I'm from the Uk and discovered Katelyn Tuohy last year. What a Warrior she is. She knows it's going to hurt but she does it anyway. What she did at Stillwater last November will be remembered and talked about for months and years to come. Parker Valby is no slouch and yet Katelyn gave her more than 10 seconds and still caught her. She is so humble and always runs for the team. She will break 15mins for the 5000 this year.

Katelyn Touhy is one of those people who is a prodigy of sorts. Early on, those who know, recognized a talent for track rare in one so young. Much like when we hear a five year old play Beethoven like a pro, and say, no way! That was Katelyn Touhy when she ran. Now, here she is, a more mature runner, showing us a highlight from such a gifted athlete. An absolute pleasure to see her control a race, and, seemingly with little effort, let us glimpse her gift first hand.

I've been watching smce she was in high school, because I lived in Rockland county then, and my daighter runs track. The thing about Tuohy is her form. It's perect, it's relentless, and it doesn't fall apart. She doesn't break form, there is no 'pain face', she just runs as fast as her body can run, when she wants her body to run. She kind of a training video. I don't know if she'll break 15mins for the 500 this year, but if she does, it will look like 15:45. She doesn't waste energy on 'look at how hard I'm trying'

TRP, Fantastic video yet again. From the technical, on screen graphics to an excellent voice over, your videos are totally professional. I really hope, from a financial perspective, that perhaps some media company contracts your output. The time length for them of your videos is excellent. As for this particular video subject, I have been watching Katelyn's performances for many years. She seems to be in good coaching hands, so I hope they don't over race her in her remaining time in the NCAA College contract. Physically she has matured nicely and, providing the wide opportunities of "life happening" don't sidetrack her (Career job opportunities, personal relationships, marriage/children etc) then she could be a world beater by Olympics 2028. I was surprised she didn't compete at the World Cross-country Champs just held in Australia. It would have been interesting to test her performance against her real world opposition in an event she would be strong in. Cheers.

You're right. The other day I said, in an overly effusive mood, that when she started out as a middle-schooler beating NY stud runners she was a waif, a pixie, a forest sprite. Now she has metamorphosed into a being that is part she-wolf and part cheetah. How did she make such a spectacular transition from HS to college when so many HS phenoms fall by the wayside? I think it's because of recognizing why so many fall short. It's because they turn from petite nymphs with huge lungs and an exceptional strength to weight ratio, into... women. The biological changes require adding pounds of insulating body fat to prepare one for childbearing. It's just biology. I think KT's secret is she has put on weight as natural fat gain, but has preserved or improved her strength to weight ratio through brutal core and upper body training. The 'hills pay the bills' because she has the prodigeous upper body and core strength to power up those hills... and through final stages of the distance races. When people study her success they will see this. If her N Rockland coach Brian Diglio doesn't have a side gig already consulting on his training methods, he could if he wanted.

I have been cheering Katelyn for YEARS. I wonder what times she could run if she was permitted to use the Nike Alphafly2 that Eliud Kipchoge wears. Reports indicate an improvement of about 4% - which would drop her mile from 4:24 to 4:14 and her 3000m time from 8:35 to 8:15 and her 5000m time from 15:15 to 14:45 WOW!

That’s for road races, not track events. Spikes are better than alpha flys for track.

Very few athletes I follow. K. Tuohy and Laura Muir are just something special. I wonder if or when they will race eachother. I don't know the ins and outs of track, so I don't even know if they're doing the same things. If that makes any sense.

@@johnafagerquist8235 Probably only a slim chance they would meet anyway. While they both are talented enough to range from the 1500 to the 5k (and perhaps beyond when they get older), I think Laura has pretty much settled at the 1500 these days, while Tuohy seems to be gravitating towards the longer distances in college. But I agree, love Laura Muir, so nice to see her medal in Tokyo. And Tuohy is just a massive talent, albeit still young and still not quite ready to take on the likes of a Laura Muir or her peers.

@@molder2233 i don't know i used to think that too, but if kt keeps cutting her times down all she needs to do is run more 1500's and she'll catch muir in no time.

Wondering how close Katelyn is also getting to breaking 4 minutes in the 1500? Let's face it she is a triple threat for NCAA and as she gets older all the American records for the 1500, 3k and 5k.
