The song is a cover of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner (1987). This is a collaboration of two German bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice, May pronounced like "my") is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. AMK do mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. AnnenMayKantereit started out as street musicians over ten years ago, and it shows, especially with these kinda spontaneous sessions, as well as their live performances in general. I frequently prefer their live recordings over the official singles :) (although those are great, too) Just good musicianship and joy to make music and put it out into the world.

Henning may was actually 27 (I think) when this was recorded, he’s 32 now, but basically still looks 20. frederik Rabe was 23 (28 now), but also pretty much still looks like 20.

And for the pronunciation: annen (un (as in under) - nen (you already pronounced that part correctly), may (like my), kantereit (cunt - a - right (with a harsher r). It’s the last names of the three members of the band. You can also just call them AMK. And it’s giant rooks not rocks, so it’s pronounced like books

Henning May looks younger. I think he was 28 at that time. But his voice didn't change significantly since the early days of AMK. On YT you can find even clips of AMK singing in the streets of their home town Cologne collecting money.
