One minor thing you missed; the Swatchling "Warmify" and "Coldify" acts. * Talked about the color of the summer sun shining on a beach ball. * Talked about the steam of a fresh hot chocolate. * Talked about the warmth of a loving embrace. * Talked about the crunch of the last pickle in the refrigerator. * Talked about the chill of the wind on the ice skating pond. * Talked about the snow matted on your brother's nose. Since these acts have much longer descriptions and are more effective at changing the Swatchlings' colors than Susie's or Ralsei's acts in this fight, it could be said that they care a lot about these topics and are poetic in expressing them.

29:30 A good theory I’ve heard is that Kris slashing the tires accomplished 2 things: 1) Susie gets to stay and sleep over. I think Kris would enjoy this on its own but I don’t think the reason is solely for the pleasure of it. Kris wanted to create a dark fountain and wants Susie there. 2) The tire slashing got Toriel to call the cops, which is what I think was Kris’s real angle. Kris has been trying to tell Undyne about the dark worlds for 2 chapters now. This is why Kris opened the door before making the dark fountain. As for why Kris made the dark fountain, one can only guess. It’s weird they made one right after being told about the Roaring, but maybe they figured just one more fountain wouldn’t do any harm. I think Kris wants to prove what’s going on to the adults in their life. They can’t speak freely or do what they want to do, so this is a desperation move on Kris’s part to get some control over the situation.

@@shadowstrike07 Not sure if it's true or not, but another commenter mentioned that: "if you start straight from chapter two, Kris makes certain choices around Hometown in chapter one. They tell Undyne about the dark world, and they don't visit Asgore." Can't really be taken as final proof, but I do think it's a major hint that points towards Kris wanting to tell Undyne about the dark worlds. But then again, the original commenter isn't sure if it's true and I'm honestly too lazy to test it out myself rn so it could very well be wrong

@@proxi315 I also can't be too sure. But I played Chapter 2 on a different computer and account than the one I played chapter 1 in. I remember when talking to Undyne and telling her about the dark world again she made a comment about how I'd said something like that previously. So yes, Kris on their own seems to be inclined towards telling Undyne about the dark worlds.

Honestly that interpretation would make Kris' decision to create a new dark fountain even after the weird route make a lot of sense. Now they they know people's lives are in danger it would only increase their urgency to get the adults involved.

I definitely think Kris wants to remain silent instead of reciprocating with “It’s nice that Ralsei is Ralsei.” Because the very compliment that Ralsei gave them “It’s nice that you are you.” Rings so hollow given their current predicament. Ralsei doesn’t even know the real Kris, I think this is partly why Kris is not so overtly fond of him.

It makes sense, kris already knows Susie and Noelle which is probably why their tea heals much more than Ralsei’s, I don’t think Kris necessarily hates him per say, but yeah.

Something I’d like to mention about the “Snowgrave” route is that Kris doesn’t just not want it, they actively try to stop it. There are many opportunities where you can exit the route, in which the dialogue choices where you exit it start off dismissive, but then throughout the route they become more apologetic and even desperate. After Berdly gets iced Kris straight up refuses to let the soul see Noelle while she’s with Susie unlike the normal route, probably in fear of either of them getting hurt. And in the Spamton Neo fight they cry out for help from everyone everyone except Noelle. Remember, YOU call for her. Kris probably would’ve rather died to Spamton at that point. I have a feeling once there’s nothing left to lose Kris is going to be the final boss, with you taking control of the vessel.

Also, if you STARE Berdly until his mercy bar is full, the snowgrave is aborted and a happy tune can be heard. Although it is us that can act, the fact that Kris can only stare screams of how much he didn't want any of this to happen. Either a last act of defiance or a plead for it to stop. Maybe after chapter 3 snowgrave Kris will actually start opposing the player, since it has the power to do a massacre, or will act more submissive since it knows what happens when it opposes us, slowly disappearing.

@@pros_0143 this seems very likely to me. if kris is unhappy with us controlling them even in the NORMAL route, then i think another weird route is enough to make them hit their breaking point. i believe that part of the reason why kris opened the dark fountain was because the dark worlds might have some way of helping them free themself

I think ralsei claiming Kris to be "passionate" in their response about gaming could just be ralsei misreadings kris's tone because ralsei probably isn't really good at reading social cues because he's been alone for so long and is only now actually experiencing anything

Everyone knows that Ralsei and Asriel share the same letters and are goats, so if we assume that ralsei is some kind of dark world version of asriel OR (my personal favourite) a dark world version of Kris' younger self (missing green crayon, red horn headband they wore as a kid etc) then ralsei is probably remembering how enthusiastic Kris was for games when they used to play with their brother when they were both younger.

