I was on 6-8mg of Suboxone a day for 8 years.

Maybe wait until your further along in your recovery to make videos. It's hard sometimes to stay interested in what your saying because of your withdrawl and how it affects ones ability to stay one one thought or another. When you start to share something with us, and we're waiting for your observation because we are in the same boat as you.....but you then jump to another thought without finishing the last 4 thoughts etc........it's hard on the viewer. I'm not being rude but just honest.

Cynthia Morgan Appreciate your thoughts but Im sure that 99% of my viewers are here to see real life as it unfolds. The point of my channel wasnt to give oscar winning performances. It is meant to show what I went through as I went though it. Plain and simple. You are the 1st person out of over 1000 to leave any such comment. So while I do appreciate your feedback, I do think you may be mistaken about the intention of this channel.

@@patfenis7325 it 's different for everyone, you need to be in significant withdrawal to make the switch without causing precipiated wds. I am on 16 mgs of methadone...i wanted to stabilize here and then continue dropping 1 mg a week from here on down. I wanted to switch to subs, but no one at my clinic has ever inducted someone...and the Dr. is literally never around anymore, so just another roadblock to stretch out my titration. My counselor and the professionals at my clinic have been completely useless in my experience. I am lucky in one respect, my husband is a Registered Nurse, and also in recovery for 25 years. He basically checks my vitals on hard days, like right after a drop, and makes sure I don't die of electrolyte imbalance since I have vomiting and diarreah constantly. I have a rapid metabolism for a female my age, so at the low dose I am on, I am in withdrawal almost 8 hours out of every 24 hour period. But it is definitely getting easier to deal with now. I am so tempted to just bounce out of the clinic and cold turkey the rest of the way off, but have been warned against it. How are you doing right now?? I never sleep at night...only a few hours right after I dose. I try to get important stuff done during the hours right after my dose, bc I know the rest of my day will be pretty f'up.

@@themapsarewrongandthetimel8722 I'm so sick I don't know what to do with myself. I was shooting so much fentynal just 3 days ago. I took my last shot and knew I had to wait to take some sub so I don't precipitate. So I took methadone like 35 hours ago when it was unbearable. Then the next time it was unbearable I figured I'd be good to take a sub. Boy was I wrong. It went down alot. At midnight I was fucked. I'm feeling better. As long as I can just be comfortable. I won't use. I won't go threw withdrawal much longer 😞. I don't even know what I just typed

I been on subs for 4 years now. While I usually only took 4 mg a day, I came to a point where I had to quit cold turkey, for my kids. They test for that these days. I'm on day 4. Didnt seem so bad at 1st, but I didn't sleep at all hardly. Cold chills are bad and the stomach has probably been the worst problem I've had so far up until today with the chills. Its definitely doable, I've done it before, just not after 4 years of taking them. My only issue is I cant just rest while withdraw. I have a lot going on and have to force myself to do so. Good luck on everyone's journey.

