Unpopular kid in high school here..... i was one of those that just wasnt talkative at all and so no one really knew much about me. I kind of liked it that way though..... nobody had any dirt on me. But when youre quiet you tend to listen so there wasnt much i didnt know about alot of people. I was a "sit back and watch" kind of person. Listen kids, at the end of the day those people in high school ultimately have almost zero effect on your life. Dont let them influence who you are. Just be you, and the people who are meant to be in your life will make their way to you naturally. Its not worth becoming something you hate. A smart man learns from his mistakes..... a wise man learns from the mistakes of others.

For anyone in High School right now, watching this to try and figure out how to be more popular or have more friends, just know this: the social aspects of High School are a joke. Nobody remembers or cares about High School once you graduate and go into college or the work force. High School is without a doubt, the most awkward, uncomfortable, and difficult point in your young life in terms of fitting in. But the real world isn't a popularity contest, and nobody cares what you do or what makes you happy. The best thing you can do is to just find what makes you happy and surround yourself with friends who enjoy the same things you do. Once you go to college, no one is going to bully you for liking video games or playing card/board games, the way you dress, anything. Most of the "popular" kids I went to Highshool with faded out of existence after graduating and many of them still live in the same town, something that is common with many cities around the country. Above everything, just be the person that you would want to be friends with, and your life will be a whole lot more positive and satisfying

I'll sum it up for you: Athletic Rich family Usually white Tall Very pretty Outgoing Two year later edit: if you're seeing this, most popular kids gain popularity just out of being friendly and having self confidence. What I listed above helps with certain people, but if it's things like "being rich", "white", or "being pretty" that gains their attention and things like that only, you don't want to get their attention. Life is too short to please and appeal to everyone in high school, so in the meantime, find some friends that love you for you (even if it's a small amount), have fun, and take confidence in yourself. That's all.

Last year, when I was a freshman in high school, I was really unpopular in my wellness class. Everyone would throw trash at me, choose me last for the team, etc. Once, I was the very last girl chosen for a team (the popular kids were team captains who chose their team, and the groups of those being chosen were split between boys and girls), and I was just really depressed that day. I'm also in marching/concert band, so when I went to that class, my friend and I were talking about what happened, and our previous section leader happened to hear us. She said the most sweetest words, I'll never forget: "It's okay. You're popular in this band, and that's all that matters. 😊" through those words, I was able to get through the last of the semester. So even if you're viewed as unpopular, you'll always be popular in the eyes of good friends who care. 😄🎺

As an 18 year old, I agree with much that this video claims. Many students who came from wealthy families, dressed very cleanly, were athletic, and/or just visually attractive had followers pretty much every time they were seen (both in school and on social media). I never even came close to being popular as I was the stereotypical emo nerd through school. Straight As, dressed in dark or strange clothing, long hair, and loved reading or messing with technology. As such, I gravitated towards people who looked like me and shared my interests, but even then I never found a group or made any lasting friends (I literally don’t have ANY friends). However, I graduated early and I’m now looking into colleges. Lucky for me I never cared about popularity in the first place.

Almost everyone hates them but we don't show it since we know that they are devils. Most of the popular kids now in our school used to be my best friends but as time passed they got influenced by the popular kids. The most popular kids in our school was a group of girls who were smart pretty and always favored by the teacher. They are plastic to teachers and that's why their favored by them so much when in reality they gossip mean things about everyone and everyone knows they're like this they just don't say cuz we all know that they will find a way to get out of the problem.

