I'm so glad I found your comment! I've been coming off of 9 years of suboxone use and the worst thing for me is the anxiety. I cannot concentrate, I'm getting confused easily, my muscles always hurt, I can't sleep...it's so hard. Please let me know how you did it and how you are feeling now...any advice would be greatly appreciated! What I worry about the most is how long these symptoms will last given that I was on it so long.

I'm on day 3 w/ zero subs & I'm not sure why I don't feel worse. I was taking 16mg, then 8mg, then 4 - 2 every 24hrs. I thought I'd be having the cold sweats & everything that goes along with opiate withdrawal. It's just restlessness & inability to sleep, diarrhea, runny nose & generally feeling weak. I typically don't drink alcohol at all (but I chugged 2 beers to help me fall asleep). In the morning I take vitamins & drink tons of water. I really hope it doesn't get much worse than this. I really can't stand being a slave to medications! Best wishes to everyone...

How long did the 'Taper' take? Detox would obv' be better just to feel safer, but Key-Worker's aren't very helpful + live in the 1 of the worst town's in UK for Heroin Addiciton. Crap funding & if still on Class A's/Injecting etc then they get priority tbf. Gonna have to get off this NOW & luckily on 'Weekly Pick-Up' so could do it myself though this stuff's so addictive + throwing away Subbies is easier said than done. Big Chap Without any question, diet and exercise. Eat good, whole foods. Veggies and fruits are a must. Suboxone gave me SOOO much energy that I forgot where true energy comes from. Going from having that much energy to having zero is very frustrating. If you watch my videos you will see that I always list energy and motivation as the longest lasting isssues. I made it very hard on myself by not tapering and so my symptoms were always going to be drawn out. Going back in time now I would have put even more of an emphasis on eating properly and exercising. You will always feel better after a quality meal and or exercise. It will always be tough to get started each time, but the more you do little by little, the easier it will get. Please also take a good multi vitamin, 2000 mg vit C, and magnesium citrate daily. Feel free to check in as often as you would like and let us know how you are doing. You've got this friend!

I was on Suboxone for 5+ years after 10 years on heroin. I tapered from 8 mg a day to 1 mg over two months, then stopped. I am on day 20 of my withdrawal. I still have hot/cold flashes, chills, and lack of energy but I am feeling a little better every day. I did use Xanax (quarter- half bar a day) for the first week, then a small amount of kratom on my second week, but fear of becoming physically dependant on these things helped me only take the very minimum to keep me somewhat comfortable. I am feeling really positive about starting to feel better, and showers are the best. It's snowing where I'm at, so I've started going to tan/ red light therapy the last few days which does help a lot. I appreciate hearing others experiences, and am happy to share my own.

I got no sleep at all for the first 7days ☹ crying and burst of anger, real bad restlessness, leg cramps extremely restless legs couldn't keep them still, yawning, sneezing, freezing 1minute sweating the nexted and zero zero energy but so glad I stuck at it 💖

thankyou for making this... day 5 coming off suboxone & these videos give me hope. i live in Vegas too & it's hard to find someone who HASN'T been on methadone/suboxone out here... the clinics are FILLED. i attempted to start going to a new clinic a couple months ago, & ended up bailing after i got my first script bc after nearly 11 years (i turn 29 tomorrow, on day 6, yayyy lol :/) i just can't do it anymore. i want to live a real life. i have an extremely fast metabolism so the suboxone never lasted a full 24hrs for me, so most days i'd wake up feeling like i was withdrawing anyways... couldn't really function til i took it each morning. i accepted that life for 11 years. was on methadone from the age of 18 til i decided THAT was way too strong for me & was making me a zombie, so finally after 7 years straight attending the methadone clinic, i made the choice to get on suboxone as a sort of in-between to getting off the crap completely. i had short-lived success w it as a teen so i kinda already knew what it was all about. 2 years later & here we are, i am ready to be DONE. no more clinics. no more doctors. i'm already on psych meds that are pretty strong, including gabapentin which i won't lie, has helped IMMENSELY during this withdrawal period so far. like jesus christ it makes such a difference. now i have been prescribed gabapentin for a year now, so i'm just saying this is something that has helped me. i wouldn't recommend it if you're just going to buy a small amount off the streets as gabapentin can just become another addiction, & when you run out you risk withdrawal from that, too. for me it's like this. i'm on several psych meds, & then i've had this methadone/suboxone monkey on my back for 11 years... it's time to pick a struggle LOL. & i choose to get off this suboxone so i can actually, genuinely, start focusing on my mental health.