I relate a whole lot to you actually. Been on subs since I was 19 and I'm 23 now. I was always the same with not being able to go through the withdrawals & work and do daily life at the same time. Didn't have anybody to help me with that like this guy does. I still don't know if everybody gets the really bad nodding out shit like I did on the high doses (especiallyafter smoking weed on top), but long story short I was driving and nodded out for literally what seemed like a second or 2 and when I tried to catch myself I was already feet away from smashing someone in the other lane and i did. Got busted with a shit ton of weed plus no license or insurance so that got me probation which I was super lucky to get that slap on the wrist, but the probation officer I got was a real evil, piece of shit person and I'll just leave it at that. When it came down to the random drug screen months down the road I had already told him all about me and subs. And when I was screened and failed for that and weed I didn't have my prescription bottle on me because I never wanted to have drugs in the car with me after all that. And I always heard he was the worst one out there but this is when he really showed it, he started treating me like I was lying and that I was getting them illegally!! Saying he "knew I was probably lying" and about how people come in there to the test without their prescriptions all the time and "spit that same bullshit". APPARENTLY he doesn't give a shit what the excuse is, if you don't have the proof then and there you're gonna be signing your own warrant for arrest and he will NOT let you have a chance to show it to him another time, he won't even let you speak. Literally. I got 40 days jail time for that. 40. Almost got 3 months. That scarred me for life since then and was the worst experience of my life mostly because of the reason and being during the lowest of the lowest point of my life to top it off. I came to find out from a surprising amount of other people that he did the same things to other's and some had even worse stories about him. I just recently found out that he quit too. And not sure how true this is but apparently he's been spotted coming and going from drug houses. But, I definitely did come to blame subs for putting my life at that point and after that 40 days in hell I never went back to it. You slowly more and more come to realize how much better off you really are without that doing what it does to you, we're just way too blind to realize what it's really doing to yourself while on that. I barely even listened to music anymore while on subs, that was the craziest and best part was really starting to FEEL music again. Sorry for the long story. I hope you're doing great and better each day. Remember that life really can truly be the best high of all and don't let anything or anyone take that feeling from you doll.💙

I have had it easy as well bc i always had access to money so i never had to resort to H, i just always bought more pills…. But suboxone has saved my life… I remember watching this video still highly dependent on pain meds and im, so glad to ve watching this on subs now… proud of you.

Game Changer The clinic I go to makes you start on 8 mg 😔 I tried to quit and lasted 3 weeks (all 3 times) and I took the 8 mg but went right back down to 4mg the next day! They shouldn't start ppl on 8mg it is just a money making business only! I have went for 5 years and not once was I asked to go down! It takes alot of motivation to go down on your own cause they talk you into going up any time you have any problems! They also asked me many times to switch to methadone and I refused! It also takes alot of motivation because they charge you the same no matter what mg you are on! That is just subutex!

@@heatherbartholomew8403 The whole subutex game is a money grab. The program i was in NEVER encouraged you to step down, and would boost your amounts anytime you asked. They want you to be on it so they can get paid. I had to cut the chord. I am going cold turkey as I type this. day 3. I couldn't taper. I'm an addict. Addicts can't really control how much they take. Time to fight it. It's a matter of will power and gutting this out.

Sometimes all we need is a bit of inspiration. For 8 long years I lived in fear of ever trying to quit. My original plan was to be on them for 1 year max. But one year turns into two, and three, etc... It becomes a vicious cycle of fearing the withdrawal, which keeps you on them...But then the fact we stay on them longer only assures that the withdrawal WILL be worse, and lengthier. I believe that only the person taking the subs can decide when to stop. One must be ready and fully committed above all else. Thank you for stopping by and sharing. It means a lot to anyone else who stops by and to me of course. Please feel free to contact me anytime for support friend.

I've went through sub withdrawal before so I know I won't die, last time it felt like it took forever to be done but I had to withdrawal in jail so there was no taper it was cold turkey from 8mg this video is very inspiring I know ill be in bed the first couple days for sure, sub withdrawal is worse than any opiate withdrawal and thats just a fact because the buprenorphine binds so tightly to the receptors unlike other opiates. Just know you can get through this if you really want it, just like any other addiction once you have really had enough quitting is the easiest thing to do. Im 35 yrs old and I want to be happy again, subs mess up your serotonin and true happiness is hard to obtain while on Subs. Thanks for these videos man they truly help

It’s helped tremendously. But I need help now. I’m alone in this as my family doesn’t know. I need to start feeling again. I don’t want to be dependent anymore. I need help. I have been down to 8mg a week for about 5 days. I was planning to taper down to 4 mg in another week. It’s hard to get out of bed in the morning. You’re doing and looking great! 3 years clean in August for me! (I have taken Kratom here and there though, some say that’s bad. I don’t really as long as you don’t take crazy amounts and not daily. Definitely not an opiate or anything along the lines of subs though) Congrats! Best wishes!

