i've always felt sorry for Coopers movie version, despite him being a throwaway mercenary. Now I can see where that Sympathy came from. Cooper was supposed to be a bigger (at least a little) part of the story. I can't imagine how crushed that actor was to find out he just gets to be casualty #4

Most real life mercenaries get $250,000 US dollars per job plus expenses, with half paid up front (at least during the Cold War or around about that time). So I doubt that they were mercenaries to begin with, they were probably day job workers who played to many video games or watched to many movies.

I dont quite get the hate behind jp3. Yes, its the worst of all the films, but its not a bad movie. The effects and acting are great for the most part. Its entertaining, offers lots of cool new scenery and backstory and i found it the scariest out of all the original three as a kid. Definitely my #2 favourite jp movie, and im not even ashamed in saying that

You're leaving out the psychology of the masses. Most people go into a movie with unrealistic expectations particularly if it's a part of a trilogy. They don't see a movie for what it is, but rather what they expect it to be. This does trifericate through nearly all of their behavior but this is besides the point.

This script seems like it would have good character developments. Cooper in this segment of the script is much more realized, he's not just food for the Spinosaurus. I would have loved to see more of this thrown out script! I also hope you do more videos on deleted scripts/scrapped scenes, they are fascinating!

I wonder how Cooper's actor felt getting all but written off in the script change, assuming he'd been cast prior to the change like several of the other actors were. Feels like they nixed the character he was to play, but since they already hired him they kept the actor on for part of the movie to have another red shirt for a dino to kill. I assume original Cooper was going to die as well, but it would probably be more dramatic and sad since he had more of a role in the movie. As it stands the only person you really care about dying in JP3 is Udesky, and that's mostly because he simply survived longer and had a few funny lines.

Honestly, the movie would have been more interesting if it were told from the pov of Erick and Ben, imagine the movie being a mix of cast away, life of pi and the lost world (1925), where we see 2 people who try to survive for 8 weeks. That in my opinion would have made JP3 a more interesting movie and Someone else made a video like that on their channel

It is an interesting script. Personally, I would still love to know details on how Eric Kirby survived 8 weeks alone on the island. It's amazing to theorize what he could have done in order to survive.

Had this version of the script been used it might really feel like Spielberg's Jurassic Park with the boy forming a bond to cooper just like how hammond's grandkids formed a bond with Dr. Grant, giving balance to human emotions, feelings. And action stuff in the movie, like imagine a scene where these two are talking about their relationships with loved ones as they rest on a sturdy tree branch gazing upon the herd of brachiousaurus, but instead of cooper calling the brachiosaur's attention, it was miles.

Hey Klayton They give hints to Isla Sorna’s current state on the DPG website it’s not a dead Island it’s just says there was a population drop from the illegal species poachers and possibly the diseases that were shown on the DPG website under the paleo-vet article could have also caused the population drop along with Masrani global taking some of the dinosaurs off the island so to clarify it’s not a dead island it just has a smaller dinosaur population than it did in 1997-2001. And I also think it’s possible that they left Sorna’s current state unknown so that the fans can use there “imaginations” to theorize about Sorna’s current state and do think they will mention Sorna’s current state in JW3? Also when you review movies do you do multiple viewings and take notes and not criticize it based on memory alone?

- the VFX was outstanding - the dinosaur designs were the best out of all 5 films. i mean, look at the raptors. - the SFX was incredible(and there was no reused SFX like in JW:FK). my 2nd fav roar is Spinosaurus' but the story was too simple, also this movie destroyed dr.grant's character and sunk my grant-ellie ship :'(

A billionaire going to Sorna plus his kid, this bodyguard version of Cooper, and Amanda Kirby being a scientist instead of the annoying character, it maybe could have been a good film. I think itd be interesting to take concepts of this different script and make it a brand new JPIII like a fan animated project.

I know this is only the first scene, but if this really was planned before what we actually got, I think this would have been a better intro scene at the least since it actually shows a relation between “Miles” and his father as opposed to the other intro scene where Ben is introduced only to be found dead later. Not sure if the whole film would be better, but maybe the characters would have felt more three-dimensional.

JP3 has a weird history since the movie was filmed before the script was finished and their was ALLOT of changes made thru out the life of the film, which is part of why so much of it has people just running from dino's, since you don't really need a script for that and aside from the number of still living characters, everything filmed could be used in just about any incarnation of the final film since even the dino's being run from could be altered as they were almost all CGI. That kept in mind, I think this makes sense as an unused draft since it lines up with the general action of the final film and is close enough that it absolutely could have been changed mid shoot with minimal changes to the island sections outside of a few tweaks to some of the talking scenes.

Eh, I still enjoy it as it is. The only things I could ask for of this movie is that the Trex vs Spino fight could've been handled better (maybe as the climax, ultimately ending both dinosaurs) and none of the clips of Charlie interrupting the Spino boat attack sequence. Other than that, it isn't as bad as I remember.