I think that given the fact it was said with no intonation, "losing sleep from being Susie's partner" makes sense as something Kris would say sarcastically. Like maybe they're losing sleep in a good way, from going to and/or thinking about the Dark World, which they found because of being her partner. Or even like when restaurant customers say "oh the food was absolutely awful" when they've clearly enjoyed it. After all, Kris is known for sarcasm and silly jokes and antics.

There's a lot of interesting things in the game that show Kris' personality. How they hate reading the paper about Asgore and the police department, the fact that they willingly eat the moss in Chapter 2 and are pleased at finding it according to Noelle, their hurt face after *the route which shall not be named,* the various implications that they dislike how them being human makes them different from the rest of their family and the town, literally anything even remotely related to Asriel, their various interactions with Noelle on the normal route, their interactions with the Choco Diamond, and that's just to name a few. Kris has a ton of various things in the game that reveal and expand on a good deal about their character. I like how Toby's left so much info available in the game like this, if you just look for it.

I think with things like asgores paper, the book on humans, and Asriels room in the castle, it's less that kris doesn't want to see it and more that kris doesn't want YOU to see it. Imagine a being you know very little about has possessed you, I wouldn't want them prying on sensitive/emotional information either like my father being laid off, my adoption, and my brothers search history

@@ari638 So, for one, note Kris' various reactions to the books when you read them. They're not like Kris trying to hide information from you, they're somewhat more instinctive and emotional reactions. They don't feel...thought out, per se. If Kris was thinking from the start that they didn't want you to read the items, they could just close their eyes, like with Azzy's room. Instead, they actually start to read the items, even reading the newspaper on their own, only to stop when something that would logically discomfort them appears. They didn't stop reading the book on humans because they didn't want you to read it (given that it's a book on human care that they don't really have a reason to read said book, and combined with their reaction, this is probably their first time opening it), they aggressively and swiftly slam the book shut upon seeing a picture of a bunch of humans. They have no issue reading the book, only seeing the picture actually bothers them. This reaction is entirely logical, as we already have hints in the game that Kris isn't entirely comfortable with them being different from their family (one of which being the fake goat horns they used to wear to feel more like their family) and the other townspeople. They're the only human in their town, different from everyone they know. Kris wouldn't want to have that fact stuffed deeper into their face. As for the newspaper, they only stopped reading after being forced to read how Asgore basically got fired from the police force, with the wording, "...there's no need to read any more." That doesn't feel as much "Kris doesn't want us specifically to see this", more like "Kris doesn't want to keep thinking about this topic." The narration says that Kris is basically just skimming this since they're right next to it, they've probably never read this article before. The section about Asgore caught them as off-guard as us, they probably just didn't want to read it. The paper wasn't even really about Asgore, there wasn't even really that much about him in this Undyne-focused article, but even seeing a minor mention of what happened with him made Kris want to stop reading.

There's definitely something to be said in that it's basically never Ralsei saying what Kris's expression is. It's almost always Susie. Because Susie has a genuine care for Kris and tries to understand them. This isn't to say Ralsei doesn't care about Kris, but I certainly think he actually tries to understand Kris less. Susie is empathetic and Ralsei is sympathetic.

Snowgrave details worth mentioning: Kris does not eat moss in the route. We know from the normal route dialogue that this is something Kris normally enjoys, so this could be an indication Kris is upset and doesn't want to do something that would normally make them happy. Kris is said to look upset or hurt after Berdly's death. And, the biggest, most obvious one: "Kris called for help" but *"You* whispered Noelle's name" making it very clear Kris isn't okay with Noelle being manipulated, as they aren't the one to call for her.