Hey there Tyler. How many days in are you? Anxiety and insomnia were some of the longest lasting symptoms. It sounds like an impossible task, but if you are able, try to get out and take a walk. Even just be outside and sit if thats all you can do. I can remember having anxiety so bad that I couldnt sit still or do the same thing for more than a minute or two. This is all part of "it". It isn't fun, but it is temporary. The more you are able to wear yourself out physically during the day, the better off you will be. Avoid ANY stimulants such as caffiene. These will make the anxiety worse every time. Honestly I found the most peace during those really tough times either blasting my favorite music, laying in the sun, taking a shower, or watching positive recovery storied on YT. Keep checking in ok. This will get better.

Thanks you today is day 5. I abused sunk one in college to get my chemical engineering degree I I have developed an anger towards suboxone but I’m so up and down mentally. One moment I’m great the next I’m down. Sex is amazing again but hard to last in bed not trying to give too many details lol we have a 9 month old beauitful daughter and it’s freezing here right now so outside isn’t an option and I get stir crazy but I try to stay busy. I’m also an amateur body builder so my diet supplements and exercise are really great I even go to the sauna to sweat and then drink amino acids and electrolytes which accerlerated me through the physical symptoms. Now I’m just battling mental symptoms and my brain saying if you just take a piece of sub you’ll feel awesome.

tyler brown Make sure that you don't have Subs accessable to you. Its much easier for those waves of craving to pass when taking a pill couldnt be a simple process. For me, I had no $, no trasnportation, and so it was easier to let go. Keep in mind that insomnia worsens depression and axiety. There will be moments where you cab do nothing more than simply promiss yourself that things will get better. This process has really made me apprrciate how delicate our brains are. How much I took happiness and comfort for granted. We begin to understand that we have changed our brain chemistry quite litterally. It is a scary proposition and thank goodness we have the capacity to go back. Keep your focus on the prize ahead...not being a slave to a pill. Being able to travel anywhere in the world without a second thought about maintaining your script. Time will heal and before you know it, 5 days will become 50 days. You are on the winners path.

Thank you my friend as for the accessibility issue it’s not by me but I could drive and get it. I blocked the dealers number but know it by heart and know they would gladly sell me some I was never prescribed this I just started taking it because it was a drug that got me high as a kite with a minimum chance of being tested by future employers ... seems stupid now lol I will not waiver In my stand but sometimes you need to hear or see it’s possible I don’t know how you done it but good for you and I can’t wait to be in your shoes with 100 plus days clean. I take an army of supplements but the one thing I wished they prescribed was time.... time to get past this beast lol

NateRB well it was 2 months, but it was forced. After 12 years of doing suboxone it's not easy to quit especially when your in a program offering them to you. After 2 months I still felt completely drained, still was having the constant sweats and watery eyes as well. Ask anyone who has done suboxone for a decade or better and most will tell you cold turkey is not the way. Currently down to 1/2 of a generic suboxone tablet a day . Tapering just works better for me I guess.

Joe Carta Sorry for the delay. Ubfortunately the truth of the matter is there isn't much you can do (naturally) to induce sleep during the 1st 2-3 weeks. TRY to walk around and expend as much energy as you can during the day. I wont lie to you. Not sleeping is the hardest part about his for many people, especially of you have a job and responsibilities. But if you can make it to day 20 your sleep should start to correct itself pretty nicely at that point. Diphenhydramine (benedryl) can be helpful as well, just dont overdo it.

Don't go on long term buprenorphine. Its impossible to come off. The withdrawals are more subdued than oxy or heroin withdrawals but absolute horror and last forever. Your body gets seriously dependent on this potent long acting artificial opioid and a positive attitude won't help. I'm going through it but the toll it takes on my wife and kids makes me wonder if its worth it. It might be 6 months before I'm human again and some people say 12 months. If you have a choice after deciding to get off the oxy or heroin or whatever, just do the cold turkey and maybe a few weeks of suboxone.

