Indeed. All five were expanded in DMC2, DMC3, and DMC4, though was unfortunately absent in DMC5. Do hope these elements return when the first three games get remade and fix their issues many pointed out(the underwater levels, lack of replaying previous missions as well as improved voice acting in DMC1, the entirety of DMC2, and have DMC3 faithful to the OG while also having the last secret mission in M17 be less frustrating than it was before, as well as having DLC adapting the DMC3 manga and delving into Arkham and Lady's origins).

I beliveve in the DMC lore iits explained that Tony was Dante's false name when he was younger and traveling. I think the anime even had an episode with someone from his past recognising him and calling by that name. Nice nod to that first project

This was the only Devil May Cry game I beat so far. It was a struggle, since I'm not very good at hack & slash games such as these, but it felt great once I did beat it.

@@Natquerx Yes, Devil Mat Cry 3 is fun, but really fucking hard. I have yet to beat it. Devil May Cry 2 may have better combat, but I think the game is a bit too easy even on Normal. Since one time the game crashed on the PS3 & it gave me a black screen, but the game was still playing so I somehow got a S rank in combat, even though I just mindlessly pressed the square button. I also played DMC 4, but I also haven't beaten that game. Basically I got every DMC game, aside from the reboot & the 5th game, since I can't play DMC 5 due to technical limitations. I live in a small country called Latvia & I really can't afford new things, which includes games. The only new thing I own is the Nintendo Switch, but that's about it.

I’m a fan of both RE and DMC. Played the crap out of both RE4 and DMC1. After playing RE4 remake, I decided to replay the original for nostalgia purposes. I can pieces of DMC1 still present in the original RE4. And honestly, I love it.

The reason Tony Redgrave's name is on the guns is because Dante in universe Dante went under the pseudonym Tony Redgrave

I would love to see a DMC1 remake made in RE engine. Maybe they can add in some extra devil arms/guns, add in some new cutscenes, and change some of the existing scenes/dialogue (I would love to see more references with Vergil and expand on Mundus' villainy and psychopathic nature) and even add in other new content that is not in the original game (possibly new enemies and maybe even bosses/mini-bosses). Of course, keeping the styles and movesets from DMC3, 4, and 5. Though I wonder if they would stick with the gothic/creepy atmosphere of the original game too, I wonder? I hope they would.

Dang you did bring up a good point. RE has gotten plenty of remakes but I would love a remake of both DMC 1 and 2 with a bigger focus on the gothic look for sure. You know anyone at Capcom?

I feel the level building in DMC 4 and 5 failed in making the atmosphere grim and gothic like 1,2 and 3 did

That's an interesting take. I am about to go through DMC2 after who knows how long since my last playthrough. But I did feel like after 1 we slowly start to see the gothic/resident evil influence really drop off.

DMC has always beema great series and I'd go as far as to day DMC 5 is one of if not the best Devil May Cry game but also the best hack n slash game ever made. My all time favorite is Darksiders 2 and that series doesn't get enougj credit to be fair.
