Just thinking here. Have you ever considered having a Patreon member or a Subscriber to “guest camp” with you or Dave when you’re alone for a few days ?? Give them a chance to try “van life” for a couple days. Now that said you would need to do a background check before committing, also need to do interviews. Yeah I know even up here in Canada 🇨🇦, we have our fair share of the wild and crazy. Just a thought

My husband passed away almost 2 yrs ago. We used to love camping but when he got sick we sold our big travel trailer. Last spring I missed camping so much I bought myself a small B+ similar to Desert Snow and started camping with my dogs. It does get lonely for sure but it beats sitting at home alone.

I did the same in 2018 after my husband's death. I sold the fifth wheel & pickup that we full timed in. I bought a used class C and ventured for 3 years alone. I grieved, got to know my strengths, communed with nature and made life long friends. Not to mention teaching myself to tow a car behind my 27' rig on the highway thru Phoenix at rush hour 😊

A little trick, fellow coffeeholic, those coffee grounds are very useful. After you've been cutting onions, garlic, and or hot pepper, take a pinch of used coffee grounds and a drop of liquid soap to wash your hands. This also works if you've been cleaning some stinky stuff that's a bit oily (like fish). Seriously, it absorbs the volatiles off your skin, and even makes it so you can put your hands near your eyes or other sensitive anatomy (men, take note!). Trust me. Try it. Uhmmm, rinse someplace other than your gray tank or house plumbing. Coffee grounds are still coffee grounds, you know. (Plants love coffee grounds...) Dang that lamb stew sounded goooooood.

Enjoyed your stay at this location. I’m a Single older woman. Never married, no children, travel in my class c w/ my cats. Live in Indiana & wanting to do a big trip out West. I cannot imagine company or a companion. I wish I had the help. But, it was not to be. I enjoy the peace & getting out of my home enjoying nature. I count it a Blessing to be able to do that. My cats hate it. But, like our nature campsites.

I am a solo camper with a travel trailer. Leveling can be a little complicated. I have a fold up level that is magnetized and I can stick it on either the front or back frame and level from side to side. Then the front to back compensation is with the tongue jack followed by stabilizers. What you are saying is interesting because I have thought about a van. Never thinking about all the leveling that has to be done side-to-side and front to back with blocks. I have seen the type blocks that are curved and allow gradual changes with the one unit. It may work for you.

As you said, when you set up and tear down solo, it is a lot of work. Most of the people I camp with are couples, they don't understand why I don't have the magnitude of decorations, out door "stuff" they do, and when I do I start packing up the day before departure day. It is lonely, my husband passed 4.5 years ago, and the void has not diminished in that time. I still live 3/4 of the time in my 5th wheel, but never a day goes by that I don't wish he was still around