First time watching this dude, but so far everything he says is true. Always feeling like you need to stretch, hot baths and showers, forcing yourself to eat healthy food or food at all. Motivation to cook or microwave, or toaster oven, or even eat leftovers seems like climbing Mt. Everest. If you can force the energy and have a good smoothie maker(Ninja) make smoothies. I use frozen fruits for the most part. I add raw nuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, ginger, and similar items with healthier properties. I have been fighting opiates since I was about 38. I had a sailing injury in my late 20's, and for years tried everything before my first hydro. Now 53, I take 2mg sub per day. I have tried to come off, but the addict in me is over sensitive to the withdraw issues even with clonidine bp medicine. I hope I will no longer need the 2mg, but until then I have resumed my life back to my normal activities. Exercise does wonders.

On about 2 mgs now and gonna keep tapering down and then check into a detox and 28 day rehab center. I know I won’t go back to dope but the main reason is to spend the detox and 28 days inside where I don’t have to worry about life and work and being around people who don’t understand what I’m going through. I’ve been on suboxone for 11 years and I’ve feared this moment coming up for so long now but I gotta get off this shit. At first it was a great thing to substitute dope and take needles and dealers and being in Baltimore out of my life and get shit back in order but recently I’ve been feeling like an absolute zombie. I have no personality and don’t ever feel like talking which is the total opposite of how I was before dope and suboxone. A lot of doctors don’t know what they are talking about. When I first got on subs my doc said there is no withdrawal and no addictive and it’s only mental. Every time I tried to get off it they said don’t do it you will relapse and I was dumb enough to actually take their advice but apart of me didn’t want to come off subs until recently. I love hearing all these people getting clean after being on subs for a LONG time like me. Gives me hope and motivation to do the same. It will def be a struggle but I’d rather get it over with than live day by day depressed on suboxone walking around like a zombie and being antisocial.

UberGirlPaula, Monterey I was very skinny and unhealthy looking when I started my detox. Once you stop completely, start drinking "power" shakes every day as often as you can. Solid food is tough to do during the 1st 2 weeks. Once off the opiods our intestines will oncr again be able to digest key nutrients that they were NOT able to digest while on them. Your weight and health will come back IF you eat properly and get as much exercise as you can. If you watch my other videos you can track my progression find out all the details of my detox. ive been off suboxone for 1.5 years. the physical withdrawals lasted 3 weeks. i took clonodine, and hydroxozine which helped me sleep a little bit. my legs burned a lot and there was no getting around that. also the other normal shit. achy body, no energy, diarahea, etc. but tbh that was easy compared to the post acute withdrawals. i was depressed, anxious, and angry for 6 months. i would lose my shit over the smallest problems that didn't even matter. i was also emotional. i would tear up over a song or a commercial or a tv show. i felt like a girl on her period except it lasted for months. im never going back to opiates or suboxone. hardest thing i ever done was get off suboxone. i also tapered down to .25mgs per day. i tried jumping off at 1 mg per day but i only lasted a week. it was too hard. so i took .25 mgs per day for a month then jumped. i can't imagine how some ppl feel jumping off at a higher dose.

