Just for the record and for clarification: Here are some basic facts and names: we have two German bands here: In the first room we have AnnenMayKantereit (AMK) from Cologne, Germany, with singer Henning May (the guy in the brown t-shirt and the deep voice), Christopher Annen (guitar), Severin Kantereit (percussion) - that's where the strange name of the band comes from, it's just the surnames of the three founding members: Annen, May and Kantereit -, Malte Huck (bass) and Ferdinand Schwarz (trumpet); in the second room we have Giant Rooks from Hamm, Germany, with Frederic Rabe (the singer with the longish hair and the somewhat higher voice), Finn Schwieters (guitar), Finn Thomas (drums), Jonathan Wischniowski (e-piano) and Luca Göttner (the Elvis lookalike on bass). Later Giant Rooks are joined by the AMK people, who come into the room without their instruments - except for Ferdinand, who takes his trumpet with him. The two bands toured together in early 2019, and the video was made during that tour by Lenny Rothenberg and Marius Möller. Henning May (tall guy) is an incredible vocalist! AnnenMayKantereit does most of their stuff in German (which has resulted in me listening to a bunch of music that I love but don't understand a word of!), but there's also a great cover of Roxanne that Henning did with Milky Chance available on KZbin.

If you don't understand a word of German, look for translations of the lyrics. The lyrics are in everyday language, but full of poetry and meaning. AMK are great artists in this field too.

"Can't get you out of my head", definitely. "Roxanne", not so much because Milky Chance's vocalist is super annoying. Henning slays it tho (as usual)

Gentlemen, you might watch their cover of "Roxanne" o the Police. Their recorded it in a half torn down house to get the echo of the empty rooms. This reminds me of the first time I saw Jonny Lang's Lie to Me seeing a 16year old singing the blues sounding like a a 40 year old man who has had the Shit knocked out of him by life. That man has Soul coming out of his pores.

@@weaintraisedrightpodcast both are german bands. AMK (AnnenMayKantereit, the name of the band are the last names of the band founders) is very popular. you should liste to some more cover or their own songs. Giant Rooks i really dont know myself that much.
