Before i couldn't sleep without hugging a pillow or I'm surrounded with lots of pillows because I tend to have nightmares and panic attacks in the middle of a night. So I tend not to go back to sleep because of that but after I was diagnosed with BPD and PTSD I found out that's my way of coping because of my trauma. After I got a service dog I let him sleep with me on my bed and somehow it made me feel safe, warm and happy because I am not alone anymore.

When I was 1st diagnosed with cancer and was starting treatments, when I told a nurse I had 3 small dogs that I shared my bed with, she told me that's not really a good idea. Dogs carry germs and my immune system is vulnerable. I basically told her she was nuttier than she thought I was. They knew when I was sick. They acted more protective. They were more gentle. And they were careful when they wanted to cuddle. It was my dogs that got me thru the rough parts.

I had a pug too. Her name was Lucy. I used to call her my daughter. Last year in November she passed away. And since then, I’ve lost the motivation to do almost everything. I miss her so much. Every second. Seeing these pugs reminded me of her and I pray that these little munchkins always stay healthy and happy! 🙏🏻❤️

I just lost my white pitbull/dogo argentino, Trinity and 100% yes - I also have no motivation to do anything now. This pain has cut me so deep. My youngest daughter Lilly was Trins best bud. Lilly has been crying herself to sleep. This pain is drowning me. I'm so sorry that you had to feel this, I hope a new pup sweeps you off your feet (as puppies usually do when they get under foot!)

I also have lost my motivation for anything I still cry hard from the feeling of lonliness. I feel better hearing others are feeling the same way. Stay strong.... I know you miss your baby... You should take in another dog.. and sooner rather than later. I lost my GSD this past Valentines day and completely understand what you mean about losing the motivation to do anything. I'm an active person but find it so much harder to be active when I don't have a furry hiking buddy. About a month ago someone who knows I'm a huge dog lover reached out to me about another GSD that was in desperate need of a home. It felt a bit soon after losing my Bella, but when I was sent a picture of her I just couldn't say no. I still think about Bella every day. She never did like seeing me unhappy.. and having a dog in my life makes me happy. Now I'm back to being out walking every day and feel so much better for it. My home feels alive again with this big GSD called Anya bounding around the place with her squeeky toys. I hope any of you that lost your dogs welcome another into your homes soon.

its great! if i dont get under the covers fast enough my dog, a black lab, pretty much takes up my entire bed (its a full and not a queen tho) my other dog, Rose (rip) use to sleep under the cover in like the bend of ur knee so u had to basically choose a position and stick with it. my cats seem to like sleeping on my pillows which is fine since i sleep with like 5 of them. Wont trade them for the world! tho i would like a bigger bed lol

I recently took a pug under my wing when the owner was going to put him to sleep because he had a liver shunt (8weeks old), I decided to take the expense, give medication throughout day & night, specified diet. He will soon be old enough for surgery.. but let me tell you taking him was the best decision ever, hes my buddy, sweetheart and once I get a bigger home I'm getting another puggy💕💕🐶
