How much do you have to rely on your opponent to make mistakes in order to get a win. I thought about this before. This is a bigger concept in fighting games than most people realize and I rarely see anyone mention this so I'm glad you basically brought it up here.

Most players know it's better to be reactive than mashing. If you are reactive to Chun and simply not engage, it's almost over for most Chun Li players.

the best things to make a char top tier: a - projectile b - inv. reversal c - easy and fairly safe, METERLESS way to start offense (i.e. think Ken's Dragonlash) d - good damage output without burning out e - good, fast drive rush e.5 - an overhead that can preferrably be drive rushed into f- an efficient way to combat projectiles if the character doesnt have their own fireball g - easy throw loop h - and obviously a drive rush cancellable low foward these are in no particular order, just a checklist of sorts. The more of these a char has, the more likely they are to be top tier. Feel free to add any i didnt think of.

For me there is to much way to skip the neutral and so to keep the the projectile game relevant they make it really strong. So when you have a character that can do this skip neutral, you are in a really bad position. Today it's like some character play sf6( rachid ,luke,ken,juri etc....) and sime character just play street fighter ( Zangief, Marissa, Dhalsim,Manon etc....) As a Gief player i can tell you that the Gief in legend comes from the fact that lot's of really good player try the character and that lot's of player don't know the match up because of the new headbutt tool. But it become obvious nlw that it begun already to change. The buffs are great but they don't touch to what was the character problem so things will get back to what it was before soon, same for Manon. They have to find a way for everyone to play sf6. I personnaly think that you can't let grapplers get a neutral skip like others but to compensate they should at least have good defense witch is clearly not the case, they have the worst defense.

Long reach pokes that has armor and can connect combos. That is all the characters that got huge buffs. Those are Marissa, Zangief, Manon, Luke, and Lilly.. give it time..

It's a shame we won't be seeing Marisa in tournaments. She gave variety to the Shoto parade and now with the addition of Akuma it will only get worse.

What make a character strong? Long and fast Drive Rush, good normals for Drive Impact traps, a DP, a RELIABLE anti-air normal that can provide setups or combo routes... ah yeah, and juggle combo count that is low so you can abuse stuff like Deejay when launching your opponent.

In masters? no, literally everyone baits the DR at long range and they counter it. At short range, his DR is equally effective as Marisa/Zangief/JP because literally anyone can burn one bar for OKI. People always shitting on Deejay for a UNIVERSAL MECHANIC No Lvl 1 reversal AND no DR Cr Mk! Every poke loses to DI!!! Break Deejay's DR and you get the win. Most overrated character

@@maaramori3404 while I’m a huge fan of SFV, this game is making you spend meter for mixups where SFV doesn’t make you spend any resources for those mixups . While having a stun meter which promotes you being ran over . While I was a bigger fan of the aesthetic of SFV & the footsies within the game, SF6 is still a great game that’s worth playing

Unlike Gief, Marisa lacks range, that's what holds her back. Strong character must have 1 of these: Winning Neutral (poking / zoning) Rushdown (get in tool) High damage easily (bnb combo, mixup etc) Vortex (Mika & Gief in sfv) Capcom hates vortex so badly, yet doesn't give other tools to Marisa Manon, makes them very weak in this version.

Everybody hates neutral skipping mechanics but for some reason they added a universal neutral skipping mechanic

Not really, pro players hate neutral skipping, but casual players love it, and it's more entertaining to watch. Tekken 8 nerfed movement such that less neutral and more mixup (timeout games much less than Tekken 7), this is the trend of recent fighting games.

In my opinion, drive dash is part of neutral. Don't see any issue, there are no "true neutral footsie" fighting game.

@@Shaar_drive reversal, DP, jab check if they do a fake drive rush string, super, perfect parry. I’m having a hard time seeing your point of there being “little to no counter play” I just named 5 things.

DR on lows should be removed from the game. I don't get why they made the decision for standing MK to be impossible to DR into, but not crouching MK...

Most standing MK are not special cancellable, and for good reason. Imagine the likes of Ken and ryu being able to button>drc from even further away than now.

The Drive Rush pause should be even longer. And if you are Drive Reversal out of Drive Rush, you should lose 4 or 5 bars In total. Stealing should not be allowed in SF6.

JP got murdered because he can be whiff punished like a Samurai Showdown character. With his other nerfs factored in, he might legit become Bottom 5 character.

@@fuman7057 I wouldn't say he's bottom 5 or even bad, OD Departure is still super good, but he is on the edge of being straight up bad. One more nasty nerf could kill him. The fact he can barely play neutral now and can't consistently anti air for portal setups hurt him big time.

I only play in master (dunno how he is in higher lvl) and honestly all the JPs I found make me think he indeed kinda fell off lmao and I'm playing Manon so he should be a bad match up, yet he feels so easy now lol.

Being able to drive rush behind a fireball will automatically make a character strong. The main culprit is the fast and input eating drive rush. People abuse it with certain characters. Well, a lot of characters. Hell, even Gief can rush people down nearly full screen. That's why most characters are viable. This game does not have any weak characters.