I have like a very weird situation. I have a big group of like 14 friends, then a group of 2 (who are just my OG friends from like 9 years ago), then I have 2 friends I know from my area, I have 1 friend I game with. I feel like, honestly, the game friend and the OG friends are the closest because of the group size. The one of the area is probably not completely honest, simply because they might only be friends cause we live close to eachother. The group of 14, the school friends, I feel like there are like 4 actual friends, the other 9 or just people that like talking to my friends and sometimes talk to me but they always cut conversations short for no reason, making it even more awkward and making our connection weak. Its really never my bad that people dislike me, its just them not giving me a chance to talk to them. Its frustrating, I try to share stuff with them, but what I get back is some uninterested bullshit. Like at least act like you care, but they dont even do that either, or at least say a joke I made isnt fun.. Thats something that these 4, and the other groups dont do. And thats why I have to agree with you. I see it with a bunch of other groups too.,

At my school, the most "popular" kids were the ones that were insanely good looking, but most importantly also really nice people. Its hard to be jealous or bitter of someone when they're just good all around people. Then again, my school might have been a bit different as we didn't really have too many cases of bullying, people were two-faced sure but at least they didn't pick on each other. Popularity is overrated, which is probably why we're constantly downgrading the gifts that can come with those who are neurodiverse. Popularity requires groupthink levels of social conformity to maintain. The best kinds of people are authentic and think for themselves. "Social skills" is too vague a term: social skills is a form of conformity that is often inauthentic, and meaningless to those who are truly authentic and free thinking.
@neolink81976 жыл бұрын

I'm incredibly beautiful now, but growing up I absolutely was not. No sugar coating it, I had the dorkiest and most awkward looking face in the school. Almost every popular girl in the school knew who I was and actively tried to bully me. Literally dozens of girls. I was shy, awkward, and distant. I would play my DS at school and I just didn't care what people thought. When I first got out of high school, I thought a lot about why I was truly bullied. It wasn't that I was actually ugly (although that didn't help) or that I would play video games in itself. It was the fact that I didn't care enough to put my video games away or to dress the way they wanted me to. Not only do I have a lot of self-confidence and loyal friends, but I really don't care what they said. I cared endlessly when I was in school. The roots of bullying comes from jealousy and insecurity. They hated the fact that I did what I wanted and I didn't conform. I wish more kids knew how important it is to not fall into the crowd and conform and to be yourself. You'll be a happier person and people around you will thus like you more. It teaches resilience and Independence. Any kid reading this please learn to accept yourself and ignore them. I'm a happier adult, that I can tell you. I was a miserable teenager.

Due to me being me I actually got a bit popular, mostly because I danced and did it cause I wanted to. At first people seemed to make fun of me but soon they grew to encourage me and that. I also went on to be a manager for the baseball team. The guys on the team liked me that much. I remember trying out and making the tea. As a manager over a guy who was a complete ass and thought he was better than me. He didn't make the team. I did. And I was just who I was. That is one thing that everyone who is going through high school or going to be soon, just be you. Do what you like and what your want to do and things will fall in place.

I graduated high school a few decades before that.. I've noticed that the pretty and popular rating (then) had no affect on long term relationships. Knock's observation was rife with confirmation-bias or the texas-sharpshooter fallacy.. If you look ONLY at pretty and popular kids, then you can't say that they are MORE or LESS popular, sociable or stable than other groups. It's like saying "look, George Clooney and Denzel Washington were handsome, and they are rich now" -- but for that statement to be USEFUL, you have to examine the handsome people that are NOT rich as well as examining the people NOW rich who were not handsome.

I'm a meme at my school. Let me explain, so basically I am a nerdy kid, muscles are absent throughout my body, and... I am 1 foot shorter then the average kid at my school. So as you would expect, everyone says I can't hear you down there or you must bench 1,000 pounds per day. I take it as a joke though, it's actually still funny. If people are saying this, THEY ARE NOT BULLIES. Everyone on social media describes bullies like this. Don't use this as an excuse to have something to talk about. Please apply this to your life.

@Camillp111 ай бұрын
To any kid who’s watching this video to learn how to become more popular. Not being the popular kid in high school became my strength later on in life since I worked a lot on my appearance, skills and social skills and now I have a lot of discipline that helps me to keep all of this qualities. I became more extroverted and empathetic because I had to make a lot of effort to gain confidence and make friends. Now I am happy with my job and I have many friends since I am genuinely happy. You might suffer a lot in the process but at the end of the day, what really matters is self care, discipline and being a good person, becoming the best version of yourself will attract people to you
