The part about being late is sooo true! When it's something very important, I'm always cutting it close to being late, but somehow I'm on time. When it's something casual with friends or family, you bet that I'm gonna get there 20 minutes or more later than agreed time. My brother is even worse. He was casually telling me that he was 1hr late to work and when he got there, his bosses didn't give a fuck about it. Lmao

I'm from Spain and the "macho" thing is kinda true here too, the masculine toxicity and sensitivity is pretty noticible when compared to some asian cultures, like Korea. For example here you wouldn't see male friends be touchy or hug each other frequently like I see a lot with some korean man or kpop idols, which btw I really love to see it, just same sex friends being comfortable enough around each other and with their masculinity and sexual orientation to be able to share skinship between them. Also, the thing about "pink is for girls" thing is something that have always infuriated me (even when I was a little girl). I think progressively we are knocking down those gender stereotypes that the patriarchy imposes on us, but yeah, I'm so glad and happy to see that in south korea men wear all colorus without attaching one of them just to a single gender!!

yeah in Portugal it's the same! Although now this gneration is more touchy between same and diferent gender and is very open about color choices! No one will judge a man here for wearing pink (maybe elderly but very rare). My brother is very touchy with his friends and I heard comments flying that he was gay only because he felt confortable enough to hug them... it doesn't make sense

Patriarchy is different in every country to accommodate to men's necessities.

The fact that they can be touchy just means men don’t have to be as “macho” as men in for example Latin America, why is this beneficial to them? Because they don’t get punished like in Latin America for doing that. Another thing that distinguishes Korean patriarchy is the light sentences they receive for crimes like violence against women. Men’s necessities refers to what is perceived to be freedom for men in each country. Korean men percibe jail as the worst thing so jail sentences are lighter, and they don’t perceive mandatory military service to be as bad so it is legal to be drafted. In contrast for example mexican men perceive military service as the worst thing so it is not mandatory, and in contrast jail sentences are not perceived as bad so they tend to be extremely long even for crimes such as weed possession.

Now in Brazil being a "macho" it's not a good thing anymore, some places still have this view of masculinity because it was part of the culture for a long time. But definitely it's not that acceptable anymore in the big cities and internet. Because now this represent misogyny, homophobia, close-mind, narcissism, old fashioned thinking... It would be interesting to introduce them, like many said to other Spanish speakers, AND culture; for example: MUSIC --- Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, Vallenaro etc (original styles first and then the newer styles) see how they react & if they have rhythm 😉. One thing that I didn't see was how Latin Americans do introductions, with hugs and kisses and how, they as Koreans, feel about it. We are very open and touchy and use slang for every thing and compare people to animals, that guy is a tiger (tigueré) ect.... does that even translate? 🤔 what do they think? Love this segment
