You made reference to making an effort to ensure spelling on the cover of your book is correct. It turns out that I spotted a few things on the covers featured in your video. In the main title for the Soul Survivor cover, you are missing the first “R” that’s supposed to be placed between the “U” and the first “V”. That error exists on the front cover title as well as on the back cover title. Interestingly, you have it spelled correctly on the title that appears on the spine. On the back cover blurb, you make reference to “Named after the famed aviator of five centuries ago,” but then you spell the heroine’s first name wrong. It should be “Amelia”, not “Aemilia”. At least, it should be spelled Amelia if you really are going for the original historical name. If you’re using Aemilia for the sake of artistic license, then the name is only loosely based on the historical figure from five centuries ago. Additionally, on the earlier cover for “Faith Before the Storm,” there appears to be a typo in the back cover blurb. Near the bottom of that blurb, there is part of a sentence that reads “…or will it to fall victim to the vast divide…”. That first “to” should not be there. If you remove that word, then that snippet reads more naturally as “…or will it fall victim to the vast divide…”. Indeed, when you read that blurb aloud in your video you skipped over that first “to” yourself. I’m presuming that you were so used to seeing that extra “to” there that your brain auto-corrected that for you. I’ve had that sort of thing happen myself. Fresh eyes can usually spot such things in an instant. It’s very easy for these errors to creep in and bedevil authors and designers. Lucky are the ones who find such boo-boos BEFORE their book project goes to print! ;) Hope this helps.

Thanks, it does in fact help, and emphasizes the point... DON'T TRUST YOURSELF! We miss our own mistakes because we know what we thought we wrote, and we're reading from memory (what we intended to write) as much, if not more from what's on the page. Thanks for the catches, I appreciate it. I actually refer to the spelling error on the cover of Soul Survivor. I'd love to say it was on purpose, but the truth is, I missed the R. We all do it, which is why, if you can find someone who is good at catching these things, reward them. Pay them, buy them pizza, give them free copies of your book, whatever it takes. They are invaluable.
