I fell in love with the deluxe nashville telle, 3 noiseless pick ups with a strat pickup in the middle 5 way tone switch , locking tuners, string tree, cutaway on back bottom of neck, wanted s white one. Mexican made , neck is flat and wide , but I had a regular blonde tele in the 80,s that was a killer, lost it and wanted another since, it fits me. That’s a great telle you’ve got there, killer. I’ll get one I know.

PS- I like the switch configuration on yours, the only other thing I’d add to that ( If I’m modding it ) would be the treble bleed? Maybe yours already has that? 2017 American Pro Telecaster here. It's my first higher-end guitar I bought brand new. I love the guitar a lot. When I play it I have a PRS tube amp and an assortment of boost and drive and distortion pedals and I am super surprised at the sounds I get out of it. I'll hit a chord and in my head, I'm like that's that sound! (something a band played that I've always wondered how they got their guitar to sound that way) It's super inspiring.

I have one the early MIM Deluxe Nashville Telecasters with the strat pick up in the middle. I bought for the versatility and the guy bought and didn't like it so he sold it to me on ebay for 350 and it was like brand new. i learned real fast that it was popping D strings. Not uncommon with MIM guitars. I took to my friend Bill Crook of ?Crook Custom guitars and had the proper files for the saddles. He set it up for me and corrected the issue so he could take it apart and see what was inside it. I was fine with that. lol They are selling for 800 and up now. Doesn't cover the humbucker zone though but it sounds great and doesn't toss a bunch of hum either. It's remarkably quiet for single coils. they have certainly done some shielding work on them. and I can use it for a cutting board in a pinch. lol

I have this one. Stock ceramic pickups were not great, not very dynamic and not very Tele-like. I put 51 Nocaster CS pickups in it, swapped the control plate back to normal, put Gotoh compensated saddles on it and swapped the tuners to the classic gear tuners. The Nocasters absolutely transformed it. I don’t think the ash makes an ounce of difference to the tone but it weighs about 7 lbs so it’s lighter, which is nice. The pick guard mounted neck pickup and the truss rod adjuster on the headstock isn’t vintage style but both are more convenient for adjusting. Thinking of a bone nut. Despite all the talk of it feeling like a US made one it’s not really the same. The neck is gloss on the back and the edges aren’t nice and rolled like a US Pro guitar would be. But, it’s a nice enough neck. The colour on the body is not really great, too orange. Would have preferred a more blonde look like the originals. But, it’s not an expensive guitar. Will I keep it? Probably. My kids will end up with it. If I find a custom shop guitar that I like I’d prefer that. Not a fan of the polyester body, especially.
@jimmyfranklin
@jimmyfranklin 3 жыл бұрын
interesting take! i was thinking about doing a video about upgrading this! that being said, the neck on this one feels amazing and the frets feel flawless... but that is the deal a lot of times... the higher priced models you are paying for consistency...
@jimmythefish
@jimmythefish 3 жыл бұрын
@@jimmyfranklin I don't think it's about consistency with this one, a lot of it is just personal preference. There's nothing inherently 'wrong' about it and honestly for me it's a real joy to play, sounds amazing, very solid. Excellent value. It was really close to the American one I tried in the store; I couldn't justify twice the price. It's my only electric guitar, and at this point in my life I'm looking for lifetime guitars and this one is just not quite there regarding feel. Ideal for me would be 60s custom shop, thin skin nitro, little deeper neck, vintage hardware, rosewood board, that sort of vibe. But, that's a different league really and for someone who is wanting a lot of guitars and a good example of each the FSR is great for that. Cheers.

Is the player series comparable to the fsr? I’m getting back into the guitar after a decade of not playing and I’m really wanting to get a Tele but the different series are making me unsure what it is I’m needing. I hope to play a lot of rock music from Led Zeppelin and The Doors to Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam if that helps narrow it down. I also don’t want to break the bank so that’s why i was looking into the Player or HH series. Thanks for the great video!
@jimmyfranklin
@jimmyfranklin 3 жыл бұрын
OK!!! GREAT QUESTION!! So the player series dominates... the FSRs are basically custom player series made for specific stores... this one was made for Guitar Center. anything here from the player series is SO worth the money: imp.i114863.net/9WVYAE If that is slightly out of the price range, then let me tell you: the Squier Affinity Series can be a gamble sometimes... but ive seen alot of good ones: imp.i114863.net/JrkNJv I would still take a Player Series Over anything... Which are you looking at?? Tele or Strat?? how long you been playing?

@@jimmyfranklin Thank you for the response! I am absolutely looking into a Tele. I have been eating up every piece of reading material, and KZbin videos i can find and the Tele is the choice for me. I may be technically new to guitar after such a long absence from playing but i have narrowed it down to 2 specific guitars that vary drastically in price: the player series in butterscotch and the American professional II also in butterscotch. I know they look almost identical and even sound almost identical but for me i like the more visible wood grain look the American professional has and also the more comfortable neck. The only thing that stops me is the price point. I’ll have this guitar for life so in my eyes spending the extra money is worth the investment but i still hold back for some reason.
