Atsushi is my most favorite character ,I mean he started off the whole story and I can't write everything of why I love his character (it be a really long post hahaha💘) but he so different from the other characters so special kind hearted fights for what's right even tho he has a terrible childhood HE ONLY ONE CONNECTED TO THE BOOK ,hes a white tiger that's a big big part of Asian mythology ECT his relationship with dazai❤️ HE JUST EVERYTHING I LOVE ABOUT ANIME AND MANGA I gave up manga and anime over time but bungou stray dogs is a keeper👍❤️

Aktugawa says it best “…his claws tear through the very fabric of an ability…” his claws have a slightly similar ability to ‘No longer human’ where, when his claws come in contact with an ability it cancels and shreds it.

Atsushi Nakajima reminds me a lot of Allen Walker from the D-Gray Man series, one of the reasons is the mercy and patience that both protagonists express towards their enemies. They are kind, they doubt themselves, they look for a purpose to live and they don't know their past well. Another interesting thing with both protagonists is the mystery of their existence. A thousand things happened in D-Gray Man before discovering the shocking true identity of Allen Walker, and I have a feeling that the same treatment will be carried out with Atsushi. My theory is; that the page that Fyodor and all the villains seek will be destroyed, and the importance of Atsushi will be revealed, and it is here that the protagonist's ark will really begin. They're basically giving us the story of the other characters and Dazai's story first before finally focusing on the protagonist himself. Bungou Stray Dogs is already a complicated (but fun) story where everyone kindly gave a leading role, but I'm sure that soon we will finally focus on the boy in question, our dearest Atsushi Nakajima, (who without fail has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen in an anime. His design is so simple that it undoubtedly makes him iconic and very handsome, just like Allen Walker, another anime that I highly recommend).

I think the tiger is similar to that entity in chuuya making atsushi and unnatural ability user who gets his powers from an entity that is being trapped inside them. It was stated that chuuya is an unnatural ability user who is a host for arahabaki who is the source of his gravity powers. I think atsushi is in a similar situation especially since he doesn't have memories prior to his orphanage life and the headmaster of the orphanage saying in a flashback that atsushis real parents tortured him worse than what the orphanage was doing hinting at atsushi possibly being an experimental subject prior to going to the orphanage.

If I’m being honest the Decay of Angels arc represents what bsd is all about. But at the same time it flips all your preconceived notions about how the world operates. 8/10
