Quitting isn't a sign of courage! It means you don't want to face the harsh reality, it's taking the easy way out. What keeps me in the game is pure passion and it's never-ending as long as I'm alive. What makes trading stress free is taking less risk, two trades only and not trading everyday, trading only when your setup emerges. I've seen that big money can be made with less risk. Controlling greed is important. Trail the stoploss when the market is moving in a strong direction. Some traders overcomplicate trading with their analysis paralysis. Trading lower timeframes like 1 mins or 15 seconds is extremely stressful. Most traders that talk about quitting are these lowest timeframe traders. Remember two trades only, win or loss doesn't matter, revenge trading make you quit for sure.

Loved this episode, particularly the review of past guests and the ensuing discussion between Ian and Tessa. Key take away for me ...be it your trading style or to continue trading if you haven't reached consistency.... is to do what feels right for you... cheers keep it up.

great idea. I think if you could take all the episodes and extract/cross-references them by individual topics, it would be valuable.

The hope ... But after almost 6 years in and basically a break-even trader. It's hard to keep the passion. The fact I havn't blown up keeps me here though. Just waiting for my time to shine.

You'll need some special edge, like a custom AI indicator. Then again, maybe try trading the daily 10ma like suggested on a recent interview lol.

a consistent pattern I've seen is that I make money ... and then when my edge cools off if you will, I slowly bleed the gains over a long period of time ... then my edge comes back and I make money again, and then I slowly bleed it all away again. I either need to recognize when my edge disappears (hard to do) and avoid trading all together, or just slam the risk super hard when market is in my favor, and then retire with gains. I don't see how anyone does this long term ... you almost gotta make your money then get the fuck out of here before you lose it all

Althoigh i tried to get in back in 2009, i didnt stick with it because of the lack of edu resources at the time and my drive. I'm in for 6 years as of August 2023 and finally starting to crush trading. About 18 months ago I had the same feeling but it's mostly about putting in 5000-10000 hours watching candles develop, having an EFFECTIVE strategy you know works very well (elliot wave theory), and then learning to master the mental game. I gave up a lot including all of my savings and giving up a decent job to work 3 jobs and close to 80 hours a week for nearly 3 years. In 2017 I chose to commit and give up everything if necessary to succeed or die trying.

Trading is like UBI for the few traders who know what to pay attention to and what to ignore. Ultimately, there is a glass ceiling once your trades start impacting the market lol. For example, in my fav recent interview, the guest mentioned off-hand, that simply following the daily 10ma will score you a 90% win rate. I'm trying this on the 3x index ETFs (tna, upro, udow, tqqq, fngu and friends) and it seems to have something to it, as a lot of the dk moves seem to revert-to-mean, and this calls them out.

57:15 The interviewer lost me with this statement I Commend the interviewee standing strong on his viewpoint and advice on “staying in the Game”. What does she mean “quit trading”? My mind is so deep in the Game that the conversation of quitting is profanity to me.
