Gardner Minshew is a Raider. I wanted to break down three of his throws from this past season with the Indianapolis Colts to see beyond the mullet and sick 'stache to look at Gardner Minshew the quarterback.

If he was left handed I would say him and the Snake might have something in common. The snake was slippery and used his legs a lot like Minshew. They have sort of the same body type too. Is it possible? Could it be? Time will tell but the similarities are canny. Except the Snake was 3” taller but they weigh the same and sort of has that play to win at all costs mentality..

The 2020 Jags team with Minshew was horrible on defense. Gave up 32 points a game on average. Chiefs lost just about every game this past year when the other team scored more than 20. Lotta analysts look at Steichen as 1 of the new offensive masterminds. He chose Minshew to go to the Colts. Steichen knows what's up.

Glad to see someone dig into Minshew a little more than practically everyone else. Eagles vs Dallas 12/25/2022. Eagles lose a close 1 AT Dallas. Minshew drops 355 on Cowboys. Most passing yards at Cowboys stadium since 2017. He had not played since the last game of the season in 2021 and he only played in 2 games in 2021. Anyway he balled out with a great group of receivers but little to no real game experience playing with AJ Brown, very little with D Smith & Goedert. There were 2 INT's but both were more on the wr than the qb. Was excellent vs Dallas blitz. 60% completion percentage but when he knew he was gonna be sacked he threw it away so it counted against his comp percentage, Took zero sacks in the game. People still crapped on him. I thought he played a fantastic game against a very tough D. Unfortunately Eagles could not stop Dak. Minshew does a lot of little things that go unnoticed. When he takes sacks he doesn't lose a lot of yards - yards per sack amongst best in the league, really good hard count and he seems to draw the D offsides at least once a game for free plays and defensive penalties. Good use of pump fakes, etc... He is 6"1" but he has a lot of bend in his knees when he drops back so he appears shorter than he is plus he's low cut. His arm strength to DRIVE the ball with really good velocity 30-40 yards into tight windows is his achilles heel. He throws the deep ball well. Tied for 3rd in completed passes over 40 yards. Tied for 3rd in passes completed over 50 yards. And he played less than the qb's ahead of him. Colts WR group (including TE) is bottom 5 in the NFL. Pittman had his best year in his 4 year career. Downs broke the Colts rookie record for most receptions. Pierce by all metrics has a hard time getting open and low YAC. No TE stands out and they used 4 of them this year. All 4 were in top 10 NFL yards per reception. Plus his teammates love him everywhere he goes and he knows how to lead. There's a lot more to MInshew than most people realize. Most people just have the herd mentality. It's just the way it is sometimes. OK I'm done with my rant.

The guy reminds me of The Snake, and there's no true argument that suggests he can't be that good. People laugh at the name, the mustache and his height, but it's like what else do you got against him? He balls out on bad teams, Balled out on the one good team. The thing is, there's been a you, highly drafted QB on every team he's been on and his most extensive playing time he was a rookie. This is without a doubt a steal and at a bargain for the Raiders.

Let's hope the Offensive coordinator plays to his strengths. He certainly didn't do that with Fields in Chicago. Chicago should have been an RPO offense and then add a little over time. Anthony Richardson will be running an RPO offense in Indy. They are not gonna make him a pure drop back passer.

Aidan gets sacked on all but one of these plays. This will be Gardners last stop. No more bouncing around. He might be the perfect fit for the Raiders for all the silly reasons people count him out. That makes him a misfit, a maverick, the definition of a Raider. If you consider his age (27) he's the best QB free agent. I didn't think he'd be available but Raiders couldn't of done better here. I wanted Minshew after Carr was gone, was super disappointed by the Jimmy G signing instead he went to the Colts. With the weapons the Raiders have on offense, all he has to do is extend plays and make throws.