Also something a buddy told me and it worked great is taking a hot bath but not to hot and pouring Epsom salt In the tub for buoyancy. When your legs are hurting really bad and have restless legs. getting in the tub with epsom salt will make your body almost weightless so it'll take a lot of the pressure off of your legs. Just have to put enough and just relax in the tub. That plus Imodium helps a lot. A lot of people try to substitute and use kratom but in my case that would just be switching one for the other. Of course smoking helps a lot too but that's if you like to smoke.

keyboard warrior I agree with everything you wrote. I now use Kratom and it works well for me. However I do not recommend it to anyone. A person needs to do their own research while weighing the good and bad. I do think the "one for another" statement is a bit generized but is, at it's core a realistic truth. Some people will find that they need something. For those folks, I believe Kratom is at minimum, worth looking into.

@@goodbyesuboxone4263 I've never tried kratom but I've heard it does wonders. I just tried looking it up and seen so many withdrawal videos. Made me not want to switch. In time I'm sure I'll slay this curse. I'm not afraid of the withdrawals as much as I'm afraid to go to work on them. Working on them just seems impossible for me. Guess best thing to do is taper down and when I get a vacation taper off. My brother got off cold turkey on a quarter strip a day. He keeps telling me it was one of the worse things he had to go through. Always scares me a bit. He also use to do heroin and fentanyl but even those withdrawals weren't as bad as Suboxone. Suboxones withdrawals last so much longer. I thought of switching to oxy and just getting off of that after a month because the withdrawals aren't as bad but I'd need a good amount to do that. For everyone wondering, you feel better/more positive, after the second week, or few would quit as easily as they do. Do not measure your mood/feelings with how you felt while on Suboxone. Face it, and understand that this powerful beta blocker made it impossible for me to feel the effects of a powerful psychedelic I took years ago. All of my friends who are very holistic healthy and successful, were very upset during our night out and told me that I need to get off of that drug immediately if it is blocking one of the most powerful psychedelics and kills all connection to nature and being human.

