I live close to the factory at the Gold Coast. They are really well built yachts, and that reflects in their high resale value. Their offshore ability and general robustness is due to local South East Queensland marine conditions, you simply have to have something robust and brisk.

Thank you for that. With a Riviera boat I am again wondering about the positioning of the throttles. They seem so vulnerable to accidental knocking from passing passenger traffic at the top of stairs when the boat is pitching and rolling.

So nice! And I just watched your video on the Riviera 58 SMY, basically this 585 suv but with another level higher for the command center, allowing for a larger living space inside still above the lower cabin areas. Loved them both. A question, is there any stability advantage in stronger seas going with this lower version versus the higher 58 SMY? Thanks.

I don't think you'd feel much difference at all at planing speeds but the SMY will roll more at rest due to its height. That said, both boats can be fitted with zero speed stabilisers to nullify much of that - Jack

It will go 400 miles at the cruise speed of 27 knots. That is very good. I wonder what the range is when cruising at say 6 knots? I would guess it would be well over a thousand miles.
