I remember getting goosebumps when I first played the Omaha beach mission. Soldiers dying left and right. Hiding next to tank traps and holding on for dear life. To this day, it's one of the most intense and memorable gaming scenes I've ever played through.
@tomassandstrom64456 жыл бұрын
Hey man! I hope you played Call of Duty after that, it was actually critically acclaimed right off the bat and making alot of thing better than MOHAA with more focus on bigger scale missions and you almost always had comrades by your side. When I picked up a copy of COD back in 2003 after all the reviews and thing from magazines and then seeing how they pulled off the amazing cinematic things in the game that was fairly unseen before, accept for the beach landing in MOHAA. I remember that the stalingrad missions with the movie Enemy at the gates as inspiration was so epic and even exceeding the beach landing in ways it kinda feelt like a sequel to medal of honor if anything and that might have been the beginning of the downfall of the Medal of Honor series. Cheers man!

Medal of Honor's "thing" was the single player story. The single player campaign aspect of first person shooters has more or less fallen to the wayside. Ergo, Medal of Honor died because single player FPS campaigns died.

Medal of Honor Warfighter was not bad. It honestly felt more grounded than the other shooters out there especially campaign wise. Medal Of Honor 2010 was spectacular as a Marine who deployed to Afghanistan that by far is the most recent shooter that was grounded in reality and gave a boots on the ground experience of the events that happened prior to my deployment. It had great characters and emphasis on focusing on the bond developed between warfighters. By far better campaigns than any call of duty 2010 and on

It's a concensus I think that MoH 2010 campaign was one of the best military shooter games in quite some time. Didn't liked the multiplayer, was a poor man's BFBC2. Warfighter was the inverse, the campaign was bad but the multiplayer was awesome.

One unique feature of "Pacific Assault" that I loved was calling the corpsman to recharge your health. When you fell to the ground, you prayed he would show up and revive you if you didn't call for him before. If he didn't, you heard that Gunny Hartman-type drill sergeant screaming at you. It gave a sense of authenticity compared to collecting health packs or "Wolverine health."

I really liked warfighter. Yeah it had few bugs but almost every game todays have bugs in the release. But for me who fucking loves modern day- near futuristic shooters, this was perfect game. As a big cod fan and even bigger battlefield fan i found it amazing they made something as good looking that took best parts of the both of those games. Warfighter had the amazing visuals and gun gameplay bf3 had at the time, but also gave us cqb battles like the ones we got in cod, and the killstreaks were very well made imo. And the gun customization, i can just hope that some AAA fps game will ever have same type of gun customization. Also the whole worldwide operating forces made the game even better. I really to this day think why people slaughtered warfighter so badly.
@zeph61826 жыл бұрын
MrZampo yeah, the theme of Warfighter was great, the smaller scale battles actually managed to push it to be very team based especially with the fireteams, it was good. I think if you released it today and focused either only on multiplayer or only on campaign you’d have an amazingly successful game.
@ps3076 жыл бұрын
Both MOH 2010 and Warfighter were a blast online and singleplayer was great as well
@saperix6 жыл бұрын
MrZampo Warfighter was too "mature" for most players. It has the best from both worlds: CoD and BF. Plus it has pretty good balance between arcade and realism. On the other hand, it's demanding game when you're highly dependant on your team, especially your FTB. Playing brainless on your own won't get you good. Classes differ a lot and require different tactics, you won't run'n'gun with LMG just like in BF. Most important thing is that EA decided to bring this game down right before its relase. Head of dev team was fired as he refused to relase unfinished product, Danger Close studio was dismantled, game was butchered down - alpha footage was far more better and detailed than final version. There were lots of bugs and stability issues after relase. Most of its serious flaws were patched but most players had left by that time. I've been playing Warfighter since its relase in 2012 and I see its downfall. Great shame that EA destroyed MoH series that way, especially all the legacy of most prestige military award, all soldiers who helped developing this game.
@MrCCR856 жыл бұрын

Warfighter was honestly one of my favorites. I have not played every single war focused game in the market, but of the ones that I have played (which were many) Warfighter actually attempted to provide a personal look at some of the soldiers. I honestly was intrigued by the prospect of a soft focus on what being in the military may do to one's marriage. It was something different that I haven't seen a war video game do before and I liked those little asides in the story. That honestly helped me feel closer to Mother and Preacher as the story progressed.