I think it would make a lot of sense for Kris to dislike or feel neutral on Ralsei, but his tea healing them 60 hp just… doesn’t convince me of that? The most common reason I see cited as to why 60 hp = dislike/neutral is that it’s only 10 hp higher than what Ralsei heals from Noelle tea. But the thing is, even though he doesn’t really know her, he still likes her. He describes her tea as “soft and sweet” and in the unused acid lake dialogue he calls her a nice girl and praises her for mastering the ice element. (On the other hand, Noelle is very unaware of Ralsei to the point of his tea literally being empty for her) Also, Noelle tea heals Kris 70 hp, and she’s an old friend they’re reconnecting with. Most importantly, many of Ralsei’s party member descriptions describe him as Kris’s friend. I don’t ship kralsei or anything and I don’t think Kris wants to hug him or nibble on his dummy but numerically it just doesn’t make sense to me that 60 hp indicates dislike or even neutrality. Anyway, I’m glad you mentioned Kris doesn’t actually like Spamton as a person. They might relate to his situation, but he’s still a creepy grown ass man trying to get them to meet him alone. I think a lot of players project onto Kris and assume that they’re upset post-Spamton NEO because they liked Spamton, but it’s far more reasonable to me that they’re upset because they’re worried about what his fate as a puppet means for their own. He betrayed them and true to kill them and their friends instead of helping them, after all! Overall, fantastic job!

I feel as though it's fair to say that Kris doesn't necessarily like or dislike Spamton, per se. He disturbs them a bit, and there's aspects of him Kris doesn't like, but it's more like Kris...pities Spamton. They may not necessarily like him because he's creepy and unstable, but they understand him. Even if you have to start the Spamton deal path, Kris willingly goes along by asking Susie and Ralsei to stay back. If they were so disturbed or uncomfortable in that scenario, why wouldn't they bring their friends in with them as backup? They were willing to help him somewhat, even without our input. Had Kris not chosen to speak, they would have gone with them to meet Spamton. As for the Ralsei thing, yeah. 60 HP seems decent for "I literally just met you yesterday, but you seem nice enough". It's a small step above neutral. Kris is willing to consider Ralsei a friend of sorts, if only a new one they don't really know yet.

Gotta agree with this. At most Kris is neutral on Ralsei, but it's not on a dislike level. They don't feel as much affection for him as the player though, and I do believe the overly friendly choices are all on us, not Kris, especially cause we know from Asgore Kris doesn't exactly like stuff like hugs. They probably see him as a friend, just not their closest one at all. It's interesting however that despite spending most of their day together during chapter 1 and barely any with Susie, they made such an emotional connection with her and yet have a much more smaller one with Ralsei, lot of great character interactions are being set up here and I'm very excited for that.

@@Debater it’s true, Kris tells Susie and Ralsei to stay outside when they go into Spamton’s shop. I don’t think that means they wanted to go in though, after all in his shop the “leave” option is replaced with “RUN AWAY” and it’s much bigger. But I do think they relate to Spamton enough to risk going into his shop alone if they’re forced to go, even if they were scared.

I think the dialogue between Toriel and Alphys is interesting because Toriel says she’s been worried about Kris lately and Alphys thinks “just lately?” I think that because Toriel is their mother, she can tell the change in demeanor Kris has had since we begin controlling them, while Alphys being only their teacher and not really invested in them just thinks Kris is being their usual weirdo self.

A few missed moments: -Berdly asking Kris if they want to join him in the "Smartopia" Saying yes has Berdly react to a sarcastic tone of voice, but this much is probably obvious -Kris ACTing a toast to Queen so she drinks away her walls (wait a minute...) Susie comments that they worded it very emotionally, implying Kris seems to enjoy the idea of playing the boxing game with Queen, since they also approach the console of their own volition in that cutscene as well! (I think the passionate delivery of "Perish" earlier might just have been them hamming up their response because they know it sounds overly dramatic, but will advance the plot) -Kris hugging Ralsei for the boat ride photo before fighting Spamton NEO Normally, Ralsei respects their personal space and just says "I'll be right here next to you until you feel better", but if you chose to do the boat ride first with the hug photo, Ralsei takes that as implied consent for him to hug Kris to comfort them when they yell "No I'm not ok". If you choose to believe Ralsei knows when the player is forcing Kris to do something, this can debatably feel a bit icky, but maybe he's just trying not to give away that he knows about the player and acts in an epistemologically consistent way to not raise alarm ("How would Ralsei know what Kris/Player wants?!") Perhaps a separate video going over every last option in Ch2 light world?

im very on the fence about ralsei at the moment. i cant decide if ralsei butters up the player because the soul is what actually has the power to close the fountains and ralsei is prioritizing saving the world over his friends or if ralsei does actually have some secret plan with kris to stop us and he doesnt want us to know about it. theres lots of evidence toward both and its driving me crazy that we have no way of knowing yet

