For my guys who dont have time to watch this lemme sum it all up. The first thing scouts look for is size. even if you do not have much size you can make that up with athletism and overall skill. You must acknowledge your weaknesses and do not over rate how good you are at some things. working smart is almost as important as working hard. Dont worry about messing up just focus on getting better. important workouts: watch film, working on your shot, working on athletism, skills, Work on catch and shoot. Overall: work hard, work smart, work on your weaknesses and grow your strengths, push yourself, and be willing to fail to get better

This is a great video for the younger kids coming up. Some of these things I wish I knew when I was playing back in high school basketball. I am currently playing college basketball and it is important to know how to score offensively in as limited amount of dribbles as possible. It is also so crucial to be able to play defense at the next level as well. Hope young high school players learn these tips early so they don’t have to later. 💯

thank you so much for this vid. I have goals for basketball that most people would laugh at. I work my butt off every single day and do everything I possibly can do be the best that I possibly can. This video helped me figure out the most important things for me to be working on and get good at as a whole. I think the most important thing though to remember as a basketball player who is trying to make it big is to keep realistic expectations and never get ahead of yourself, but at the same time always believe in something that might seem impossible. If you always believe that you can achieve something, than you always can.

Ngl, I never loved basketball for the money or for the fans watching. Ever since I touched the ball at a later age (at 15+5 months!!! Very late age I know) , I knew this was the sport for me instead of football/soccer. I loved dribbling, scoring against others, even just passing and assisting lol. Then I felt like I wanted to dominate instead of playing fun. Only after a long time later did I realise there are pro leagues. I didnt care abt the money for myself, again. Or the fans. Just seeing dominant players, playing at an aggressively high level, reigning at the top. Training daily. Making names, excluding few others for their success, I want to become one of them, to become the best. I just need more practice and to stop thinking of other people's opinions of me. Im only 6'2 but I still know can make it. I want to make it. To make my country zimbabwe proud, to support it financially too (that's my only care for the money). Now i'm 16 and I played far better than my first few months, i'd say i need 5-6 years of hard work and when i do make it, the coaches there can help improve my game. kinda like how giannis antetokounmpo and joel embiid went abt it. ye ye ik they tall asf but idc abt that. This video gave me more reason to train for it. My preferable position: shooting guard

I think the biggest mistake beginners who aspire to be a pro make, is that they idolize all these players like kyrie, iverson who dribble non -stop and are flashy and practice their moves all the time, but still are scared to do them in games, which just leaves them to be a waste of a place on the roster who cant play defense or pass. First you should get the simple things down, like defense catch and shoot and basic passing. Still, you shouldnt be doing flashy moves if you want to win, because a catch and shoot 3 is equal in value to an iso 3 fadeaway. Learn the fundamentals first.

Work on legs strength and make sure sure your mechanics of close to perfect. Other that that just shoot. Form shooting has also helped me a lot. That’s all a can really give you without seeing your form. Keep working.

Remember that the goal doesn't have to be the NBA, plenty of leagues around the world that are growing and looking for talent. Basketball is the fastest growing team sport in the world, there will be leagues everywhere in the next coming decade. Obviously aim for NBA but dont be disappointed in yourself if you end up playing in the Euroleague. You can make serious money in China and Europe.