I commented this on some Doctors channel and got no response so I’m going to paste it here. Any feedback would be appreciated. I have a question, I was reading that the sub withdrawal is the worst in the first 72 hrs like I imagined since the heroine and fentanyl were always the worst in those first 3 days. I’m on Suboxone now and have been for 4 years. I was at 24mg a day after only a few months, and now for about the last 3/4 of the year I have been on 28mg. I wanted to see how bad it would be so I thought I would just not take any for as long as I can until I couldn’t stand it and then I would. I get weekly carries now for being clean so long so I only go in once a week to pick up my doses for the week. I last took mine on Thursday morning at about 8:45am March 14th, and it’s now Saturday night at midnight on the 16th. I haven’t hardly had much withdrawals tho and I’m wondering if it’s cause of how high my dose is and the naloxone has maybe countered the effects of it for a while which is why I feel like it hasn’t helped me much over these last years in terms of body aches and feeling good enough to do much, or if it’s just cause it’s a high dose and it hasn’t all completely left my system. Today I was feeling slight withdrawals like the chills then sweats from one second to the next, yawning a lot, runny nose and sneezing, and I’d say slightly more body aches, but I’ve been able to sleep and eat, I haven’t been super restless or bouncing my legs through the ceiling, so I’m a little confused as I figured by now I’d be throwing up everything I eat and shitting a waterfall out me arse. If anyone else has experienced this could you let me know if it’s just cause it’s not all out of my system and that I may feel really sick in the next day or so, or if the naloxone has countered it all these yrs. I heard that the naloxone is only in it to prevent people shooting it and that it doesn’t do anything when ingested/ dissolved under tongue. Also I will add that I have been quite constipated for several weeks, so I haven’t passed much of it out of my system that way, but I know if the sickness is coming that will pass very quickly lol. Also I was told when I started the program that 24mg was the max dose, and I was reading about heavy users who only took 8-12 mg a day and it worked wonders, and here I was at 24mg after only 4 months on the program, and now at 28mg. UPDATE: It’s now 3:45 the next day (Sunday March 17th), I’ve now gone 79hrs without the suboxone and my symptoms have stayed about the same. I was able to go to the bathroom this morning, and I’m sure by now it’s all out of my system. I had a pretty shitty sleep tho, waking up every few hrs cause my back had that restless feeling in it you get from withdrawal. But I’m now convinced that the higher the dose, the naloxone cancels out the bupe, cause this is crazy... I used to withdrawal so bad from the fentanyl and heroine, and I see people in here saying the sub withdrawal can be worse, but here I am 79 hrs without it and have very mild to barely any withdrawal symptoms. The chills and sweats are getting annoying and I’m still slightly restless, but it’s not to the point I’m laying on the ground bouncing or kicking my legs around. I have been able to eat as well. I was havin some stomach cramps earlier and felt like I was going to shit myself but it was just mostly gas. I’m probably going to take an 8mg here to get rid of the sweats and chills cause they’re annoying, but definitely going to tell my dr about this cause I’m really surprised at how well I feel for just stopping 28mg for 3 n a half days now cold turkey.

When do you stop the worst of the physical stuff from subs?

xxoxia I’m coming off them now. I’m in the UAE. There is virtually no way of getting them here (I too was on subutex free in the U.K.). Save some cash and go and find a doctor that can help you through the withdrawals. You can get various meds to take that edge off (diazepam/ anti depressants/ anti anxiety etc). Plan and go and get help once you are there, or once you are in withdrawal you will spend whatever you need to get back on them... then the mess will start. Get help. Good luck ... I’m on day 1 and I’m not happy but I’m stable. X

@5thElement347
@5thElement347 5 жыл бұрын
yes, because when a person takes this medication for longer than 2 wks, the brain chemistry changes. It will happen to anyone and everyone. Im sorry to hear about your friend. People don't believe that the brain is altered by these medications but it is. It takes a very very very long time for a brain to regenerate itself back to it's original chemistry. Sometimes, the brain may be permanently altered. that's just the way it is. At least there is a maintenance med to allow your friend to function normally. It takes time. alot of it.. don't give up.. hang in there!!!! im glad you are still friends with them. They need all the support they can get..