About the bunker scene in chapter 2, Susie clearly shows how much she values Kris as a friend, as after the conversation between Snowy and Monster Kid has them talking bad about Kris, Susie steps over to defend Kris, in her own chaotic way: Scaring the two to protect Kris as her friend. Susie may be rude and mean, but as we've seen throughout what we've known ingame so far, Susie clearly cares about Kris allot, but just doesn't always show it in an obvious typical way that most would show how much they value their friend. She expresses it either somewhat passively, or in a chaotic way, as seen at the bunker scene in chapter 2, as well as post-Spamton Neo scene if you force Kris to lie about them being okay, as in that scene, Susie makes some sort of joke in her own way, to help Kris feel better.

Absolutely, Susie may have a very rough exterior, but she's probably the character with the most love to give. She's known the fun gang for barely a day yet would give it all for all of them. The tea is actually an indicator of this, as all 3 of them heal 120 for her. She cares deeply about Kris, and connects with them a lot, it's a very sweet friendship!!

Although you’re completely right and she cares about them a lot, after reading Noelle’s blog, I was kind of bothered by their relationship. Noelle states that Kris is « literally getting bullied » by Susie, which implies that her grabbing Kris by the hair and yelling at them is rather frequent. It doesn’t have to be extremely emotional, or take a long time, but I hope in future chapters, Susie will officially apologise for treating Kris this way. Maybe once something really big is revealed about her home life ? Maybe once her Rudeness is down to 50. It would be a big step for her.

10:15 Kris is a well-known prankster/troll; I think it makes perfect sense for them to shout "PERISH!" with a ton of enthusiasm. For one, it's just a fun word to say. But also, Queen is pretty obviously framing this question with an obvious answer. Imagine if she'd said "Would you rather be sent to the plane of eternal torment, or get ice cream?" and Kris shouts "TORMENT!!! XD" I think that sums it up pretty well. (not saying your wrong about Kris wanting to die necessarily, but there's other angles to their answer. Perhaps both aspects play into it.)

I think it’s important to keep in mind that Kris is sometimes pretty mischievous and quirky. When they say that gaming is their life in a monotone voice or how they respond at 10:14 to Queen, I could personally also it as sarcasm. If Kris is a weird edgy teen, I don’t think it’s too far fetched for them to joke about wanting to die, you see a lot of the weird kids in middle school and high school saying stuff like that. Also, at 13:45, the part with Noelle and the electric fence, we know that her and Kris have a history together as kids. Annoying Noelle before she gets to the fence and responding to her question about the dog treats feel in line with how two friends might mess around with each other and banter. To me, this genuinely feels like something Kris would do to Noelle, based on what we know of their past. It’s what happens if you almost hurt Noelle while she’s about to past the fence where Kris seems to feel like the player is taking things too far. I’m sure it’s reassuring when Noelle teases Kris back while you try to crossover, but Kris might look hurt because they wouldn’t have pushed things that far on their own.

There's also some other indicative dialogue in Queen's Mansion if you go to the area with all the different character's search rooms. For all of them you can choose yo peek inside or not, but with Asriel's door, say Yes and it will say something like "You looked through the door with your eyes closed. You saw nothing" which seems to indicate either Kris really doesn't want to look at Asriel's searches AND/OR they really don't want US to be able to see what's there. If you come back with Susie, she also makes fun of whatever contents are in the room, and upon hearing it's Kris' brother, implies she'd tease him a lot for it. Interesting ;)

I think kris not wanting to hug the ralsei plush could just be them wanting to be seen as cool by Susie. As a lot of characters in deltarune are trying to act in a way that Susie would find appealing. Berdly, noelle, and kris all seem to be that way based on the game and spamton sweepstakes. Kris has been picked on enough by Susie to understand what generally will set her off.

I feel that maybe Kris just doesn't know Ralsei very well yet. Of course, they could just not like him, but at the same time, we've seen them like Noelle and Susie more and I think that's because they've actually interacted before the dark worlds and have more of a history than with Ralsei (who they've presumably met in chapter 1). Susie seems to grow close to people or be friendly very quickly after chapter 1, but Kris seems far more reserved. I don't really know why we're all really quick to assume Ralsei is a liar, as opposed to just maybe socially inept and awkwardly attempting to understand friendship, or how we assume Kris dislikes Ralsei.