I know alot of people use and abuse these two drugs but for me the problem was heroin and the other drug that I've have done before in my life but just didn't like the high too much was crystal meth. Alright so here's my story I was addicted to heroin and honestly that I would always be..... but it got to the point to where I was going to be homeless or going to get clean. Because that's what you should want to get 100% sober not just to get off one illegal addiction to another legal drug like methadone or suboxone. Now your a legal addicted? Soo with that being said I could never cold turkey off of heroin so I started going to a methadone clinic and I did that for a week and was only trying to take it for a week because I didn't want to get too hooked onto it. I do my week planned treatment and I tried going cold turkey off the methadone but it was just as bad as a heroin withdrawal so that day my car breaks down I cant make it to the clinic on time so I'm like fuck so do I go back to heroin or not? My dumbass actually thought that I could take a couple of puffs of heroin and that if I only smoked it for 2 days I wouldn't have withdraws and thought I cold turkey from those 2 days of using but no I got back on it every day smoking a gram a day back to the bullshit.... then the day came where I lost everything my job my home or if I didn't get off of it that same day I would be homeless.. I almost lost my family of 3 girls under the age of 4 years old and my 7 year old son. So then I found a subutex clinic, did a little research subutex and found out it wasnt as bad as methdone so I was cool ima make that old plan from taking my methdone and apply it to the subutex treatment but I was only going take subtext for 2 days and cold Turkey from there and that plan was on track I stayed for 2 days at the clinic and i was like cool I'm done. I told my self I need to leave this place because really it reminded me of jail so much of jail I was fuck this I'll ride this out at home. I'll be cool... so I lyft it home and honestly I felt like I didnt need to use anything to deal with the withdrawal symptoms but my fiend ass remembered I had hid a 20 sac of heroin and when straight to smoke it I hit it like 5 times and nothing no high... it was the subutex I had taken it 2 hours before getting home and it wasnt letting get me high. I was like maybe I am done with it? I threw everything away and I thought about what I was feeling. So for me I was still going through withdrawals those 5 hits did nothing and with subutex you can feel pretty normal if you lay down all day covered in your sheets it really is something you can deal with but I was scared when the subutex wore off if I would feel like fuck it let's get high now the subutex is done! I was like fuck I cant do that again I need to find something to take the edge off..... I tried cannabis and nothing... next thing I tried kratom took 8 pills and waited hours so as time goes by you start to worse and worse I was like fuck ima go back to heroin........ then I dont know what made me think of this but when I was 21 I use to hang out with so called functioning meth addicts... I woke up one day sick as a dog and I had alot of shit to do so I was like I wonder if I hit crystal meth if it'd make me feel better so I was like fuck it I know I dont like uppers so I wont get hooked to this and I knew too many people who lost they're life to meth addiction and I just wouldn't let it happe so I was like I'll hit it only twice and stop and i did i hit it once i felt normal i was like whoa... I hit it twice and I felt happy again. I said ok I'm done and I never touched it again till fast forward to me thinking about how I felt and remembered you've made yourself get over a flu with crystal meth and really if you get passed those 3 days of hell then you should be able to ride it. But yeah I knew i had a childhood friend who had his own place and he smoked crystal and I was like that's what ima do to get through this 3rd day, I'll smoke crystal meth again. I know this sounds extremely bad and I know how bad meth can be for me but I honestly felt like I was itching to use heroin so I was like fuck it let's do it. I take one hit from the pipe and I felt normal! No withdrawals, no sick felling or aches, no depressed fell. Just a 100% normal like when I wasnt on heroin I was like I found the magic recipe! So for the next 2 days I smoked meth twice a day for two days and that would be it.... yes I stayed up all night and day but in those clinics I never sleep anyways so I was like I'll be fine. So yeah i went through it 2 days of meth smoking and that's it. You let the meth wareoff, you'll finally be sleeping and when you wake up you feel so much better. So I know everyone is not like me that cant just stop smoking meth after two days of using it but you have to do it and it's really not that hard minor meth withdrawals are nothing or you can literally feel nothing after. So with that being said you'll still feel the withdrawals from heroin/subutex somewhat but nothing as bad as not being on meth. You feel it but it goes away extremely quick and it's like a minor discomfort that so easy to deal with. Nothing like what you feel when you're on heroin withdrawals. I know theres alot of people that use both so this might work for you. But this was the most effective, least painful way to detox off of heroin/subutex. If you think about it makes sense, you need something to get your brain balance to were getting high on something that you quit that's going to lower your dopamine levels so low that it's really why you relapse in the first place because you feel like shit and you know that this will last atleast a week so yeah I cheated I raised my dopamine levels with meth and stopped immediately so I didnt build a dependance to higit's high. You really cant take anything for more than 2 day's, that's the magic formula. It worked for me I know itll work for alot otheres.... I live in las vegas and heroine is taking over our streets from the rich to the poor..... alot of people are stuck on it I almost was my self but as crazy as what I just said sounds that's what I feel like people who are addicted should do but you really have to want to quit for this to work. Dont knock it till you try it, it saved my life maybe itll save yours.

My brother drinks 2 2 litre's of mountain dew and packs of reeces cups every night and doesn't put on weight, subs do not let you have a normal appetite, you crave sweets. You don't eat real food, you just want a bunch of sugar and carbs late at night. Shit's crazzzzy.

Will be binging ur videos! Lol! Honor society, graduate degree making 6 figure salary, having to owe street ppl money for fronts, no one knew. After losing my 2nd job to addiction Sept 2018, and every dime going to pills, I decided to take this time to get off. 10 years of norco but 8 months of suboxone now this year. I actually bragged about getting treatment and it was liberating to finally get it out. I knew last month that it might be my last visit for idk how long bc of costs. So my last 5 or so strips I cut them into tiny squares! Like 1/16 from 3 a day! My last piece was 2 days ago and I woke up just now, with anxiety, legs, hot and cold. I’m already thinking about old ways after not having a single thought about pills since January. I hate this much. Why can’t this taste leave my mouth, Thoughts leave my head, Fucking addiction and withdrawals leave my soul! How does this 1 little shit completely twist every wire in my brain?!!!