The worst part is 2010 and warfighter were not terrible. 2010 the campaign was very serious and seemed more like a semi simulation rather than epic shit happening which isn't bad it just could've been much better but the multiplayer was fantastic sure not many unlocks but God was they fun to use it was amazing. And warfighter had issues sure but that multiplayer was alot of fun to and felt meaty when you shot someone. And with 2010 it wasn't bad that they went with modern warfare one type 3 killstreaks but they also had support streaks. Warfighter campaign I can't judge sadly because I believe my PS3 died before I could return to it and beat it plus I was trying other things at the time and multiplayer.

Without taking all other MoH games into consideration, Warfighter could have been an awesome game ( *not an awesome MoH imo, but an awesome game* ) if EA had not rushed it. Its multiplayer mode had great potential. It is simple, yes, but for some reason I find it extremely enjoyable (or would have, if it weren't for the horrible bugs, bad netcode and bad "polishing" in general). (Quick comparison to 2010) I played through 2010's campaign a few times and, even though it was very "not MoH"ish, I actually like it a lot, but Warfighter's campaign was a pain for me and the only reason I made through it is because I hate to leave games unfinished. EDIT: I actually barely played 2010's *MP* mode. *TL;DR:* From *my* point of view, EA killed Medal of Honor by forcing the developing studios to rush it, so they ended up delivering a game that had great potential, but was *far* from finished.

Except the fact the shooting mechanics felt solid in campaign, the optimization was superb and the visuals were indeed better than Battlefield 3 (maybe the campaign was also better than BF3 AFAIR but that's not saying much), the game was meh? The campaign was boring and tedious. Randomly it would get really flashy, COD style for no reason. There story was bleh. The campaign's impact was radically under MoH 2010. Haven't played MP but everyone said it was poorly developed. If MoH2010 is a 7 game, Warfighter really is a 4/5 game.

Robert Coarse Still is. PC servers are still up. There aren't many of us left playing it but at peak time (afternoons & evenings CET) there are 60-80 players online and 3-4 populated servers. Ain't much but still enough to find a place and people to play with.

Thank you! I was a Marine who deployed to Afghanistan it was a breath of fresh air to get a more realistic campaign that focused on the bonds of warfighters and it nailed it to me. Far better than any COD campaign since Call of Duty 2. Also it had asymmetric warfare US Forces vs Taliban in multiplayer not the garbage scrim type matches other games have recently putting blufor vs blufor

WOULINX Because industries don't care about single player anymore. It's all about multiplayer and micro-transactions . I always use to play MoH and COD exclusively for the campaign mode and Battlefield and Arma for the multiplayer. Gaming is shifting towards P2W and micro transactions, adopting principles from mobile gaming. It's been years since I've played an engaging and well thought out campaign for any "war game"

I'm 30 so I'm old enough to have played and appreciate MoH. The original game really was a great play through when it first came out. I remember using the M1 Garand as much as I could haha. The game had a "feel" to the mechanics that other FPS games of the day didn't quite have. It's hard to explain but I'm sure if you were there and played it you know what I mean.

That was the best MoH I've played, and the first FPS on console; that had a great cover-system. These days, if an FPS doesn't have a context-sensitive cover system [context sensitive leaning and peeking]: I simply can't play it. So yeah, the series is missed. And I do believe there'll be another MoH, maybe after a newly acquired company shows off some revolutionary gameplay features, then the safest way to sell that; will be in a WW2 setting.
@zacrast166 жыл бұрын
This is a pretty easy answer....Call of Duty killed Medal of Honor. But Call of Duty pretty much sucks now. So if anything, this is EA’s perfect opportunity to bring back Medal of Honor and make it great again so they can finally top Call of Duty once and for all. I know that I’m definitely in the minority when I say that I actually loved Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor: Warfighter, flaws and all. But if they do bring it back, they need to do it right. No lootboxes, addictive and hugely customizable multiplayer, and a heart wrenching campaign. Maybe even a nice split-screen mode.

War fighter was a fantastic shooter. My favorite of all time to be honest. It bridged the gap between BF and CoD but "loyal" fans were too preoccupied with the other releases. I was a huge fan of everything they did with the class system, real weapons, units and buddy system. The point streaks were even historically acurate. It was a balanced game that required teamwork to win but it's all over now. :-(

Garrett Allain 100% agreed. That was my favorite all time shooter besides socom2 . I stopped playing mohw on the ps3 due to no more hotspot servers. I think I understand why this game got so much hate , it's probably due to having TEAM ORIENTED gameplay which is something a lot of CoD fans can't grasp imo. I seen a lot players just just run and gun all out and die fast then get angry that they are dying. I wish they bring back the HS servers on the ps3