Yeah more kris character analysis! excellent. This is a really good breakdown, but there were a couple of things you either missed or glossed over: 1: If you choose to "join" when berdly asks you to, kris says it "sarcastically", though it isn't exactly unexpected that kris prefers to remain aligned with susie. 2: i'm going to lump these two together because they get across the same idea; If you refuse "triple trucies" with noelle she reacts like they're joking, and the characters react similarly if you say "she is our enemy". this isn't terribly surprising either, but it indicates that kris wants noelle as an ally. 3: in hometown the option to ask more about burgerpants/pizzapants' supposed girlfriend is "lie and day you're interested", which is probably self-explanatory but nonetheless funny. 4: the dialogue when repeatedly examining the berdly statue suggests that they're taking the opportunity to tease Noelle. 5: there are actually three different ads that kris can click with the poppups. the other two are "demon summoning classes for teens" referencing their affinity for the occult, and "monsters for humans in your area" ...no comment 5: when you try to look inside asriel's room in the dark world, kris opens it with their eyes closed. this has a few interpretations. maybe kris just wants to respect asriel's privacy, maybe they find the idea of looking at it painful for some reason, or maybe there's something in there that kris specifically wants to hide from _us,_ the player. (Susie's assessment of the room could lend support to any of these honestly) there's also a couple thongs you seemed uncertain or confused about that I have some thoughts on. For the cheese, I think they're doing that to mess with noelle, similarly to how they dropped yoshi down a pit to mess with asriel in the past. As you noted on multiple occasions ralsei seems to take kris' answers at face value despite it being obvious to everyone else that they don't mean it. My take on this is that ralsei cares more about the player's feelings than he does about kris'. We can be _reasonably_ sure that he knows about the player since he seemingly deliberately directs our attention elsewhere to talk to kris. This read is also supported by the fact that the thing where ralsei blushes if you stand close to him only happens if his sprite overlaps the part of kris' sprite where the soul is when dodging out of combat, and the soul is our most diect point of contact with deltarune's world(s). As for kris not liking ralsei, it's probably at least partly because they know that he sees them primarily as a vessel for the player, but it could also be that his resemblance to asriel makes them uncomfortable. Another thing supporting kris'discomfort with spamton is that back/exit/cancel options in his store are written as "RUN AWAY" and "ESCAPE". Again, it's a great video, i just wanted to share my thoughts. PS. _finally_ someone other than me notices the kiwami japan reference

About Spamton, a point can be made that Kris actually did care for Spamton, mabye being freaked out at first but actually feeling kinship towards him. There doesn't seem to be hesitation or fear when Spamton tries to take Kris' soul (which is something we know Kris can do, ex: walking back when they meet Spamton, when they see the closet, defending susie from the king, etc.) I think Kris, at least to some degree, did wanna help Spamton, and did actually get hopefull WITH Spamton, just to realize he couldn't be free. I recommend JaruJaruJ's video about spamton, "A Nuanced Tragedy", it's rlly well made and it touches on this topic :)

On the contrary, I think Kris quite liked Spamton? Or at the very least, were invested in the quest. It's true that they back away when Spamton first talks to them, but when Spamton starts talking about making a deal for freedom, they let him get up close and personal, until his nose is basically touching their chest. It's only when Spamton mentions their soul that they back away again. Also, when you input the disk and nothing happens, you can check a second time. Kris begins to kick and punch it unprompted, like they're very upset that it didn't work. A piece of evidence that is perhaps mor3 speculatory is the 'friends' prompt when talking to Spamton in the shop. This isn't a direct speech line for Kris to repeat, so they could really say anything. A more disgruntled Kris could say 'Don't you have any other friends?', signalling to the player this is against their will. However, Spamton responds as if they said 'are we friends?' This implies that Kris genuinely cares for Spamton, or at least wants to make that deal.

At the option "We can use the computer at home" I always thought Kris would actually say this line, but not because they're being reluctant to adventure... they're just being a smart ass. "We can use the computer at home." Always felt like you'd get that slowly growing wide smile as if to say "Yeah, but we ain't tho." Also I disagree with your view on Spamton. I think Kris _did_ like Spamton, and this combines with your idea of saying *Perish* with enthusiasm. There's a couple of videos on it already, which you may or may not have seen, but aside from the fact that Kris _personally_ respects his wishes of doing things alone without our consent which shows it's something _they want to honor_ there's something else that's really important to note. When Kris is being attacked by Spamton, they don't move at all and simply sit there. When the soul appears to fire, that also is not Kris because _we_ are the ones hitting Z and pulling the trigger and not them. They were wiling to lay there and simply take it, and this leads some (myself included) to suspect that Kris was actually willing to simply _let_ Spamton take their soul. I agree the whole ordeal left them shooketh, but I don't think they disliked Spamton... not entirely.

