​@@pizzahighfive2612 Wanna preference this as "from what i remember." We were facing the ring and stage, 2 balconies up, about 3-4 rows back. Therefore, it was hard to see. Didn't get a chance to see the original ECW, but the guy I went with was a ring announcer at a couple of their shows right before the end. (You can see him on my channel doing my wedding announcement last year as I cut a Ric Flair Promo) One thing he explained to me before we went, was that the card wasn't released prior to the show, because thats how "ECW did it." The atmosphere of the show was completely different, as it wasn't like other shows I had been too, which was probably around 20-30 at that time. In fact, this was the first one where I had to pay for tickets for as my mom was in the radio business so comps were frequent in our house lol. It was hard to see at times. The chants were insane throughout the entire show. I think at one point it was either F* Mike Awe-some clap clap clapclapclap or Kill Yourself lol. It really sucked Rob couldn't work, but i remember seeing the stuff he did with Rhyno on the show and cringing he was gonna mess his leg up more. I haven't even watched the entire show in its entirety again on the network tbh. I wound up working at the venue in 2016 in a sales position, and it sucked. lol

It was so cool to be an adult ECW fan! I went to a few shows in Queens as well as One night stand 2005, Fans in the 1st 15 rows i think it was got to bring commemorative chairs home ( I know cuz I was in 10th row) ECW was truly a movement that will never be duplicated. It was the coolest shit to see after the show all the fans heading to the train/subway walking down the street with their chairs. Had to be there, it was EPIC! I'm 49yrs old and still have the chairs we sat in at One Night Stand today in perfect condition, thanx for the video im about to watch it now after seeing this

I was born in 93, so after seeing ECW on TNN as a kid in the early 2000s I was a fan. Even had ECW Hardcore Revolution on N64. When the original ECW one night stand happened , it felt organic. That's why it was so successful. The WWE ECW was decent but it felt like a marketing move.

Have all the chrosaders get out of the ring then the crowd is lit. Then you have all the ECW guys in the ring together.

The reason why Shane Douglas and Raven weren't there was because Shane hosted a separate ECW reunion two days prior: Hardcore Homecoming from the ECW Arena. It was also the reason why Terry Funk couldn't work this show but worked the following year, because he committed to doing Shane's show, and his body was so broken down that he couldn't work two shows in the same week. I started watching ECW somewhere between 1994-95. And you rarely knew when it was going to play because it aired very late at night on the MSG network in New York City. Between my two friends and I, we knew who watched it the next day because of the early morning grogginess, lack of sleep on the way to school, but the matches were legendary. Mid-card contenders being treated as superstars. We were only exposed to WWF(WWE) & WCW, and then this new player came into town. To say we were hooked was an understatement.

Good video. I appreciate the sentiments. As someone who followed since "the night the line was crossed", I still list Barely Legal as the more special show...this one was more bittersweet than anything, but still special... for me personally, I had already lost a lot of interest in wrestling by this point. Vince consolidating all three promotions was not my cup of tea to say the least. But still a great show, that I probably appreciate more now than when it aired, even though so bittersweet still. Barely Legal on the other hand, on top of having the better card in my opinion, simultaneously felt like the start of something special, but also the feeling of "finally this little underground wrestling organization I've been following getting the recognition it deserves." Shame it didn't last as long as I hoped.