Find something to do. I know it's hard to get motivated. But, any kind of activity is much better than just sitting, or laying around. Idle time is a terrible thing. Your mind will play tricks on you. It takes patience, and determination. There's no easy way to beat it. Positive thoughts, and positive activities go a long ways. Sitting around feeling sorry for yourself DOES NOT HELP. I'm on day 3 of Sub withdrawal. I've been through opiate withdrawal before too, several times. I'm speaking from experience. I've already made up my mind... This is the LAST time that I will EVER put myself through this. I'm done, with all of it!!! Period. Nobody cares about your excuses, if you decide to relapse. They just say, "I guess you didn't want it bad enough". And they're right!!!! You have to WANT to quit, more than any other thing in the world. Accept the challenge of it, and then kick it's ass!!!

Carissa Brown I have heard from people on both sides of this. Those who felt there was no way they could work/function while in withdrawal, and those who worked through the worst of it. I for one did not have the energy to do much of anything for a few weeks. My suggestion would be to take your time and plan ahead as best you can. Do whatever you can to give yourself some time off from work and to get some help with your kids. I realize this is easier said than done. But having some "free time" to recover can remove so much of the anxiety you might otherwise feel. I hope that helps friend. Stay strong and focus on the prize ahead.

Thank you for posting this, I have been weening on oxycodone. Im not as strong as you man I can admit it. Im attempting this case study I found about megadosing Vitamin C to relieve 70%-80% of symptoms. The results seem factual, but like you were, I am currently in poor health just from running and gunning. My question is have you heard of this detox? Secondly any further advice is appreciated. I feel to weak and un-healthy but currently using xanax for sleep, and trying to re-establish a regular diet. Plus there are so many mixed reviews on weening vs. cold turkey, some say the withdrawal is the same, anyhow what are your thoughts. I live in Vegas, and today there is no sun, well @ least not near South Point. I found your channel genuine and informative, Thank you again. Oh last thing, what about using suboxone like 1/4 8 mg strip for only 2-3 days, I know when I am clean or oxy free for like 48 hrs I believe, then you can eat a partial sub, relieving all symptoms and allowing sleep on night 3, but then after the night sleep doing nothing at all. This method worked for me a few months back, and I am hoping will hold true again. All any input is appreciated, Have a good one.

No joke I quit one time for like 3 weeks and I took probably 5 or 6 hot showers a day. If I could live in a hot tub for the duration of my withdrawals I think I could make it. So those of you out there listening if you have access to a hot tub use it. I think it all has to do with helping lower your blood pressure which helps your legs and body not take as bad. Not only that but lowering your blood pressure allows you to sleep better and relax so you don't feel the anxiety from the withdrawals

Matt Barrett Don't be nervous, or scared, bro. Accept the challenge, and then kick it's ass!!!! Period. Your "will" is stronger than ANYTHING ELSE. Remember that. I'm on day 3 of Sub withdrawals, so I'm not preaching at you. I'm speaking from experience. I've already made up my mind that I'm quitting. Your willpower will get you through the first week of the tough withdrawals. The hard part comes 2-3 months later. You will feel cheated. You'll feel like you should be "normal" by now. This is a very long battle, but you can't lose focus. A year from now, I'll be a much better human being. So, I'm willing to suffer for a whole year, if that's what it takes. It's worth the sacrifice, for me. You gotta be able to say that with confidence, and MEAN IT. I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!!!!

Kratom for the 1st month will make you feel perfectly normal thru the worst of this process. I still had suboxone left when I came off 8mg a day. I was having horrible anxiety and panic attacks which I never had before. Even though the doctors will say it doesnt cause anxiety it does. Just google it which I did and found many other accounts of people who had the same problem. I would have a panic attack going thru a car wash. It got bad. So when I quit I never looked back because after 3 days the anxiety and panic attacks were gone. I know this sounds cliche but exorcise even if it is just a few sets of push ups will make a world of difference. I was on Subs for a few years, and have been off for over a year now. One thing I noticed and maybe it was just me, was that for a few month after coming off subs i would have weird twitches in my fingers and other limbs. Anyways I wish you all luck and just remember "It cant rain all the time"