Kris was very attached to their adoptive brother, and doesn't want to be reminded of someone that isn't there. I relate to that a lot. Ralsei has said before in chapter 1 “Our purpose - Darkners’ purpose - is to assist them. It’s the only way we can feel truly fulfilled.” And then in chapter 2 “Queen, Think of the Lightners! Aren’t we supposed to make them happy?” So his whole purpose in his life is revolving around those ideals, and it seems to me that that’s *all* he cares about. With that in mind, there’s something else I noticed that really rubs me the wrong way. During the 'yes' option, after Ralsei offers Kris cake (both chocolate and butterscotch/cinnamon) in a way that, to me, feels like smothering, Susie says "well, their stomach's rumbling, but the goosebumps aren't gone" and Ralsei goes "Kris, if you're cold you can share my scarf..." which, with him saying this I don't even think he's considering that those goosebumps aren't from them being cold, *it's from them being scared*. But of course, since he's usually more focused on *not* focusing on what specifically made them upset, and would rather push that aside and ignore it, he goes to the only other thing that goosebumps are related to, *being cold*. And what does he do? What he's supposed to do, try to make them feel better, comfort them with everything in his arsenal, only think about *him*. Except Susie kinda gets in the way of that, by unknowingly doing a way better job than Ralsei does at calming Kris down, and I think Kris knows that, since they’re the one who asks for Susie’s jacket instead of taking Ralsei’s scarf (which I’ve noticed leaves Ralsei kinda confused?)

Adding to the "perish" dialogue, while there is a lot of comedy in these games (ut/dr) some people tend to forget how many times it touches the subject of suicide, it just does it in such a respectful and non-explicit way that you forget its even there (ex: alphys, chara. what asriel implies when asking frisk why they climbed mt ebott in the first place, etc) Adding the themes of alienation, hopelessness and loneliness we get from kris's character into the mix, it doesn't seem that much of a stretch that they struggle with these thoughts Tldr: even though the perish/bosom dialogue alone is comedy, the topic of suicide is not off the table when it comes to Kris and we definitely can't rule it out just because it's deltarune

No, I don't see the reason why Noelle would be sarcastic in her own thoughts. I am thoroughly convinced that Kris does like dog treats. I like them too. I actually bought a bag for myself as a "snack" when I had to go to the store to get some lettuce for my Guinea pigs, as well as cat food for my rescue cat, several neighbourhood cats and crows. The treats are called Tbonz (by Friskies) and they're great, at least to me. Kris is, in neurotypical language, "unusual". Of course, in actuality, they are just themselves, a bit uncommon, and there's nothing wrong with that. It 100% fits them to try things out like dog food, they appear to be a bit rebellious anyway. Either way, loving the video because of the attention to detail! Excellent improvement in audio volume too! /honest

the "gaming is my life" response might be a meta reference since kris's life is quite literally a video game that we are playing. kris might have been trying to throw in a dig against us with the way they said it also i think kris slashed the tires so that toriel would call the police. if you talk to undyne theres an option to tell her about the dark world, which she doesnt believe, and kris even specifically opens the front door almost as if theyre inviting her to come in. its possible that kris wants undynes help in dealing with whatevers going on with them, which i dont blame them after spamton and snowgrave. kris might have even opened up that dark fountain as a way to guarantee the next dark world is on their terms. we have susie who doesnt listen to the player, their mom who will notice if they act strange and refuses to bend her morals, and undyne who is undyne. all of these characters are ones that wont be easily manipulated like noelle was. kris might have turned the tv on because of spamton mentioning tv that one time. they might be more determined to get to the bottom of all of this after seeing what happened to spamton

Ralsei is acting weird around the players choices vs what Kris wants and I think I know why. At the start, I found him saying that “The darkners have to serve lightners” to be a little creepy, not because of him but because the idea of people existing to serve others is creepy in itself. I didn’t think much about that though. The think is, I noticed that both of this dark worlds are things people use to entertain themselves. The first is around table games, we can see this through the theme and design of the place and characters (Lancer is a card in Kris’s pocket). The second world is the internet and it is possible that the third will have something to do with television 📺 (because Kris turns it on before creating the fountain) What else has been created to entertain? Video games. Maybe Ralsei is interested in all this to “serve” and entertain the player because Darkners purpose is to serve lightners. I don’t necessarily think he’s going to have some “evil villain” reveal, but he probably thinks this is what he has to do.

