@@MarianoPoker learn how to play them. Most cash only players usually don’t do well at tourneys
@DonkeyAndy Жыл бұрын
@David Thompson very much seen the opposite. Cash players always tend to do relatively well, especially in early stages of tournaments and know how to navigate hands postflop. Tourney players in cash games, on the other hand, tend to do poorly, mainly them thinking their aggressive style can work in cash too. Very rarely do even WSOP winners ever perform well in cash games.

Flopping quads 2xs in the wsop main! Are you kidding me! What a dream!!!!! Best tourney advice given to me a while ago... tight is right! For $10k buy in, them suited connectors and calling 3bets was your weakness. Only adjustment I'd make would be to fold to their 3b and wait for another chance to play tight and aggressive. Your welcome for that unsolicited advice. Lol happy holidays!

Disagree. I like his vlogs and he seems like a good guy, but he splashes around way too much for tournament poker. He's too used to playing wild cash games.

Well he made it a lot further than some of the professional tournament players. I would suspect if he studied tournament play, he would do well.
@andrehanderson3 жыл бұрын
@@marcuspaxton5427 the amount of time you last in a tournament isn't indicative of skill. Phil Ivey could flop the nut flush and get it in against a beginner with a set and lose his stack by the river through no fault of his own and no skill on the part of the other player. That's the nature of tournaments. Luck is a huge factor. But you can tell Mariano has some leaks from his cash game experience and I'm sure he will work on them and improve if he wants to.

I enjoyed the content Mariano, as always. Thanks for entertaining the ones who aren't able to travel to Vegas yet. Maybe next year? For most people (excluding the likes of Negreanu, Greenstein, Brunson, etc) there is a clear difference between winning at cash games vs tournament games. It is clear you are a cash player, but I love it that you still do a vlog on a tournament just for the entertainment value. You played fairly well over all in my estimate of the hands you showed. A little bit splashy for a tournament, but overall not too bad. Keep up the content.

Wish you would have tightened up after you hit the 100k mark. Anyway, I think for a tournament amateur you did fairly well. I saw an interview with Mike matusow and I think he's on point with it, but he said a lot of players mistakes in the main event is that they should fold most of the spots where they know they're behind, and only have a draw to improve, because the structure moves so slow that you'll almost always find a better spot to put their money in.

Great video as always! Not that you need or even asked for an advice about tournaments, but I think you've played it as a lot good cash game players would've: great with 100bbs + (cause its your confort zone anyways), and with 50bbs, 40bbs, 30bbs and 15bbs like it is the same 100bbs game, and unfortunatelly it hurts a lot in a tournament, even the ones with that kind of structure. Anyways, it was nice to see you playing it and I hope you have a better run next time. Keep up with the awesome job!

Mariano, When you play more tourney’s you’ll realize there is a lot more B’sing than in a cash game. When you have a good hand or top pair you got to give it the gas. The classic example is when you let your opponent see a free river and he caught his 8 to trip the eights. If you would have put in a healthy bet on the turn he would have folded and you could have scooped that pot. Good 1st big tourney! You
