We have in France at the moment probably five flyhalves at the international Tier 1 level, Mathieu Jalibert (Bordeaux), Romain Ntamack (Toulouse) , Antoine Hastoy (Pau) ,Léo Berdeu (Lyon) and Louis Carbonel (Toulon). My favourites are Ntamack, and Jalibert as an impact player in the second half.

A pleasure, thank you for taking a look! The battle for the 10 shirt is massive in France isn't it! Ntamack is outstanding too & in reality he'll probably end up back at 10 as he's a bit more rounded. I still find Jalibert more exciting to watch!

Jalibert and Dupont are two defense breakers, Rugby artists, Dupont and Ntamack are more complementary I suppose and they have built a complicity at club level which is very important for a 9 and a 10. I agree Jalibert is more exciting but against a team like England or Wales I personally take Ntamack if he’s fit to play. Having to decide between a Ntamack and a Jalibert (and potentially a Carbonel) is a good problem to have :-))

He’s incredibly fast. Saw him play against Biarritz a few years ago. Caught up a winger who intercepted the ball and had an easy head start.

Big time rugby crush! He gets a decent amount of credit, but I still don't think it's enough! He's got to be up there with the best 10's for taking gaps in front! Dupont too is setting the world alight! His analysis will take on a very different style to this one. The little details of his game haven't been highlighted by anyone yet, just some general overview vids, so I'm looking forward to it!

@@GeraintDaviesGDD that's because the media in France have decided the hype would be on Dupont..maybe because stade toulousain has more influence on the media than a more up-and-coming club like Begles Bordeaux ? But even though ithey're hard to compare, at the end Jalibert really is the player who makes difference in this squad, more than Dupont. What Dupont does maybe others could do it, but what Jalibert does, no one can do it

France suffered a crossing of the wilderness for more than ten years, because it no longer had a proper fly-half since Lamaison. The national coaches delegated their job to the scrum half. For a couple of years we have had two real numbers 10 and French Flair is once again feared…

We’re are fortunate in France we have 3 good Nr 10 Ntamack and Jalibert, IMO différent but both extremely talented and as a third choice Carbonel still very good despite being very young. Good analysis I like Jalibert too. I just think Ntamack should probably be our first choice because of the relationship he has with Dupont in club, this complicity is priceless.

Nine month later Carbonnel (Toulon) is possibly the number 5 or number 6 as a Fly Half in France, at the same level than Antony Belot (Toulon) and behind Antoine Hastoy (Pau) and Léo Berdeu. (Lyon)

Hey Matt, I've been considering that very thing! Honestly, I don't think so unless Ntamack can adapt to play at 12, but even then he wouldn't be the best 12 France have to select from. Neither of their clubs are going to give them a go there either! I'm going to say, I'd love to see them 10 & 12, but I don't think it'll happen!

​@@GeraintDaviesGDD I thought toulouse regularly play Ntamack at 12! I think even in the ERCC Toulouse would play Ntamack at 12 and France fullback Ramos at 10! Or even a winger at 10. Is their system just different where their 12 is the field general? I think squidge rugby touched a little bit on this in the most recent video.

Which one would you pick to play 10 ? Jalibert or NTamack ?? Toulouse fans in France say NTamack is way better. I don t think so. I think Jalibert has more skills that Ntamack. Ntamack is more of a "classical" 10 I would say. What do you think ?

It's a massive call when Ntamack is fit again! For me, Ntamack has a better rounded game & being able to play 10 and 12 really benefits his defence and tactical kicking. He's got an outrageous pass too! For me Jalibert is more exciting to watch, his pace, footwork and eye for the gap is up there with the best 10's in the world! He'd be a quality 15 too. I'd love to Jalibert at 10 and Ntamack at 12!

Was wondering how he saw all the things in the very first example you put up, and then you said 'now he had all that time to prepare and watch the defence in the first example, let's see what he can do when he has less time.' 😵‍💫😱🤣🙌 France are a threat to dominate the world scene as their team starts putting it together consistently, because of players like him and DuPont. That's great news for world rugby. I hope they lose to Japan but otherwise...wow.

The Brave Blossoms played such a pleasing to watch rugby in the 2019 world cup and showed such a big heart in the quarter finals! A match against France will certainly be spectacular and two sided.