I feel like in the Weird Route, every time we get a new option between literally anything else (i.e: "Sorry, I'll do the puzzle.", "I'm protecting her from you!", etc.) and "Proceed.", it's as if Kris is asking, begging us to stop this, to pick something else, to not continue corrupting their friend. Kris may have an influence on what dialogue choices we get, or if we get any at all, like when Ralsei asks us if we're wondering how Susie and Noelle are doing. If on a Weird Route, we simply don't get to choose to see them or not. On a side note, I'm glad you upped your mic's volume lmao. Something about snowgrave is that (as far as I know) it’s the only time where picking an option actually makes kris MOVE. The way spamton talks in his snowgrave route also suggests that this is what kris wants (“you think making [frozen chicken] with your [side chick] would let you drink up all that [freedom sauce]!?” Plus “don’t blame me when your all alone in a broken home wishing you let your old pal spamton [kill] you”) but as other people have pointed out, they also seem to be AGAINST snowgrave in the same time. The dialogue options sound kind of desperate, when they reunite with ralsei and susie ralsei points out that kris looks hurt, they straight up refuse to let you see what’s going on between susie and Noelle (or maybe he doesn’t want to talk to ralsei? They seem to talk about something every time the perspective changes back to them) and obviously, the fact that it says “YOU called Noelle”, meaning they clearly didn’t want to call for Noelles help (probably to not make her worse) Although, something else about the snowgrave route is after the dark world as well, where you talk to Noelle in the hospital. You can move. YOU. by hitting the directional keys. Plus Noelle hearing the “voice that’s unlike kris’s”. It seems to be this weird mix of wanting freedom while your taking control of them even more…or, judging by Noelle… Your reach of control getting bigger then just kris, opening the possibility for you to control other characters as well.

And just a random theory to throw out here, but I think KRIS might not like Ralsei / feels neutral because of how much they miss Asriel and how similar they are in appearance. KRIS is a very distant and silent character, who usually spends their time with Asriel who I guess one could say, is their 'best friend' (throwing in an Undertale reference here). But Ralsei may look like Asriel but is not Asriel, and I think KRIS knows that, and it possibly could create a pretty neutral and empty feeling for them even more. Additionally I find it weird that Ralsei is an acronym for Asriel, but is likely not Asriel for two reasons. Asriel is at university and seems to be much older than Kris, meaning they'd be likely and quite noticeably taller sprite wise. And secondly, it is theorized that Asriel, like his father, isn't exactly the best with names. So I don't know how Asriel would form that acronym. But, yet, Asriel also was a room in Queen's castle or whatever--which I find collectively really confusing. It makes me wonder if Ralsei is Asriel's son or something, but without knowing just how old they both are, that could also be an extremely far-fetched theory as well.

Hey so for your audio, it might be helpful to use a compressor. It'll reduce your volume when you're speaking loudly which will help reduce all the clipping (also, a windscreen or pop filter of some sort would help with all the peaks that happen when you say "p" or "b" words), and you can also use the compressor to make your quieter parts more audible. This makes your speaking volume more consistent, which can also help when you try to match the level in another video. Also keep in mind you could always reduce the volume of other clips instead of raising your own! You did a good job with this video and the previous one, looking forward to more content in the future.

You should really do a "What Frisk REALLY Wants to Say" video. Despite being much more quiet there are quite a few moments in Undertale where Frisk's personality is able to shine through, in how they respond to situations and how they end up doing what you tell them to. For example, in Genocide they walk forward on their own and smile at encounters, though with how many times Undertale shows people smiling to deal with pain I don't think this is out of enjoyment, I think they're terrified. There's also the moment in the True Lab where you tell them to laugh at Snowdrake's Mom, and they refuse, showing that they do indeed have some control over their actions at least if they disagree with you enough. That also might sorta imply that they aren't as aware of the resets as you might expect them to be, as if they knew that they could come back after death they probably wouldn't be quite as scared in the Genocide route. I think they're going along with you because they're a kid and don't know any better, and this situation is so new and scary that they kinda just shut down and let you take control. The stepping forward is probably a fight or flight response. There's a few other good moments, like their tone of voice in certain situations, and even just the general dialogue options presented as some are likely from Frisk's own thoughts, though there's also some Chara in there which muddies things a bit. Since Undertale is a full, complete game, I think theres more then enough there to make a full video on, tho it'd require scrubbing through the dialogue to try and find all the subtle instances of Frisk showing their personality.

