Yes yes and yes. Cool looking pedals with quirky concept is the best! It's like toys you know, we want pedals to play with and have fun. 💖

I couldn't agree more about the 1981 DRV. The branding, aesthetic, and sound are all done so well, that it created a perfect storm around it to constantly sell out and demand a high value for resale.
@strobelightstrobelight3 жыл бұрын
"What makes the 1981 DRV so successful?" The image era we live - Instagram ofc. Paradoxically there's a huge target on the market that don't care about great sounding. If it's fancy, we fall in the capitalism system of consume.

The 1981 looks clean and modern, is easy to get a great sound with and is tremendously popular. I don't own one but the other guitarist in my band has one and yeah it's a great pedal...

I get my first 1981 DRV in the mail on Saturday. I can't wait to play it. I've downloaded some captures on the 1981 DRV on my Quad Cortex, so my expectation are high. I got he Alt Universe. Putting out limited editions of a the same pedal is smart. People will buy them for the chance to have something rare 10 years from now.

I think the Origin Effects pedals (especially the RevivalDrive) nail all five of these criteria. In my experience, I've yet to see another pedal that lives up to an ambitious concept, sounds absolutely incredible, has the best build quality in the entire industry, looks utterly incredible, and was marketed perfectly. That's why they can charge as much as they do, and the owners of these pedals (myself included) never feel as though they've overpaid.

Absolutely true. Their products are so strong that it seems like they have started to skip KZbin vids. I guess they sell a bunch anyways.

EUNA increases the Instagramability of your Pedalboard (now, seriously, the end result reminds me of BBE's sonic maximizer although it works in a different way)
@LivingroomGearDemos3 жыл бұрын
Cab you describe what it does to your sound?
@mamorumiyagawa3 жыл бұрын
@@LivingroomGearDemos I do not actually own one but reading about it (official website, forums, etc) and hearing demos of it is a Buffer with a Send/Return loop to bypass it, and also can add some presence to your tone. The BBE Sonic Maximizer and Sonic Stomp does something near it, but in a proprietary circuit. So, in a nutshell, it conditions your signal and can, also, enhance some frequencies. The loop is useful for fuzzes or other pedals that does not play well with anything that messes with signal impedance.
@mamorumiyagawa3 жыл бұрын
Btw, it is kind of safe to assume it is a Buffer on steroids because the guys that make the unit recommend you to put the EUNA first in the chain and remove other buffers, but they say it is a good idea to put an output buffer at the end of the chain. Their explanation on their own product looks sketchy and confusing. But it looks like a solid unit with "mastering properties".

You’re right, I care how cool a pedal looks. Builders,go back to side jacks. Most people fidget and interchange pedals. Not everyone has a pedal board.

It's ok to buy a 1981 DRV if your thirst for RAT hasn't been quenched by having an original or clone, a turbo or modded one and still wondering if there is a RAT more suited for you than those. Buy please buy a standard RAT first. So much cheaper and will probably do the trick anyway.

Indeed. Get one and run it at the front of your chain. Turn it on before you play anything. Noodle around for 5 minutes with that on, and mess with your other effects. THEN turn EUNA off and play some more. You’ll notice immediately.
