What Makes Horror Games Scary?

Here are some of my thoughts about the horror games i've played in my ongoing quest to become more scary (i am very scary)

In my opinion the scariest thing about horror games is the fact they're all dark - means I have to see my reflection the entire time. And that's way worse than the goblin.