This video is super interesting! I knew that we could infer things about Kris from the way they do the stuff the player makes them do, but it’s cool to see them compiled together. About Ralsei, I think that he’s not really there for Kris, he’s there for *us.* he wants the player to like him and to have fun with the game, while fully disregarding Kris themself. HalfBreadChaos also looked into some really telling things in the Japanese localization. Since Japanese is so particular with its ‘I’ and ‘you’ pronouns, and has so many of them, it’s way easier to infer who is speaking and to whom, and what their relationship is when one or several of those is left ambiguous. For example, Ralsei refers to us as ‘kimi’ which is the friendly and familiar ’you’ pronoun, but also deviates from that in certain instances. It’s pretty neat Also I wanted to say in just the short time between part one and two your video editing has gotten way better, keep it up! :) (and thanks for using Kris’s correct pronouns, I’m nb and it bugs me sooo much when people don’t)

For the "gaming is my life" option, we do get indications that Kris still plays video games (with Berdly, actually). Kris having a reputation for being a "pro gamer" is something that Noelle seems to endearingly tease them about. Personally I always interpreted that moment as either Kris saying such a grandiose thing in a monotone voice as some dry humor, or them being exasperated with the player for making them say such a lame/embarrassing thing. It's fun to speculate whether Ralsei giving a misleading impression about how passionately Kris said it is a hint that he's trying to accomodate the player's choices, which we get more hints of later, or whether he's just not the best at reading social cues (focusing on the specific words instead of the manner in which they were said), which we also have indications of. For why Kris slashes the tires - wanting Susie to sleep over is the immediately obvious answer, but it also seems relevant that they open the outside door before creating the fountain. It seems possible they might be trying to lure police (Undyne specifically?) into the Dark World. EDIT: I forgot to mention that Kris opening the door also acts as a staged break-in by "the Knight".

In the scene with Toriel and Alphys I think Toriel is asking that because we are controlling Kris and like Noelle she can tell they are not there usual self Also something else I've never seen brought up is that apparently Kris looks ill which Toriel and I think one or more other characters mention in home town but which could also be why Toriel is asking this although I don't know why kris is sick

I think Kris may be saying perish enthusiastically because they want to oppose Queen and that could tie into the idea that Queen represents not just Noelle's mother but also Kris and Susie's mums as well. If it is because they want to die then some other evidence for that is that when Spamton proposes Kris give up their soul so that they can 'look into heaven', Kris just kneels down and never actually fights against it but I have always eather took that as they were just knocked down or that they wanted to help spamton by joining him via their soul which may also allow them to excape the player.

I haven’t seen anyone else really go in-depth regarding Kris’ personality, despite there being so many interesting things to talk about regarding their actual thoughts and feelings apart for those of the player. Great vid, the audio was fine btw!

Maybe Kris just feels indifferent to Ralsei because he looks like Asriel. It would be really weird to meet someone who almost looks like your sibling or close friend but isn't them.

hey there! great video! good job! cool that you found a deltarune topic to talk about, that's not already been talked about to death haha also i like that u didn't delve into crazy theory too much, like alot of these videos tend to do. this gave it a more scientific feel and kept it genuinely interesting to me :) good jokes as well, hell yeah! (inhuman noise makes me laugh everytime!!) just keep the timing snappy, would be my advice. quick deliveries work best in most cases and keep the listener on their toes imo other than that, the audio is definitely a step up from last video so thats awesome, great job! keep using the equipment you have and try to get the best out of it before buying a new fancy mic or something, i think you will learn a lot more this way :) anyways i hope that helps and i didn't overstay my welcome toodles!

TW slight body horror It's a bit unrelated, but when I first played, a chill ran down my spine as I kept dying on the spinning cups that take you up from the basement, over and over. And what eventually conjured up in my mind was an image of Susie and Ralsei getting off the ride, finally, taking a few steps into the dark corridor, then looking back only to see Kris' broken and lifeless body caught in one of the cups, limbs disfigured, skin battered and torn, their head turned at an unnatural angle after countless metal beams slamming into the human's fragile form at full speed.
