The best campaign for me is Black Ops. It’s just the perfect mix of macho action and a legitimately great, dark story. The characters are memorable, the pacing is pretty damn good and the main plot has a surprising degree of depth to it. It’s not perfect, but it’s real close.

Just want to clarified BO2 "Canon" ending In BO3, it's mentioned that Menendez does gets killed in BO2 Final Mission. But the outcome isn't like the one in BO2 when Cordis Die wreak havoc across the globe in the wake of Menendez death Instead they realized that their beloved Menendez is just a coward & by then created a fracture within Cordis Die and with that their inevitable dissolution (not with a bang but a whimper)

Personally I absolutely see IW as the best campaign for many reasons but mainly because of how cinematic and dark it is, as well as the fact that you struggle with being a leader throughout the campaign and not just being a good badass leader. Also Reyes’ death makes it even better by showing that the main character doesn’t always finish the fight or necessarily win. It’s awesome and touches on topics that most cod campaigns don’t.

Vote with your wallet. If you're not the demographic being catered to, don't buy their products. Want serious games? Look for them and promote them. A lot of indie devs and AA studios punch high above their weight, and a few AAA studios still have it. When will gamers realise that mainstream has always been this way? They will make games for the stupid, old COD campaigns were stupid as fuck and nostalgia and sheer vibes carries them even if plots never made sense.

I’m surprised MW2019 wasn’t on this list. For me that’s probably my favourite campaign, mainly because I loved the realism of it. And story wise I think it’s up there with the common ones I.e BO1, MW2 etc.

I have just finished 2019's Modern Warfare and MW2. I have to say, MW1 was actually incredible. Believable settings, set pieces were actually awe stricking, the world details was incredible, and the motivations was actually good. MW2's story was fun and the set pieces were memorable and different from MW1. I just started MW3 and I don't like the "Warzone-esque" mission structure. The first mission was awesome though.

Mw2019 shills for the west too much. I hate how there’s a level with the “highway of death” which in game is a bunch of civilians in their cars on a highway the russians killed but irl the highway of death was something that happened in the first gulf war when the Iraqi army was retreating and coalition forces bombed them (actually a war crime btw)

For be the best campaign would be black ops 2 cause your choices matter during the campaign and in the ending. That plus all the twist, VAs, and likable/wicked characters add to the experience. Black ops 1, World at war, and the original MW trilogy had this too(minus the story choices but still).

2000's - 2010's era of COD was also part of the gamer movement. Nobody gived a shit if the story was nonsensical or if the graphics looked the same if they felt "badass" or edgy. Also funny that you talk about loving an old experience that you yourself never lived through, I have been playing COD since 2008 as a child with a PSP and when characters barely had any polygons, still as fun as then as the mobile game is now.
