I just found grandma’s wig on a vintage wig head in a cylinder box from the 1960s. Human hair and it is still looking good (i wouldn’t wear it due to the vintage style) but it is interesting to see the way the cap was made. The only tag on it says simply ‘handmade’. My own two wigs are synthetic.

That's pretty cool that it hasn't disintegrated! Amazing!

The vast majority of my wigs are hard front. They also all have bangs so it really doesn't matter that it doesn't exist. I agree from my own extensive experience of wearing wigs daily for years that you can wear perfectly great and realistic wigs with hard fronts. Hard fronts are cheaper too but can easily look just as realistic as a lace front as long as you use the bangs to cover up the hard front hairline. You can't pull the forehead hair up but you just use bangs.

Are you talking about hard fronts or basic caps? To me hard front are the cheap Amazon type wigs with a hard plastic piece in the front of the wig. Basic caps are wigs without lace fronts or mono features.

@@MissKrisLoves I always used the term hard front to distinguish wigs without a lace front, that's the term I've always seen used. So we're using two different words for the same thing even though I have seen hard front monofilament wigs like the Acclaim Luxury by Eva Gabor (not sure if it was discontinued or not).

Wearing various styles and color of wigs can certainly change the way a woman looks, but have you ever considered adding glasses along with your wigs to change your look even more? Having been an optician for over 37 years it was always amazing how much the looks of a woman could be changed simply by fitting her with glasses in a beautiful fashionable frame. So I can only imagine how much a the perfect wig along with really attractive glasses would change any woman's appearance. She would likely be unrecognizable to even her best friends. I would to see how different you would look with the addition of a pair of really cute glasses and several of your different style wigs. You can find hundreds of really fashionable glasses at numerous on-line glasses sites. Here are just 3 that the girls that worked in our optical store were quite often ordering their own glasses from. Zenni Optical, Payne Glasses and Lensmart. Each of them has a wonderful selection of glasses for as low as $7.00. That price includes the lenses in your prescription if in fact you actually needed prescription lenses an of as non-prescription also. If it's been longer than 18 months since you last had your eyes examined you're nearing when everyone should be getting their eyes checked which is every 2 years.

Please do some pixie wigs for summer. It is so hard finding something young and edgy vs. grandma's poofy short cut.

I suffer from alopecia (I still have my hair but they are fine and terrible). Would love to play with wigs but my head is super small and the industrial ones look way bigger on my head. Any remedy?? I'm a bit desperate because I can't spend that much on a wig at the moment. Thanks for your advice and great videos!

What size is your head? I also have a small head, about 21”. Let me know, I might be able to suggest something after I learn what size your head is ❤️
@ClayMey Жыл бұрын
@@WigsWithSteph Thanks, I need to check (and convert from cm to inches), Only considering the size I need to buy for the hats... It's usually 52 cm max 54 cm and it starts to become a bit large, so in inches is around 20.5 to 21. I used to work for a fashion company and they used my head as a reference for hats for teenage girls, and I have to buy hats only in the kids' department. Also, my face, is now aging too and has become less and less rounded accentuating the issue. Yesterday I got one cheap and even though it was as big as usual (it was moving around like crazy and I used the elastics to regulate it to make it as small as possible). But overall it was okay. But always too puffy and way too much hair even if it was already trimmed into a nice layered haircut by the factory. What more should I do? To keep it in place first, and to avoid the excess of hair on the top sides mainly. If I add a headband the problem is a lot less visible but I can feel the hair is still too much. Thanks a lot, I'm so tired of seeing my head this way :( Oh, one more thing... they are always big enough to cover my ear a bit unless I pull it back so if I try to put the hair behind the ear for a natural effect I look like an elf with prominent ears :) A disaster!
