Groove is just the flow of the song and hearing the song as a whole???

I personally think that groove also comes with flow. You need to have enough muscle memory and repetition in your pockets to be able to groove freely.

Is funny, because listening to insane base drum sounds fast and deep actually got me into drumming. So your point is so valid. With that being said, and on a side note, I'm always amazed at the depth and fullness you guys get out of these smaller set ups. Thank you for teaching thing's that really make a difference

I was just listening to Simple Minds, alive and kicking, and although not a complex song, the drummer did a great job of playing consistent and once he got to the chorus, it was awesome!
