credit jackpot in my years of playing. I really feel like it takes more than 20m credits to get to inheritor but idk. I understand bungie made it hard to level up in later levels which is fine but it shouldn't take this long. I would have done it a long time ago but after buying all helmets and attachments as well as inclement weather I just lost the passion to grind. The only armor ability I don't have in og reach is pestilence and I'm over halfway to 1m and have all helmets and attachments (besides haunted). I will probably buy pestilence next. Sometimes I feel a bit sad because when I was younger I made life long friends on this game and as stupid as it sounds I'm the last person out of my friends who has the og reach and still sometimes plays. I seriously wanted the helmet on og reach. It's kind of still a life goal to get because the friends I mentioned have either moved on, moved away, and I'm not sure but I think one passed away (don't quote me on that cause I'm not sure what happened to him). So the progress, time, grinding, dedication, and credit challenges dies with me

I know everyone has been saying it, but the best way to rank up is griffball. If played correctly that is. You'll obtain more credits the longer the game last (about 15 min) which essentially boils down to don't ever score. You'll receive on average 8000 to 15000 credits per game. Just know your KD will be dead if you're not good with a gravity hammer/sword and you'll turn into a "you're inheritor, but you suck."

If anyone is looking for the absolute FASTEST way to get inheritor just get 7 other people who are trying to boost for the rank and start a Grifball lobby with 8 players in your lobby. This will ensure there are no random people trying to score the bomb. Then just AFK for the whole game and don't score the bomb at all. In a tied 5 round game you should earn 20,000+ credits. This is how I got inheritor.

Inheritors sometimes end up being trash. Well maybe its just cause im pretty good but sometimes they really seem low level. Ive learned not to underestimate those motherfuckers with no armor who are guests or just starting. Ive ran into more skilled guest/"noobies" than inheritors. I wonder if they do that so you underestimate them. They always use precision weapons

I know this video is old and no one is going to see this, but there is a method that you overlooked: Custom Challenges. I have no idea if these were implemented at launch nor if they are still available. However, it was possible to get 20K+ in really short periods of time with these challenges.

I haven't played in years, but I believe you could through the waypoint mobile app as well as on halowaypoint.com. I just did some quick research on the topic, and it seems like they removed the feature around 2014ish. It is a real shame because it was a fun way to earn some extra credits. It also made ranking up to Inheritor much easier (which was very nice to have once you got to the higher ranks).

Played it almost every day for 3 and a half years. Managed to get to Legend but I almost never played with friends, mostly just Team SWAT and Team Snipers with the occasional Big Team Battle and Team Slayer thrown in. I'd imagine if I hadn't stopped in 2014, I would have reached Inheritor about 2 years ago. Best multiplayer game I've ever played and my second favourite game of all time. Never had so much fun in a video game and I know I'll never have so much fun on one again.

I was an inheritor before I quit Xbox. I just loved the shit out of living dead and at one point became 51st in the world at it(FalconCRAZY02). During the 4 years of playing the game it took me about 2 and a half addicted years to get me to inheritor. I say I played on average 2 and a half hours a day of just living dead and completed 3/4 of the daily challenges and 1/2 of the weekly challenges(only played zombies). I think the best way to rank up is to simply find a friend who is willing to do it with u. If that person will just be there for your grind and you're there for their grind it makes the process a lot more fun and easy. I also feel that once you reach this rank you feel you have beat the game.

I have 2 inheritor accounts. Ive been playing halo reach from day 1 until now. Inheritor rank is something that you have to grind to get. But the feeling when you rank up is amazing cause it takes a lot of effort and time to rank up after the rank hero. You need like 10M credits from eclipse to inheritor. There is a specific gametype (grifball) that gives you a lot of credits but all people do in that gamemode is stand still and do nothing. If you are a high ranked player like a nova or a noble you can get like 15000-30000 credits per game. But you will have to suffer by standing still for 15 minutes each game. My fav gametypes are invasion, living dead, grifball back in 2012 when people played the gametype (it was so much fun), Team snipers and big team battle.