I jumped from 8 mg and I would rather die than go through that again. I'm hoping jumping from .5 or 1mg will be a lot easier. If it's even close to being as bad I'm not sure ima make it this time. I remember days 3-7 were the absolute worse. Still pretty bad days 8-14. Felt a good bit better after 2 weeks but still had some shitty feelings. I hated when my stomach would growl/bubble constantly even after being able to finally make a hard turd...its like a reminder of the wds. I'm at 1 mg now and preparing to jump in about 1.5 months. Ima try to get down to .5 before my jump and take some adderalls during the first week and Xanax at night. I dont like benzos but I have to get some sleep this time. Last detox I did nothing and wasn't prepared. I even went to work on day 4/5 running to the bathroom all day. It was horrible and I'm hoping it will be at least 50% easier than jumping from 8 mg. I don't know if wd symptoms decrease by a certain % by how much less u jump from. Like if I jumped from 4 mg would it have been 50% easier, or no matter what its gonna be as bad. Guess I'll see

So i told myself not to up my dose cuz suffered so much already. I'm dosing that twice so i can sleep and work cuz wasted my week vaca. I can tell you i have a big headache and thats it. I think the brain is trying to repair itself or something. Beside that nothing really to complain i went shopping today with no problem. My plan is to decrease my dose as much as possible because i don't want to go thru that again. I guess what i am saying is im staying low dose and keep dropping til i kind of feel normal again if that make sense. I think big jump off from 6 mg kind slap me and said why didn't i taper. Im telling everybody to please taper cause it will hit you hard.

@@nick9341 in in the same boat. I currently only dose 0.50 mg daily around 10 am. I know it's hard, especially mentally to not take a second/evening dose. Please try to only dose 1 time a day and then eventually start having skip days. I've done about 5 skip days so far, when I was 0.75 I skipped a day 3 times. Yesterday was my first skip day at 0.50 mg. Tomm I'm gonna be dropping to 0.40 and hopefully it works out. Usually after I'm able to skip a day on a dose the next taper isn't that bad.

Can anyone explain why it's so hard on your body...some people have almost no withdrawal symptoms , some people go thru hell...what is the science behind withdrawal ,what is your brain and body going thru.
@goodbyesuboxone4263
@goodbyesuboxone4263 5 жыл бұрын
In a VERY laymen explaination, I will say this...Suboxone, just like any other opiod/opiate, is responsible for releasing the chemicals from our brains which are responsible for making us feel happy, and otherwise comfortable. It is a process that most people take for granted. We take for granted that when we sit down, that it will not hurt our butt...that when we lightly bump into something with our knee, that it will not hurt (much). Our bodies are capable (when we don't mess with them) of creating comfort and good feelings for us right when we need them. Opiods, when used everyday for extended periods of time, become the mechanism which prompts our brains to produce these comforting chemicals that we know as pleasure, comfort and happiness. When we stop taking what has now become a vital part of this process, our brains no longer produce these "happy" chemicals on their own. It is at this point that a person truley feels and understands how fragile our brains really are. Thank goodness we do have the capability to return to homeostasis, BUT not everyone returns as quickly as others. To try to answer your question about why it is so much worse for some than others, I feel there are a multitude of factors that contribute to this. Some would include: diet and overall health, a person's attitude going into the withdrawal, support at home or lack there of. Also, some people have a higher threshold for pain and suffering than others. Think of a hardened marine or navy seal who has been through intense training. Not everyone is built to handle suffering. It is certainly a case by case issue. But I do believe that unlike making it though navy seal training, that EVERYONE CAN DO THIS. However some will handle it "better" than others no doubt. Hope that was helpful friend.

Do you work? I’m on suboxone and if I stop talking suboxone there is no way I could go to work. I have been written up at work and I have been disciplined for attendance
