For everyone who is learning kazuya, they most definitely will agree to these points.. For everyone who mastered kazuya, they will probably have stories for every situation and can add on to the thickness of his complexity. To those who thought they mastered kazuya but didnt, you're either still disagreeing with TMM or you just came to your senses on what its gonna take to learn a CD to WS4 or that you have to learn EWGF while traveling in different directions or even wavedash into them. @matt timko well i wouldn‘t say executing it is hard since lets be real its a foward and a qcf and 2. sure you need to time the 2 but that isn‘t the hard part. its more of a consistency skill that makes it hard to use and of course that viewpoint is quite the time ago and my mind certainly has changed over the year. i think ewgf is a super tool but its the only great tool kazuya has that won‘t go for risk. i think in general kazuya doesn‘t work in t7‘s system well since most characters can do what he can but alot more efficient and less risky

Devil Jin has the hardest Mishima combos as of Season 3, IMO. To get anything above 70 points off an EWGF, you have to do the EWGFx2 into f,f+4. Devil Jin is lacking in useful tailspin moves.

His game plan in fact is simple, but you got to deal with the consequences of this and thats what makes him "hard", because people know how to beat you. But aside that he got really good moves.

I've always believed that mishimas (and Tekken in general) play best on pad where it's impossible to be a 1p mishima and a lot easier to execute just frame commands. Kind of like how Zato from Guilty Gear and to a lesser extent Balrog from Street Fighter play best on stick and hitbox due to negative edge mechanics lending themselves more naturally to those controllers.

Using Kazuya made me depressed for awhile because I was on a losing streak with him, making me think my playstyle was no longer compatible with him. Thankfully I think I’ve gotten past it by rearranging my thinking. He’s still challenging but it’s stopped being frustrating.

I tried him, too, but dropped him because I think he is too boring. You just turtle and use his excellent punish tools, then hellsweep into Oki, Wavu Wavu into hellsweep, Wavu Wavu into WS2, Wavu Wavu into Electric, Wavu Wavu all the time... fF3 as a mixup tool combined with hellsweep, fF4 as Oki with fF3 as a mixup here... easiest electric in the game... execution, yes. But his gameplan is just the definition of simplicity...

@@glacialshine4022 For me it was more like whatever the fighting game equivalent of writer's block would be. I could play Kazuya but I was coming up short on how to play him effectively. I had used him for a long time before this point so when I felt like my game was slipping with him, I thought I had spent too much time playing Heihachi or Devil Jin and that I had hit my wall with Kazuya. Reassessing what works and what doesn't with Kazuya brought him back into focus for me so I no longer feel held back when I use him.

6 electrics aren't important, it's kinda impractical and not worth practicing, that time should be used to learn character fundamentals and stuff. Tho TMM has a point; you have to learn EWGF well on both sides, wavedash as well, and df+2 PEWGF if you want to maximize your guaranteed damage from CH df+2. He has no panic moves, offense not the best.

This is the reason I dropped Kazuya for Paul in T7. The result? I don't lose to random players in tournaments anymore, which know everything about anti-Kazuya. Literally everyone knows how to step and how to frame-perfect punish Kazuya. I only pick him, when the matchup is good (e.g. vs Nina, Dragunov etc.).

Kazuya players have to read their opponents 5-6 times per round in order to even stay alive. But if your opponent reads you even 1 time, you're almost dead.

Yea Kaz is not easy to play efficiently at all. Although most Kaz players just rush you down once you're grounded and you spend 3/4 of a round trying to get out the infinite loop of getting up & guessing. That wave dash f4 shuts down SSL as well

My main is Heihachi and when Tekken 8 announced I was scared he may not be in the new game, so I am currently learning kazuya. It is night and day the difficulty for both of them are, heihachi at least got some good strings that are fast and are hard to punish on block, all of kazuya strings are basically ass and if u dare throw them out u will be at a bad dis advantage. The only thing I can say is easier to do than heihachi is landing electrics because that is literally ur only tool and twin pistons and hell sweep if u don't get blocked to get any combos and momentum going, I give great respect to kazuya mains

from my experience He has the Best 50/50 in game, but lacks good mid fast pokes. he rely too much on movement but to me the worst is his dependence to ewgf: -he cannot launch punish without ewgf. and doing an ewgf as punishment is fucking hard because you have to know exactly when you recover -your video about instant hellsweel from crouch make me understand why twin piston has a such short range: it is because Harada wants us to use ewgf from crouch

Everyone who thinks Kaz is easy or have trouble against him cant either fuzzyguard, sidestep, predict lows or all of the above. You should play more mishimas and do mishima mirrors then you can see how much of a chess game it is to play witz kazuya against STRONG opponents who can read everything pretty well. I'm talking about S1 red ranks and purple. Of course you can spam df2 and hs in orange ranks.
