Hey man, take it from a long time live player: when you make it clear you're going to either fold or call a final bet and your opponent interrupts you/talks to you they are trying to deter you from what you are about to do. It's almost always a good confirmation of your decision. Opponents will keep to themselves knowing that most people will talk themselves into going with what their plan was. If you're unsure of what to do and your opponent is not very experienced, try projecting that you're leaning toward one decision or another and watch their reaction. Quiet - wants you to do what you're projecting. Talking - wants to change your mind. Any outside influence can change a person's decision making in the moment, and they wouldn't want to risk talking you out of what you were going to do if they wanted you to call/fold. Keep up the good thought processes though, and play your game. Low stakes poker rewards ABC plays, and try not to level yourself. Good luck at the tables 👍

Such a weird fold.. by showing a 6, the number of likely value hands that beat us is reduced to 1 Combo!! In relation to the 9 combos of KQ, and 3 combos of QQ (12 less hands to worry about..)

I came across your vlog by accident. I never, nearly never youtube anything unless I'm specifically looking for DYI tips or something. However, I have to say after seeing about half a dozen of your vlogs, despite being relatively young, you come off mature, obviously detail oriented, and professional. I have to say for someone your age your ability to be objective is impressive. You give due credit where due and criticize a situation with consideration for all of the relevant surrounding facts. Enjoy watching and hearing about your sessions. Keep it up

The famous "let me show you one card trick". I ran into this many times over the years myself. The most memorable one was the hand I played in a 5/10 game at the Venetian over 5 years ago. A guy bluffed me off with a 1200 all-in bet all the turn (with the pot size of ~800) where I had AQ with an A on the board. He said, "let me show you a card", and flipped over an A. Somehow I was convinced he had two pairs and so I folded. He then turned over his other card which was a small kicker for one pair. I could never forget that hand and that phrase after these many years. Always remember this very key thing at the table, nobody is ever nice enough to basically say "I don't want to take your money, so let me show you something so you could fold". Not to mention on your 86 hand, you also had a 4 to 1 odds to call.

I know it will be hard to grasp especially when your there in motion but originally you were going to call with 8,6 all from ur own thinking and sizing this 'acorn guy ' then he got to you with showing a 6 now your original assessment has slid out the door as he didn't want the call and his only stand was hypnotic stunning your original decision. The greatest play is that of the mind

LMAO that was a crazy fold. I've been there myself which is why my curiosity usually gets the best of me in situations like that. Good luck in Vegas at the WSOP. Also I have one suggestion for the vlogs, when you show your lunch/dinner please give it a rating between 1-10. That can help others when ordering food at the casino's. Similar to how Boski does it on his vlogs.

Great entertaining vlog. Usually don't give too much advice on these things but on 77 hand, when BB only has $133 in his stack and he raises to $23 and gets two callers, you have an excellent opportunity to isolate and raise to $150 and get it heads up (or potentially take the pot down without a flop)

15:52 when your opponent tells you “hold up I wana show you a card” right before you are about to call, is one of the biggest love tells you can make! YOU 100% should of called! The only reason he is showing you a card is so you can make the fold! THATS THE ONLY REASON!

I'm with you on your theory to go with a micro bet with your QQ holding. But don't you think you miss some value, if a player in that spot ends up just calling instead of jamming, by only betting the $10. If a player is going to call a bet in that spot, I would think you're better off making it at least $25, as your theory still applies and would at least allow you to induce more money into the pot if he does just call and doesn't end up jamming there. Unless you're just 100% certain he's going to re-raise, I think more often than not, you're missing out on some action. Just my thoughts. Quality video again mate. Thanks.

Bro I can't believe you folded the 8,6 hand. No way he bets a set on the flop and highly unlikely he has a better 2 pair. At worst your chopping, at best your winning. After watching your vlogs from the beginning I was shocked to hear you say fold. You definitely took a long time thinking which lead to you talking yourself into a fold. Glad to see your moved on and got a win from the session. Thanks for sharing your losses as well as your winning hands too. Peace from PNW.

Nice one, Mar. There are going to be other spots live that you're going to run into where a villain is going to look like he's trying to help you similar to this one. Usually it's through speech-play. Ask yourself: Ok? Why is this guy trying to save me chips? After asking yourself, you'll make the correct call or bet usually. I say usually because there are levelers like Jamie Gold in the WSOP who was telling villains exactly what he had because he knew that they would think he was bs'ing. Lol. But those are exceptions.

The board was Q 2 8, rainbow, turn was a 7 and the river came out another 8 and he raised 60 dollars. i only bought in for 100. i thought about it and folded thinking he had a set. and he flips over 6,3 off-suit.

Enjoying the commentary and I know you don't want to talk about it but... but... I have to say with the 68 after the flop, I don't like how passive you played on either the flop or turn tbh. You also have QQ and KK and AA in your range, and all of those continuation bet on that board, regardless of players (indeed it's pretty wet and lots of people, so more reason to bet for equity protection) If you get re-raised, you can shove and continue that story and put pressure on everything. You can also legitimately check-raise on the flop. Then on the turn bet, I feel like if you're truly worried he has trips or 2 pair, you're not getting great odds if you're drawing dead to a diamond so you should fold, even with +6/8 it's marginal at best, and so I think you can also raise on the turn and again put pressure on everything and not truly fear a call. Maybe the fold on the river is the best bit but I feel like you've created a story and that's that. I agree with what you're saying at lower stakes (I play £1/£2 and average 15bb an hour) regarding having to call down a wide range. He has everything there from AK and AQ and getting carried away, to things like A10d, and even some J10, d or otherwise. You also have the blocker to trip 6s which is the most likely pp to flat your trips, and if that's happened or he has QQ / KK it's just unfortunate. I feel like although occasionally you look like a donkey, you make more money by calling down in those spots (I sort of specialise in letting people bet into me. Sure, sometimes they get there, but sometimes they spew off £150 just from trying to win the opening £15 after the flop).

Not to be too obvious or a chat pro, but we cannot ever be folding 86 there. 160 into a pot of ~400. We just have way too good of a price. I think we're supposed to just jam turn and not overestimate how strong the range is at a low stakes table in a single raised pot. The fish are just not thinking on the level of "oh, well I shouldn't be betting into 5 opponents with a hand worse than top,top no draw because I have way better hands to value bet, bluff or semi-bluff here", they're just playing their cards face up ipso de facto.

I have been watching a lot of the guys on pokercoaching.com and their conclusion seems to be is that almost no villian in low/medium stakes is folding if he calls the flop. On the 8d 6d hand you got bluffed. I happens. Maybe you want to try putting yourself in his shoes. When you did not raise the flop, he might have thought his 66 was good and he was not putting you on K or Q but a flush draw, which was true. When you missed your flush he read you as a blank and thought his 66 was good enough to try to push you off 66 since you had him pegged as on OMC. You are a better player than me, so I could be wrong. I thought he rivered 222. Good luck in Vegas.

He stops you from calling (and beating him with just about anything). He shows you the strongest thing he can (a single pair of 6's). Now, he gets you to think what he wants you to think...that he has 66 DESPITE the fact that you hold the blocker :D Play the player, not the cards, young man...
