Dave Coleman has a remarkable ability to make the complicated sound simple…

After I heard Dave Coleman talking about steering input, I started to pay attention to my steering. With rental Kia or Nissan, I subconsciously adjust the steering wheel during the corner, but I don't with Mazda. It's pretty cool.

Being a Mazda guy I experienced that with a Nissan Rogue rental, I couldn't believe how bad it felt going into a corner on a highway and not instinctively knowing how much steering input was required. It felt really unnerving, especially in the winter on an icy surface.

Agreed. He's great to nerd out with about Vehicle Dynamics. Knows his stuff and explains it in a way that easy to understand and compelling.

Love this interview! Dave Coleman and his colleagues doing all this amazingly clever stuff is why I love driving my MX-5 so much and why I will buy a CX-60 as our next family car. (Hoping the CX-60 will get some more driving refinement that it lacked at first but seems there with the CX-90).

Finally Mr Coleman coming out with enlightenment we were all looking for ! I got my question : what are the HP and Torque numbers for base 3.3t both on 87oct and 93 Octane fuel....
@Hunter-nl2qt
@Hunter-nl2qt Жыл бұрын
280 Hp 332 lbs according to Mazdas website for the base 3.3 turbo on regular but 319 HP and 369 on regular tor the high output 3.3. 340hp on 93
@viewsonvehicles
@viewsonvehicles Жыл бұрын
Mazda tuned the base 3.3 Turbo to run on regular fuel. There's no peak horsepower or torque increase to run it on premium. Hope that helps.
@kdomster9141
@kdomster9141 Жыл бұрын
@@Hunter-nl2qt I know this much , Mazda is not specifying the numbers for 3.3t in nonS trim ... is 280hp 332tq calculated on regular 87oct or maybe on 93oct .... if it is power on 87oct as initially listed than 93oct should produce power bump to around 300hp and maybe 340tq .... There was a reviewer yesterday stating that numbers of 280hp/332tq are the same for any fuel - and that makes no sense at all! I hope Dave can answer that question . So far any Turbo engine benefits from higher octane fuel so why would this Mazda be different???

Do anyone have any proof of the base engine benefits from 93 rather than speculation?
@kdomster9141
@kdomster9141 Жыл бұрын
@@Sotrue816 as of now Mazda still does not want to confirm details why and how base 3.3t can NOT gain power from higher octane fuel. Just a statement that it makes same power on 87 and higher octane fuel. It is silly why they limit and cap this base 3.3 like no other Mazda car they sell , even 33K Mazda3 will gain power from higher octane . My ex 2017 CX-9 was runned on 93 and anytime i switched to 87 it really made it much slower at highway speeds so I always used 93 and was very happy with power gains ....

I am hearing the CX90 seats are too firm for a long distance ride. Can any owner verify if true or not?

Not an owner, but I drove the car on a four-hundred mile road trip (each way) and found the seats perfectly comfortable the entire time.

True. I have a CX90 and the seats feel harder than my Jeep Wrangler's seats. That's saying something.

I had a CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus as a dealer loaner for a week and I found the seats firm at first compared to my 2022 CX-5 Signature but after a few days with the car, I came to enjoy them and they were supremely comfortable.

Just came back from a Windrock Park TN trip from FL towing close to 5K with our CX70 Turbo S Premium. CX70 and CX90 have basically the same interior. The CX70 pulled that double axle trailer like a train. Transmission had no weird shifts or starts pulling that 5K load thru the TN mountains! Seats were extremely comfortable, brakes were strong and consistent and we averaged 14 mpg👍 Wish I could hear that big single turbo though😔

Please add independent rear to the Mazda 3 and give it more rear seat and cargo space and above all a sport model with a Miata quality manual available.gti golf r integra s civic r and si Elantra n Subaru WRX Corolla GR and others cannot make enough of this and premium sporty compacts from the Germans sell well as well. A good auto or dash as an option would be good.

Sounds like the engineering is very COMPLEX...... I wonder if the Mazda mechanics at the dealers are ready to do repair...
